Enjoy a convenient and relaxing base to discover the best of Hervey Bay at our 150-acre cattle grazing farm located just 3km outside of town, with plenty of space for campers. To access the farm, turn right off the Maryborough Highway into Chapel Rd, then turn right at the picnic table beside the bikeway, and do not drive over the cattle grid. We offer numerous camping sites on cleared land lined by trees, near to our gully and seasonal creek. Each site is private and offers plenty of space. Campers must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, but there is a 24/7 dump station just 2km away. A stone's throw from the campsites is access to the mobility corridor/bike path, which takes you straight into Hervey Bay and continues all the way past the shops to Urangan pier, offering 15km of ocean frontage to explore. Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient. Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure. Campfires are permitted, but please BYO firepit, and there is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect and split yourself. Pets are welcome too! Kids under 5 stay free and don't need to be included in the booking group count. Check-in is welcome after 9 am and you can depart anytime.

Please keep in mind that the noise from the dog motel isn't a nightly occurrence, making it difficult to predict specific nights when it may be more active. However I've noticed that campers in caravans generally have a more insulated experience and are less affected by any early morning barking. If you prefer a quieter spot, I make it a priority to assign campers the farthest firepit, Camp 4, nestled deep in the bush, providing you with a peaceful retreat away from any noise. Additionally I'm delighted to offer electricity to all camps, ensuring your comfort and convenience during your stay. Whether you choose a campsite closer to the amenities or opt for the tranquility of Camp 4, rest assured that you'll have access to electricity. While the dog motel may occasionally add a touch of canine charm to the soundscape, I'm confident that the overall experience at my Hipcamp will be an enjoyable one. There is a lovely paddock for the dogs to take in the country atmosphere and located right next to the 40 acre nature reserve with 4kms of walking trails, what better way to Escape, Relax and Unwind. 69 species of birds have been identified on the property to date. We also provide dog minding services! Photo updates supplied. Cost is $50 per day (add to your booking). All you need to do is supply your dog bed and food. Recently our guests enjoyed a trip to Fraser Island and were very impressed with the service provided. So if you love your fur baby and you still want to have a holiday experience, just come and stay here and we can enhance your stay by giving your fur babies a holiday too. You may be moved to a different site if your chosen site is too wet. We use Good Riddance products for the midges & mozzies during summer because it works, its non toxic + deet free. Our property is located halfway between Gympie and Maryborough (approx. 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway) tucked away down a private road which is lovely and peaceful. We have some walking trails located on the Camp Grounds to take in the scenery, or for the more adventurous located behind the office are longer walking trails with spectacular views at the top. There is a bike track and playground with Mini Putt Putt to keep the kids amused! Currently an RC track in the making for the remote 4WD enthusiasts. Easy access to the Mary River if you would like a spot of fishing, swimming or kayaking. Keep your eye out for the platypus and Mary River Turtles. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. Great atmosphere and meals "tell them we sent you". Gundy Getaway is the perfect place to get back to basics and enjoy the peace and serenity.

Virtue Farm is a 33 acre property overlooking K'Gari (Fraser Island). It includes 27 acres of remnant forest which will never be developed. The forest is an oasis for bird life, koalas, echidnas, and other animals and is great for walking. You will see loads of kangaroos to your site. You must have your own toilet to stay here and be able to remove all grey water. Our regional council does not allow us to host swag/tent campers. Tents and swags may be permitted if accompanied by an RV or caravan, please ask us first. Virtue Farm is a council approved self-contained recreational vehicle ground. Arrival after dark is by prior arrangement only as we have no lighting on the farm. We are 10 minutes from Hervey Bay and 10 minutes from the K'Gari (Fraser Island) barge that leaves from River Heads. and only 10 minutes drive to Hervey Bay's beautiful beaches We are building a productive, diverse permaculture farm incorporating a market garden, food forest and small volume egg production. From your campsite, on our farm block, you will have sensational views to K'Gari (Fraser Island) whilst being surrounded by 27 acres of bushland that is reserved for nature and registered with Land for Wildlife. Expect to see amazing colours at sunrise and sunset. Enjoy the many birds and animals that you will see as you spend time exploring our bush and farm. There's the added bonus of a range of fresh, organically grown produce to be harvested daily at a small extra cost. You will love the peace and quiet of our block and the huge array of wildlife that choose to call our place home. To preserve this tranquility, pets and rowdy groups are not suited to this camp site. You are welcome to camp in family and friendship groups. If camping in a group you can choose how closely to camp near each other. If not with a group you must be at least 20m away from other campers to respect their privacy. We welcome you to Virtue Farm where we are creating a chemical-free, sustainably grown, productive, diverse, permaculture farm incorporating a market garden and food forest. We have some walking trails located on the Camp Grounds to take in the scenery, or for the more adventurous located behind the office are longer walking trails with spectacular views at the top. There is a bike track and playground with Mini Putt Putt to keep the kids amused! Currently an RC track in the making for the remote 4WD enthusiasts. Easy access to the Mary River if you would like a spot of fishing, swimming or kayaking. Keep your eye out for the platypus and Mary River Turtles. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. Great atmosphere and meals "tell them we sent you". Gundy Getaway is the perfect place to get back to basics and enjoy the peace and serenity.

Our names are Chris and Christine. We recently moved to Gundiah Qld and acquired a beautiful piece of land (approx. 320 acres) with about 70 acres of picturesque camping located on the Mary River. Our property is located halfway between Gympie and Maryborough (approx. 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway) tucked away down a private road which is lovely and peaceful. We have some walking trails located on the Camp Grounds to take in the scenery, or for the more adventurous located behind the office are longer walking trails with spectacular views at the top. There is a bike track and playground with Mini Putt Putt to keep the kids amused! Currently an RC track in the making for the remote 4WD enthusiasts. Easy access to the Mary River if you would like a spot of fishing, swimming or kayaking. Keep your eye out for the platypus and Mary River Turtles. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. Great atmosphere and meals "tell them we sent you". Gundy Getaway is the perfect place to get back to basics and enjoy the peace and serenity.

The local Barramundi Whisperer caught a 94cm pearla the first day we arrived. I jest you not. The cows are friendly and kept the grounds perfectly mowed. The fireflies come out at sunset and are mesmerising as they dance across the river only to be snapped up by the plentiful fish. Each night the campsites went quiet to the crackle of campfires after a bit of laughter and singing. Other guests are kind, generous and a pleasure to chat with. The host was very helpful. Trev made us feel welcome and safe without being imposing. The kids and pets had lots of room to play, ride their bikes, climb trees and get back in tune with nature. We intended to stay for a 1 week working holiday but ended up staying for 3 weeks for rest and recuperation. The stay did us so much good that we invited others to join us who also thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. This is an excellent all round Hipcamp destination that we are sure to return to. Thank you for letting us stay.

While packing up my car wouldn't start so they came down and fixed my car. Dogs were so cute and my puppy had an amazing time swimming in the dam. We originally booked for 1 night and stayed for 5. We camped at the Creekside camp which was a lovely grassed area with lots of space. The area was well maintained and even had a shade shelter with table and chairs. The camp is private, quiet and with a lovely outlook over the creek and a fire pit is provided. We caught numerous catfish, which was fun, and 2 quite large lungfish which we photographed and released unharmed back into the water. Owen and Wendy are lovely friendly hosts who were very accommodating after we had a booking hiccup with another site. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful and secluded paddock at the back of our house on one and a half acres, located in Cooloola Cove. PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING. A perfect spot to explore the area and a jump off point for K'gari/Fraser Island. Amenities include: fire pit (bring your own wood), camp oven cooking pit, full BBQ kitchen in the fully powered shed with huge commercial fridge and running/drinkable water. The kitchen includes plates/bowls/cutlery/knives/mugs/glasses/frying pans/pots, there's a toaster/kettle/microwave, a big gas BBQ with a hotplate and BBQ utensils/tongs etc. There's also camp ovens and a jaffle iron. Guests can also enjoy access to an outdoor bathroom with a shower, toilet and a beautiful claw footed bathtub! Pets are welcome, but the yard is only partially block fenced. So any escape artists would have an easy time absconding. Only a 10 min drive to Tin Can bay and 15 mins to Rainbow Beach - and a Woolworths/bakery/bottle shop 5 mins down the road. Please let us know approximate arrival times when possible, and any arrivals after 7pm, by prior arrangement. THINGS TO CONSIDER: Unfortunately we can only accommodate tent/camper trailer bookings and not large motorhomes or towed caravans of any kind. Flooding does occur during rainy season, roughly January to April, which can make the site and area inaccessible. Please check/consider conditions when booking and in the lead up to your stay. During the months of September and October we have nesting birds on the property and swooping can be issue and something to keep in mind if any of your group have an aversion to birds.  As per Hipcamp rules/insurance policy, there must be a person over 18 years old on site with any under 18s during the stay.

The campground is suitable for big rigs, caravans, motorhomes, tents and swags. We neighbor the Mary2 Bay Rail Trail, which starts at the Urangan Pier and goes to Maryborough. Next door to us is the Vernon Conservation Park with 1,600 acres to explore by walking, cycling or horse riding, so bring your ebikes and ride all the way into town if you are keen. Dogs allowed but must remain on a leash. Campfires allowed, except during total fire bans. (Please note campground is only open from 1 April to 31 August each year).

On our 28 acre property you have access to an extremely large dam for your water toys ( non powered) and mowed walking tracks all over the property. Campers must be self contained with their own toilet. Kangaroos are everywhere and an abundance of birdlife have the 2nd very large dam all to themselves. The site provides complete privacy and peace and quiet except for the bird song. The Heritage township of Childers is 5 minutes away by car, Woolies, restaurants as well as a main street that is very worth while walking down. Great coffee shops and interesting old Hotels. Our property is situated on the banks of the great sandy strait just 400m from the Tuan Boat ramp with access to Fraser Island by boat or kayak. We are surrounded by Tuan State Forest and wetlands. There is a medium sized dam on the property for swimming.The Tuan Forshore has a park, BBQ area and picnic tables as well as garbage disposal. There is plenty of space in the surrounding forests for mountain biking, motor-biking and walking. 3km down the road in Boonooroo you will find a large park with tennis court and public BBQ's. The bowls club and Golf Club just 3km away and serve meals on weekends. This site is suitable for caravans, RV's, camper trailers. There is NO toilet facility on the property. We are VERY dog friendly and can be off lead as long as the dogs are friendly towards people and other dogs and don't bite our horses. We also have other peoples horses agisting in paddocks. Activities you can do include boating, kayaking, swimming, fishing, crabbing, walking, stand up paddle boarding, bird watching, kangaroo spotting, playing in the parks, beach tennis, mountain biking, hiking etc. Camp sites are far from the main house and other sites so you can have camp fires and play music, use generators without worry. Campers will need to be self contained (rubbish and toilets) and please leave your campsite the way you found it. Don't leave toilet paper or rubbish in fire pits please. Enter / Exit the main gate by pushing the code into the key pad. Gate closes after 20 seconds once it is fully open so be quick. NOTE: ***During Summer- November, December, January and February there are midgees (sandflies) at dusk and dawn and we do recommend midgee screening or spraying the mesh on your caravan windows as the standard mozzie mesh will not keep them out. Bring coils, a fan as they hate any breeze, bug spray and long sleeved pants and tops to wear in the evenings from about 5pm-7pm!*** *4X4's are recommended if you don't stay along the fence line as it can get muddy if there has been lots of rain. If you stay along the fence line you will be fine as the roads are compact and hard and the camp sites along this fence are higher up, they are marked with Fire Pits so camp here if you want to stay dry and get a good breeze.*

Buxton Bush Retreat is a privately owned parcel of 17 acres located 7 kilometers (6 minute drive) from the quaint seaside village of Buxton. The front 5 acres is 'home' to Kerrie and Brian, their two puppies (Jazz and Jaxi) and two cats (Bangers and Mash). The remainder of the property (about 12 acres) comprises of flat, well grassed areas and natural bushland. There are eight(8) well maintained, large, flat camping areas and each has its own fire pit. An initial supply of firewood will be provided. There is no water or power throughout these camping areas, hence they are only suitable for "fully self contained" motor homes and caravans. Apart from humans, dogs and cats, the property is inhabited by kangaroos and a variety of birdlife. The small township of Buxton is home to a mixture of permanent residents and holiday homes. There is one general store which sells most consumables, including alcohol. They also serve up meals every Wednesday. Buxton has a great little boat ramp on the Isis River which provides easy access for river fishing or to the Coral Sea for ocean fishing. So, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable QUIET and relaxing campsite with not too many people around then Buxton Bush Retreat many be just the place for you. Rosgrow Farm, 15 minutes off the Bruce Highway, offers secluded campsites set on a large tidal creek. There are plenty of trees and shelter. The creek offers fishing, crabbing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, boating and swimming. Fire pits and picnic areas make the sites perfect for evening relaxation with bird life and jumping fish, talking about the day's fishing or eating the day's crab catch. Limited firewood is sometimes available. It can be bought at a reasonable price about 9km along the road towards Burrum Heads.. Campers must be self-contained with their own toilet and shower and need to remove their rubbish. Particularly suitable for RVs and caravans with own toilet. Well suited for overnight travelers passing between Maryborough and Bundaberg, or others needing a few days rest, fishing or water activities. Sandflies are a problem in this region anywhere near water, in the mornings until about 9am and in the evenings after about 3:30pm, so bring plenty of repellent and apply early and often. Sites are 30-40 metres apart with a maximum of 8 vehicles and their occupants in the whole property. No overcrowding! Pricing: Basic booking is for a vehicle with caravan, or an RV, and 2 people. Some sites can accommodate more than 1 caravan - if you are travelling with others and want to share a site, please make a separate booking for them at one of the other sites and feel free to get them to share your site instead.
