Unfortunately Hipcamp Insurance no longer covers horse riding, so no riding on the grounds unless you are a member of another pony club, Equestrian Australia or have your own private insurance. Heaps of rides just out the gate though through forestry tracks. (turn left out of the grounds, then left again onto Priddy Rd, cross Tin Can Bay Rd and ride for miles into the forestry) Ask any questions , we are fellow horse people afterall :)

Our property is located in the beautiful Glastonbury area, which is between Gympie and Widgee. Only 9kms to local Woolworths, Fuel Station, Chemist, Pub and Bottleo.
The 'Three Mile Creek' winds its way through the property, providing beautiful shady camping areas and nice water holes to cool down on a hot day.
Camping areas are secluded from the main road. Sites are along the creek, out in the open paddocks, or amongst the tall stands of bamboo. All with easy access for 4WD/Campers/Caravans.
We have three large dams for swimming and kayaking (kayaks provided onsite).
All sites have fire pits with no shortage of firewood, fires must be contained and supervised at all times. Some sites have picnic tables.
Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and camp rubbish with them on departure.
Perfect place to just relax or use as a base to do day trips to explore our beautiful region and what it has to offer.

For your convenience, our well-equipped camp kitchen includes a fridge, toaster, kettle, electric frypan, and microwave, along with all the necessary cutlery and crockery. Please remember to clean up after using the kitchen to keep it welcoming for everyone.
In the kitchen area you will also find a pool table and dart board and arcade game for your use.
If you choose to bring your horse you will find stabling or yards under Extras as begin your booking. The cost can be seen as you view the sites. The stables are rubber floored, meaning you use minimal sawdust therefore minimal dust. They are equipped with automatic waterers and feed bins. The yards are separated so that the horses can't reach each other from one yard to the other. Please ensure these areas are cleaned before you leave. There are rakes and wheelbarrows provided near the arena and at the end of the stables for your convenience.
Our sites are best suited to self contained camping but there is shower and toilet availability on the property. There is a dump site situated in Crescent St Childers

We had a fabulous time in our caravan on a powered site at Hidden Camp. The owner Callan was very friendly & helpful in making sure we had everything we needed.
We had no other campers near by, the property is so well set up in the way everyone is far apart. We felt like we were the only family camping. The kids explored everyday, went swimming in the dam, kayaks were a great hit too. We played Lazer Tag at night with other campers and had marshmallows around our own firepit.
The highlight for us city people were the free roaming animals, Camels, Donkeys, Horses, Foals, Cows, Ducks, we had a lot of fun petting them and learning all their names.
We will definitely return to Hidden Camp and would highly recommend others to book in.
Hidden Camp has powered sites, non powered sites and also self contained Tiny Homes.

We absolutely loved this place. It's like a small safari where horses, Camels, Donkeys & Cows, and cows all wander around the property. Absolutely amazing experience, that is something you don't get anywhere else.
Must visit a place with very friendly hosts.

We had a very relaxing time and the hosts were really great... There's quite a lot of animals roaming around the property and they aren't shy about dropping into camp and introducing themselves...
Made friends with a donkey and a few camels!
The dam is great for kids swimming...

I loved my stay at Narelle's property! Camping right next to the creek was so calm and peaceful, and so nice for a dip to cool off too! The property is beautiful and Narelle is a very friendly and helpful host, great for a chat and she even helped me jump start my car! What a champ! The location is close enough to Gympie but feels worlds away. I will definitely be back.

We stayed for five nights and had a wonderful experience. The hosts, Callam and Leah, were fantastic from the moment we arrived. Callam showed us around and helped us choose an unpowered site.
At Hidden Camp, we were delighted by the friendly animals that live there, including donkeys, horses, camels, chickens, and ducks. We enjoyed exploring the property with its many scenic walks.
We will definitely come back for another stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this caravan park. The site was clean, well maintained, and very peaceful. The facilities were excellent, especially the clean bathrooms and well-kept communal areas. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always happy to answer questions.
The location was perfect, with beautiful surroundings and easy access to local attractions and shops. Our pitch was spacious, level, and had all the hookups we needed, making our stay comfortable and stress-free.
Overall, this caravan park offers great value for money and a relaxing atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to families, couples, and anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

Loved camping at the Kia Ora’s pony club, good amenities and powered sites. Lots of room so didn’t need to mingle with others and could do your own thing. Nice flat land, easy to level the caravan and easy drive to rainbow beach, tin can bay and Gympie.
Easy check to book last minute and organise early check in etc with host through messages. Great value!

I loved tent camping in the powered site at Susan River Homestead. My husband and I had a Fabulous time with our 11 year old son. The view from our site was just Beautiful and so relaxing! We had so much fun playing table tennis and shooting hoops in the games room. It was relaxing have an afternoon swim in the pool each afternoon to cool off.
I went for a horse ride … it had been years since I was on a horse! The Instructors we so kind and helpful. I rode Odin who was a big but gentle horse. I can’t speak high enough of these camp grounds! We will definately be back soon!

A truly fabulous stop over on our trip up North. Amazing hosts and the animal feeding was the absolute highlight. Hosts were so generous with their time and insights and they our daughter absolutely loved the tractor ride. Would return in a heartbeat. Extra benefit super peaceful and lots of space.

We absolutely loved our 4 days at Susan River Homestead. Everyone was so welcoming! There are heaps of things to keep the kids busy. If they not running or kicking a ball around there is a trampoline, tennis court, games room and pool to keep them busy. The cow feeding was the funniest and most entertaining thing I have done at a homestead. Highly recommend. We will be back 😊

This was by far the best camping spot we have been to, the property is spectacular. Beautiful, clean & calm. The animals were beautiful & a hit with the kids & adults. Plenty to do onsite & it's half way between Harvey Bay & Rainbow Beach for day trips. The woodfire pizza & live music was also amazing.

Where to go
Fraser Coast
Maryborough is the gateway to the Fraser Coast, where you can take your pick of sandy beaches and island getaways. Cruise out to Fraser Island to enjoy 4WD beach drives, bushwalks, and beachside camping, or head to the whale-watching capital of Hervey Bay.
Capricorn Coast
North of Hervey Bay, the bohemian beach town of Bundaberg is famous for its sea turtles, seafood restaurants, and Bundaberg Rum factory. Check into a beachside holiday park, set sail on a cruise around the Southern Great Barrier Reef, or continue along the coast to Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy.
Sunshine Coast
The golden shores of the Sunshine Coast lie just south of Maryborough. Zip along the beaches of the Great Sandy National Park in a 4WD, then camp out by the beachside, or head to neighboring Noosa Heads for a surf lesson. Further south, popular attractions include the Eumundi Markets and Australia Zoo, and a hike around the Glass House Mountains is a must.
When to go
Maryborough’s mild climate makes it a year-round destination, but the biggest crowds come in July for the annual Mary Poppins festival—book your campsite well in advance if visiting at this time. July through October is the time for whale-watching along the Fraser Coast, but coastal towns are busiest in summer (December through February).
Know before you go
- The Fraser Coast has good public transport links, but having your own transport is useful for exploring the coast and national parks.
- Maryborough has several shops where you can pick up camping gear and stock up on supplies before heading out to the islands.
- Fire bans are common in Queensland during summer and dry periods, so check local recommendations before lighting a campfire.
