**Our camping sites vary in size and proximity to others. If you want to come with a group with several vehicles etc, please send a message rather than book separate sites. We will help find a site which suits your needs. We now have several secluded bush camp sites as alternatives to our more 'civilised' sites. They have no facilities apart from the site so you must be entirely self-sufficient. But all are single sites well away from others. We invite you to come and share our property, soak up the tranquility of our quiet valley and enjoy feeling at home in nature. And your dog is welcome too (under control please because we value our wildlife, and no more than 2 dogs per couple or family group)! The land is nearly 200 Ha in the western foothills of the Dividing Range, with the usually-flowing North Branch Creek being a green haven supporting lots of wildlife. It also includes the secluded back valley of Hann Creek to which you can walk, cycle or ride, with many tracks of lengths up to 3 km. The land is mostly open forest land with some cleared areas from its dairy-farming history, and many gullies with thicker vegetation. The property is mostly now dedicated to nature conservation and the recovery of its more natural state. It is a Nature Refuge under Qld legislation with special emphasis on recognising that the land is Githabul country, honouring local Githabul people now, sharing it with them and others, plus preserving species of plants and animals with known relevance to their former lifestyles. The name Nyalar Mirungan-ah means 'Old Women's Tears' in Githabul, and recognises that they cry because the land was taken from them and because it has not been looked after well by European people. We are now trying to care for it well, and to allow the original ecosystems to return, by lighter grazing, soil recovery and using traditional Aboriginal burning knowledge. And we welcome dogs as long as they don't disturb our wildlife. Shandy, our own dog, is very welcoming to guests and might drop in to your camp for a visit.

Bursaria Clearing
I camped at the secluded spot, not next to the river what also looked awesome. Loved it! You do need an all-wheel or 4x4 to reach the campsite, but having a site to yourself is brilliant. David was extremely helpful to show the site arriving in the dark. I’ll come again!

Site 1 - Creek Flat
Beautiful and peaceful
What a great property, far enough from the city to feel like you’re away yet not too far for just one or two nights. The hosts were friendly and helpful yet un-intrusive. The site was as described- easy access, uncrowded, flat, mowed grass, beside the running creek and not far from the waterhole (too cold for a swim!) There we’re more sites on the other side of the creek that looked great too and would perhaps be even quieter yet still close to the water. It was handy to have a clean toilet and bore water to use if needed that was a short walk away and helps keep the sites very clean and tidy. We went for some walks and saw wildlife and chatted with David about the extensive work he’s done in the property to slowly restore it back to health. We would love to come back again.

Beautiful, quiet. Waterhole is picturesque, walking tracks are extensive, great with the doggo. Sites are large and very spaced out.

Great spot especially if you have a dog. Super spacious and the creek is great - although was too cold for us to have a dip. Loved the ability to have a fire too

Great directions to the camp. Friendly and helpful hosts. Beautiful natural bush camping. Waterhole was a great swim. Toilets are awesome. Although the neighbours rooster was a bit much at 4am everyday, I’ll be back for another visit soon. Plenty of bird life around and great flora and bush walks too.

Red Gum Flat
Red gum flat- amazing!
Highly recommend this camp spot! David was very helpful, showing us to our spot and explaining the trails, but also allowing us our space and privacy. Red gum flat campground was completely secluded from other campers which was perfect. We loved sitting around the fire and there were beautiful walking paths to explore! Allowing dogs off leash was the highlight as they had a wonderful time being allowed the freedom they love! We checked out some of the other camp grounds whilst exploring and red gum flat was by far the biggest! Plenty of shade as well as big sunny areas. Views of the mountains and bush to every other side. We will 100% be back!

Apple Tree Ridge
Beautiful site.
Crisp clean mountain air on a very private site on a dead end track, yet only 200m from good toilet facilities and close to a little stream and waterhole. Plenty of history in this area and if you want a night out Maryvale Hotel is a short drive away. Wildlife and farm animals all around.

Site 4 - Dairy paddock
Nice place to relax and enjoy a cool swim in the creek. Plenty of space and options in various parts of the property. No showers wasn’t a problem and the toilets were plenty fine and cleaned regularly. Various native animals to be seen through the day and night. A very good option to get away from it all and just relax.

Lovely spot for camping, was only there for the weekend but our site was very generous in size , we were able to spread out. Has a composting toilet which didn’t smell at all, also has potable water for you to use, which was great for the shower. Definitely will be back.

Site 2 - The Waterhole
We loved our weekend at The Waterhole. It felt miles from everywhere and the little break away we needed. We did some walking and had a few swims in the waterhole. Even though we had other campers in the other spot one night it was still private.
