We have 6 different sites for caravan and RVs/ tents. It is a former cattle farm that is being currently reforested to the original Big Scrub rainforest. The proceeds from Hipcamp are used to reforest the land. PLEASE make sure to take your garbage away and remember the campsites are for fully contained campers only (no toilets on site). You NEED to be fully contained to stay in the property. You can enjoy walking around and explore the magic sunsets of the Byron Hinterland. There are a few billabong/ creeks and a mowed nature walk path.

Jerrapark is just far enough away from towns and cities to feel remote and wild. Some guests have remarked half joking that as they enter the property it feels a bit more like Jurassic Park. A section of the farm has been preserved as rainforest…where towering palms and ghost like eucalypts stand over boulder strewn creeks that sometimes flood with roaring force. Everywhere there are wallabies, goannas and the weather sentinels…the black cockatoos. Bird lovers will find it is an excellent place to go birdwatching. Take a stroll through the verdant pecan forest where our horses graze…sit by the bubbling creek…and if you are very quiet you just might glimpse a platypus foraging. When the weather turns hot and steamy take a splash in one of the dams or wander down and sit under the waterfall that cascades most months of the year. Here is a wonderful place to meditate…a primal grotto watched over by towering gums and palms. Luxuriate in our newly added spa, including a Hot tub and a Sauna, to detox and relax! Later reconnoitre up the hill and glimpse our small part of the ancient caldera with Mt Warning (Wollumbin) in the distance. While you are there pick some ripe mangoes and take them home for a sweet treat. Back at the carriages the herb garden will assault your senses with the aroma of wild basil, thyme, lavender, lemon balm and mint…weaving a spell to enthuse you to cook up something mouth-watering in the kitchen.

You NEED to be fully contained to stay in the property. You can enjoy walking around and explore the magic sunsets of the Byron Hinterland. Access to the campsites is a short distance off the Cunningham Highway gate entry. Preference is for all vehicle types. Offroad RV length is limited to under 20ft. The type of vehicle and RV will dictate where your campsite would be located. Pets are welcome (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles) but must stay within the camp sites and be restrained by owners. Please do not free roam your pet on this camp site. All pets must be contained to the camp site either on a leash or in their crates. We are at risk of violating the neighbours property should your pets be unresponsive to your voice commands. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping amenities. These are off grid camp grounds with a picnic table, braziers and camp bin available for communal use. Firewood of various types can be found along the creek with the option to purchase firewood from our stock.

Jerrapark is just far enough away from towns and cities to feel remote and wild. Some guests have remarked half joking that as they enter the property it feels a bit more like Jurassic Park. A section of the farm has been preserved as rainforest…where towering palms and ghost like eucalypts stand over boulder strewn creeks that sometimes flood with roaring force. Everywhere there are wallabies, goannas and the weather sentinels…the black cockatoos. Bird lovers will find it is an excellent place to go birdwatching. Take a stroll through the verdant pecan forest where our horses graze…sit by the bubbling creek…and if you are very quiet you just might glimpse a platypus foraging. When the weather turns hot and steamy take a splash in one of the dams or wander down and sit under the waterfall that cascades most months of the year. Here is a wonderful place to meditate…a primal grotto watched over by towering gums and palms. Luxuriate in our newly added spa, including a Hot tub and a Sauna, to detox and relax! Later reconnoitre up the hill and glimpse our small part of the ancient caldera with Mt Warning (Wollumbin) in the distance. While you are there pick some ripe mangoes and take them home for a sweet treat. Back at the carriages the herb garden will assault your senses with the aroma of wild basil, thyme, lavender, lemon balm and mint…weaving a spell to enthuse you to cook up something mouth-watering in the kitchen.

Great location to explore Brisbane and Gold Coast theme parks. We tripped into Brisbane twice and it was so easy with the translink nearby. Grass is overgrown and could be mowed especially the entrance way. The turn into the driveway is a bit tight off the road as you come in but we managed it with our 22ft van. We love staying at Olive View Estate Scenic Rim. The wide open spaces, rolling hills and mountain views are spectacular. Waking up to the sounds of birds and insects as the sun rises from behind the mountains of the Gold Coast Hinterland is so beautiful. The sun setting over the Main Range mountains of the Scenic Rim lights up the sky with the most beautiful golden hues. When the stars come out, the constellations are clearly visible due to the lack of light polution. Olive View Estate is our favourite glamping destination. We always head home feeling refreshed and revitalised.

We loved spending our first weekend in our new caravan at Olive View. Beautiful views, nice grassy areas to set up camp. Lindsay and Kate communicated well and checked in on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. It was lovely to see the kangaroos resting in the shade of the olive trees. The little shop in the old bus was very cute. We will definitely return someday.

We stayed for 2x nights in a tent. Beautiful spot, short drive to Potsville for swimming. The view over the farm is fantastic, and extra special having the horses free roaming amoung the tents, they were so friendly and easy to pat. Daughters loved it. Pretty open and grassy so bring a canape if you want some shade.

Where to go

Tamborine Mountain

A short drive north of Canungra, Mt. Tamborine National Park is brimming with natural wonders. Hike to waterfalls, explore magical glow-worm caves, swim in natural rock pools, and look out for rare birds such as Albert’s lyrebird. While you’re in the region, stop by the town of Tamborine Mountain to browse the shops and check out the foodie scene. 

Lamington National Park

Just south of Canungra, Lamington National Park is one of Queensland’s most visited national parks. There are two sections to the park—Green Mountains (O’Reilly’s) and Binna Burra—where you can enjoy bushwalking through UNESCO-listed rainforest, go wildlife-watching, and cool off at natural swimming holes. Camping options range from powered sites and glamping spots to bush camping in the heart of the rainforest. 

Gold Coast

Brisbane and the Gold Coast are just a short drive from Canungra, where you can get your fill of sun, sand, and surf. Check into a holiday park or caravan park in Southport, Nerang, or Surfers Paradise, then visit the Gold Coast’s famous theme parks, go kayaking around the canals, or chill out at the white-sand beaches.

When to go

The Gold Coast is Queensland’s quintessential summer vacation destination, and the sun shines year-round in the hinterlands too. Summer temperatures tend to be slightly cooler in the hinterlands, making Canungra a good place to escape the heat and the crowds of the Gold Coast from December through January. Alternatively, the warm winter weather is ideal for outdoor activities, and you can also enjoy annual events such as the Canungra show (August) and Canungra Rodeo (July).
