There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. There is wildlife around like kangaroos, wallabies, echidna and many bird species so no pets are permitted on the property. Fires are permitted in the designated Firepit provided. This has been a highlight for guests so far. Bring your own firewood or buy along the road nearby. Guests are asked to respect the quiet environment. Facilities include equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer, gas stove/oven, benchtop convection oven, kettle, toaster and all cooking utensils as well as plates, cutlery, glasses, etc. Bathroom with hot shower and a bathtub for parents with children. As we are on tank rainwater, we request that guests conserve water usage. Compost toilet is accessible up a few stairs. There is a laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer for your convenience. There is wildlife around like kangaroos, wallabies, echidna and many bird species so no pets are permitted on the property. Fires are permitted in the designated Firepit provided. This has been a highlight for guests so far. Bring your own firewood or buy along the road nearby. Guests are asked to respect the quiet environment. Maria and Neil are truly extraordinary human beings — warm, welcoming, and incredibly considerate. The kitchen, bathroom, and toilet are immaculately clean. We’ve used compostable toilets many times before, but this is the only place we’ve experienced where it was completely odour-free and spotless! The site itself is spacious and wonderfully quiet, surrounded by trees. The natural white noise of cicadas making the whole stay relaxing and peaceful. 25 mins drive to Noosa, yet feels like a world away. We wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended.

1 night at TerraLyra Sanctuary Retreat
A pleasant overnight stop while making our way south to Brisbane. Our stopover was on a Monday with very few people on site, so plenty of places to choose from for us and our van. A 4WD to access the secluded sites would be recommended as it might be tricky getting out if you had any rain as the trek out is relatively steep, grassy but steep. We camped next to the dam and went to sleep with the sound of frogs chatting which is quite soothing and made for a good night. The camp ground is far enough off the “Bruce Hwy” which made for a quiet night and no street lighting is a bonus as well. Highly recommend this place and we will be back again.

This was such a great experience. We originally booked over the weekend of the QLD cyclone Alfred, and were only able to return in December, but the whole process was seamless. We booked on Hipcamp, arrived, checked in, and headed straight to the Mills Point camping area. The grounds were beautifully maintained, with manicured lawns, clean spaces, and everyone being respectful and keeping to themselves. It was a little more congested than I expected, but still a lovely, safe space for the kids. We went exploring through Pomona and Eumundi, wandered the markets, grabbed a coffee, picked up some biltong, and enjoyed the local atmosphere before heading back to spend the whole afternoon in the water. The scenery was gorgeous — ocean views, fresh air, kangaroos hopping by, plus a restaurant, a vibey bar, and even gelato on site. Overall, a wonderful stay and a place we’d happily return

Bushy Woods is an absolute gem! Bushy himself is a legend — genuinely welcoming, down-to-earth, and always making sure everyone feels right at home. The whole campsite has this wonderfully calm, peaceful vibe that makes it the perfect escape. Facilities are clean, well looked after, and exactly what you want after a long day out in nature. There is a 4wd access road through to the mapleton national park for you to enjoy the hiking trails and nature. We want your camping experience at Cedar Banks to be delightful while respecting our local community, wildlife, and surroundings. To keep the area pristine, fires must be in allocated pits. You must bring your own wood or purchase some from us in advance and we will have it ready for you on arrival. Pets are welcome with prior approval, but they must follow property rules. Swimming is allowed only during daylight hours, and caution is advised due to natural creek conditions. Jumping or diving is prohibited. For the safety of all guests, property access is strictly for booked individuals, and non-paying visitors are not permitted. We encourage exploration on foot, as all areas are easily accessible. Please do not drive your vehicle around the property. As there are no on-site toilets, kindly bring your own camp toilet and ensure proper waste removal. Cedarton is a small farm on 100 acres, we have cows, chickens, ducks, goats, sheep and horses. We have wild deer, wallabies and kangaroos that come in the mornings and afternoons. If the kids like to get involved, I can take them around in the morning to feed the animals, we have around 30 head of cattle, calves, 2 horses, 2 goats, one pet sheep, chickens and ducks. We have a cow called Cutie Pie, she loves a cuddle. Happy to spend time with the kids to show them the jobs we do daily. Parents can join in or sit back and relax. Takes about 1 hour in the morning. If it's school holidays, we build scarecrow's, plant sunflowers or other crops together. Wash rescue horses or any other job on the farm. Kids love collecting the eggs and cooking them up for their breakfast. We also have a pool at the farmhouse which campers can use between 9am - 11.30am daily. If you like hiking there's a couple you can do, one that takes around 30 mins and one that takes 2 hours. Plenty of space to play cricket, football or ride push bikes. If you like fishing there's creeks nearby as well. Each camp site will have wood for fires, if you require more you can buy some on site for $20 a bag. Please don't bring wood in because of biosecurity and fire ants. Cedarton Farm is also on Facebook. We are close to Australia Zoo, Big Kart track at Beerwah, Maleny Dairies, Kondalilla falls, Gardener waterfalls, Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve. There's a cheese factory, chocolate factory and wineries in Maleny. Fantastic restaurants in Montville. We are also 10 mins from Woodford Folk Festival. We are off grid only for campers, campervans and caravans we have no amenities at this current time. How ever if you want a porta loo Dinkem Dunnies are great and deliver porta loos. Roughly costs $250 to hire. 4x4 if towing because of dirt driveway and paddocks. Pet friendly however we do ask that no pets chase animals.
