Great place to camp for the night, directions were very straight forward. Alex was a legend who gave me some info in the surrounding areas.
Great private campsite overseeing nice views. Easy access and closeby to hiking trails.
We stayed two nights at Alex’s place. Even in the middle of beautiful views of the main range and of a lovely dam which is constantly visited by thousands of dragonflies then thousands of frogs at night. Alex’s let us know that the cicadas are very loud (January), to the point the dogs were a little stressed, however we’d still recommend the campsite. The campsite is below Alex’s home, and it was nice to meet Alex shortly after our arrival. We had excellent firewood waiting for us (well worth the extras bundle) but sadly we got a large storm so fire was not meant to be.

Dragonfly Dam and Main Range View
Alex is a really is a really friendly host and very welcoming and accommodating. The communication and directions make Alex’s camp very easy to find. The dam is west to the campground with the range also in view making for a great spot for the evening sunset blended with a nice campfire.
Great spots for a quick getaway. When we arrived, the host welcomed us and gave a few helpful suggestions for nearby points of interest, but otherwise gave us our space.
The location was quiet enough, being close to a road. Lovely view of the dam and nearby mountains. Was a peaceful spot to watch birds and dragonflies, and go to sleep to the sounds of frogs.

A very cute camping spot all to myself! I opted for early check in for the day but on the day didn’t get in until later. Alex was lovely and refunded the early check in fee.

Dragonfly Dam and Main Range View
Dragonfly Dam site was peaceful, private and a tidy level little site for my campervan. It was easy to find. Great for a quick getaway from the busy Gold Coast.

Really nice location, quite private and peaceful by the dam. Campsite was relatively flat at the fire pit was a nice warm touch. Also a very cute dog likes to come say hello so make sure to say hi.

lovely spot, host so nice, goats a bonus. Fire place perfect. Can't fault it.
An excellent location, the camping spot is in a stunning setting above the dam. Looking across the dam in the evening watching the setting sun was so pleasant. We chose here because we did hikes in the area and it’s a private setting. Would definitely recommend. Alex is a kind host and has very cool pet goats !!

Great spot. Very picturesque setting.
Alex welcomed us on arrival. We stayed below the dam and still had great view. A slight slope but ok with some chocks for our camper trailer.
Lots to offer in the area…..lake moogerah for a swim. Lookout close by.

Dragonfly Dam and Main Range View
Small compact site, views and location magic. We took our J-pod in, in reverse, awkward but OK. A bigger van may have issues. As a tent site-perfect. Watching the sun on the range move from dawn to dusk was pretty special. The night sky was clear and bright, so much to see. A few Willy wagtails were entertaining.

Area was easy to find, Friendly Hosts that pointed everything available. Setup area was all ready with plenty of wood.. Peace and quite was great , my dog swam in the lake and we just chilled around the fire at night..
Even with a windy arvo I was quite sheltered from the trees around. If you just want some privacy and to relax with the available Dams and Mountains areas nearby to go checkout, Hit up Alex at DragonFly Lake you'll enjoy a nice quite homebase.
