There are plenty of activities to try around town, from bushwalking, exploring the Rail Trail in Murwillumbah and downhill mountain biking at the Uki Mountain Bike Park (Less then 8Km from our property). The property is just 5km from the beautiful village of Uki. Uki is a place where community spirit hums. Village markets every Saturday selling local foods and crafts. The Old buttery offers ‘the Uki Buttery Bazaar Market’ on the 3rd Sunday of every month. Don’t forget to pop into the Uki Trading Post (Bastion Lane) for the Best coffee in Australia. The Mt Warning Hotel situated in Uki Village also offers all meals as takeaways and a complementary curtesy bus running from Friday 5PM through to Sunday. Stock up on supplies at the village General Store. Pet welcome on leash and under control. Campfires are permitted within local regulations. We do have a bathtub’s on four sites. Campers should leave no trace. We are a short drive from the beautiful Hell’s hole, Unicorn falls and Mavis Kitchens. You can even see Platypus in the early mornings, playing in the creek. All of the camp areas are easily access-able and flat, usually 2wd car is all you need. On every second sunday of the month, the Channon Markets are on, which is just 10 minutes drive from camp. Sorry, we can't cater for dogs due to camp being a native animal sanctuary. Dunoon village is cute yet, very practical. There is a general store, bottle shop and they sell ice, Mechanic, Post Office and the best bit, you can even go out for dinner or lunch depending on the day, at the Dunoon Sports Club/ Pub or Channon Tavern, then head back to your secluded country camp and cool off in the beautiful creek or warm up and enjoy some quality time around the camp fire!

Thankyou for considering Dungarubba Fields. We offer you a well located and secure camp-site to explore the North Coast or for that overnight stay while you are travelling to your destination and need a safe place to camp. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. At The Good Life, we’re big on personal space. Every campsite is large, private and genuinely secluded, giving you the feeling you’re a long way from everyone and everything. Your own patch of paradise. No caravan awnings poking you in the eye, no surprise drop-ins, and no listening to your neighbour’s snoring, generator or life story. Bliss. Forget your phone alarm. Your morning wake-up call is the local kookaburra choir having a proper laugh at life. This is a true back-to-nature escape for anyone needing to pull up a stump, slow right down and properly unplug. If bird watching, stargazing or simply doing sweet nothing is your idea of a good time, you’ll fit right in. Dogs are very welcome. Keep them on a lead while you’re wandering the property, then let them be their goofy, happy selves back at camp. Campfires are practically mandatory. Every site has its own fire pit, and if you burn through your firewood faster than a pollie breaks a promise, we can sort you out with more for a small fee. Now for a quick reality check. We’re not the Hilton. In fact, we don’t provide any amenities at all. No toilets, no showers, no bins. Think of The Good Life as a safe, private slice of bush that feels like the middle of nowhere, because it pretty much is. You’ll need to be fully self-contained and take everything you bring in back out with you. Leave only footprints and good memories. What you do with your time is entirely up to you. Park yourself in a camp chair with a book, wander the farm, or lace up your boots and explore around 70 acres of bush tracks. When night falls, the stars put on a serious show and the silence is so complete you can actually hear yourself think. There’s no phone service and no Wi-Fi. Consider it a feature, not a bug. It’s the perfect excuse to ignore your emails. If you feel like venturing out, the Orara Valley and Coffs Coast offer stunning rainforests, beaches, waterfalls and swimming holes, all within a 30-minute drive.

Located 19 km due east of the famous historical village of Tenterfield the working, cattle breeding, property "Mindoo" has recently opened its gates to campers. Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. There are goats (with babies) in a paddock next to Site 2, and a horse paddock with 6 horses. We do have a water tap though to fill your tanks and a couple of electric plugs to charge your essentials (check the small old shed close to Site 1). We have 6 different sites for caravan and RVs/ tents. It is a former cattle farm that is being currently reforested to the original Big Scrub rainforest. The proceeds from Hipcamp are used to reforest the land. PLEASE make sure to take your garbage away and remember the campsites are for fully contained campers only (no toilets on site). You NEED to be fully contained to stay in the property. You can enjoy walking around and explore the magic sunsets of the Byron Hinterland. There are a few billabong/ creeks and a mowed nature walk path.

HIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE! Pure. Unadulterated. WILD. 104 very private acres, securely sandwiched between a National Park Nature Reserve and State Forest. On a dead end road. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. Today the property is registered with Land For Wildlife and hosts a very wide mix of native vegetation communities. ACTIVITIES Bird watch. Climb. Abseil. Photograph wildflowers. Paint. Swim. In the next valley there's even gold to be found. Explore trails by mountain bike. Whale watch. Surf. Learn SCUBA. Go beach-combing. Catch a mudcrab. Go whitewater river rafting. The large and grassy campsites are located on the banks of the Clarence River where you can enjoy fishing, swimming, water skiing and jet skiing. Guests staying with us are required to be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Campers can launch a boat from the property to enjoy all the river has to offer. You can drive the boat to the Ulmarra Hotel nearby, they have a jetty where you can park and enjoy a feed and a drink. You also can take the Ulmarra Ferry and Drive to the Ulmarra Hotel for dinner or lunch. You can access the property via road from Grafton or via Ferry from Lawrence and Maclean. We are located just 11kms from Grafton should you need any supplies. Please note, caravans are not permitted on the Ferry but camper trailers are okay. We farm Hay on the property and do have some friendly cattle around who may wander past to say hello. Campfires are permitted outside of fire restrictions. Sorry, no pets.

Rocky River Play Station is a large, working bush property on the banks of the Timbarra River, about 20 km / 30 minutes south of Drake Village — an old gold-mining community tucked into the NSW Northern Rivers hinterland. This is a place for slowing down, getting muddy, swimming in rivers, watching light change across the hills, and sharing space with wildlife and our resident cows. Your hosts live further back on the property. We’re close enough to help if needed, but far enough away that you’ll feel properly off-grid. There is no mobile reception, which many guests find is part of the magic. If you’re craving real disconnection, you’ll find it here. This is a leave-no-trace property: - There are no bins — please take all rubbish with you when you leave. - Campfires are welcome when there is no fire ban. Tiger's Rest is a vacant piece of land on both sides of the Pacific Highway with over 30acres of protected Koala forest. A tunnel connects both sides under highway. There is a spring fed dam to swim in. The property does get wet after big rain but there is always a dry spot to find for a good night's sleep. PLEASE NOTE: Highway noise depends on when you camp and which direction the wind is blowing in. :-) Guests must be full self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities. HIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE! Pure. Unadulterated. WILD. 104 very private acres, securely sandwiched between a National Park Nature Reserve and State Forest. On a dead end road. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. The large and grassy campsites are located on the banks of the Clarence River where you can enjoy fishing, swimming, water skiing and jet skiing. Guests staying with us are required to be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Campers can launch a boat from the property to enjoy all the river has to offer. You can drive the boat to the Ulmarra Hotel nearby, they have a jetty where you can park and enjoy a feed and a drink. You also can take the Ulmarra Ferry and Drive to the Ulmarra Hotel for dinner or lunch. You can access the property via road from Grafton or via Ferry from Lawrence and Maclean. We are located just 11kms from Grafton should you need any supplies. Please note, caravans are not permitted on the Ferry but camper trailers are okay. The host Susannah is extremely helpful and is there if you need her but otherwise your privacy is respected. One of the most beautiful locations we visited on our trip. The views are amazing. You choose where you want to camp - we set up on campsite No. 2 and were the only ones around. Picked up some firewood at the entrance and roasted some marshmallows as the sun set. The compost toilet at this site was a little rough around the edges but there are flushing toilets at the central area.

Mindoo is an incredible property and the owners have done a fantastic job in developing it. It is clear a lot of thought and effort has gone into it. The camping sites are mostly positioned along the river and there is substantial privacy between each. It is a peaceful location with plenty of options to swim and explore. The rock pools are incredible. The facilities are well maintained and Prue was very friendly and checked in to make sure we were settled. Beautiful doggos 😊 We had an issue that was immediately troubleshooted by Prue which we appreciated. Overall a peaceful location, out of the way for a true digital detox getaway.

This place is a true haven of peace. I can only recommend staying here for one or several nights. Nature and all the sounds that come with it are countless, creating a truly delightful auditory experience. I was so happy to be able to light a fire while watching the sunset gently illuminate the mountains. The shower and toilets at my campsite were very clean. I loved being able to cook my breakfast on the gas stove in the morning. As I didn’t have a camping stove, it was a real pleasure to enjoy a freshly cooked, hot breakfast. I highly recommend going for a swim and enjoying the refreshing coolness of the water if you get the chance. A big THANK YOU. This place is truly rejuvenating. I really needed it.

A load of wood is normally replenished once a month and left next to the firepit. There is very limited mobile phone reception along Eukey Road and it is almost non-existent at the camp. Which is great if you want a digital detox! However, there is a way you can still be connected and these details can be provided upon request. There is no toilet... yet. We do sometimes dig a drop toilet but this is not available all the time and it moves frequently. There is a small post hole digger with a bottomless bucket toilet (more affectionately called "Chainsaw") set that you can dig a hole for a toilet and a cage that gives some privacy (see the photos). But please make sure you fill it in with your finished and all the toilet paper is buried at least a foot under the ground. It gets it name from the rodeo bull "Chainsaw" because if you dig the hole too wide and can last 8 seconds on the seat, you're a legend! SO good tip for campers if you want to use it. A favourite thing to do at the camp is to have sundowners on what we call the "Zen Rock". It is a large rock formation about 100m the east of the camp. You can't miss it. There is an incredible amount of bird life around and a family of magpies live in trees just near the camp kitchen (they are friendly). You will often be woken by the Kookaburras and see the gorgeous Rosella's cruising around picking at grass seed. McKenzie Glen provides a swag deck that is large enough for 2 double swags side by side. There is a fully fitted camp kitchen which includes a gas stove. Our point of difference is that for a family who can’t afford all the kitchen camping equipment etc - you will have 'most' of the luxury's of home. You will need an esky for your food and drinks. There is no power, however the kitchen has a small fixed 12 volt system that will run the small pump for the kitchen and the lights. You'll see the switches. There may also be some cattle on the property, they are agisted by my lovely neighbours. They are usually weaners or cows and calves. McKenzie Glen - Granite & Eucalypt Camp is a stones throw of the Girraween National Park, a number of Granite Belt wineries and it is not too far down the road is Storm King Dam where (now that its full) is great for fishing and kayaking and boating. The area used to be mined for Tin. Keep any eye out for lumps of granite rocks on the ground and if your lucky enough you might find some with flicks of tin. If you hold the rock up to the light you can see the fecks shine in the light. If you are a coffee lover like me, there is St. Jude's Cafe down the road on the New England Highway at Ballandean. I highly recommend popping over to Ballandean Estate Wines on Sundowner Road, they've been making wine since 1932. The smell of the food coming from their Barrel Room Restaurant will draw you in even if you're not hungry (you can book a table on line so you don't miss out). And if you like a good country pub meal and a cold beer, then the Ballandean Tavern is the go. Both St. Judes and the Ballandean Tavern are only 8.8km from the camp. To the North of the camp, this bushland is a declared bushfire zone. To stay aware of radio broadcasts, the local ABC channels are 104.9 (ABC radio) 103.3 (Triple J).

Bajimba Eco Camp is part of our stunning family property nestled in the surrounds of Mt Bajimba in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, 40 minutes south east of Tenterfield. Historically known as a resting point for bullock teams hauling timber from the surrounding forests on their way to a saw mill in the lower valley, Bajimba is now home to Merv & Carey. We are just over 1080 metres above sea level, with 57 acres of eucalypt & grass tree forests, grass pastures, and a small (but mighty) organic farm. Accommodation options include "West View “situated at our highest elevation with incredible views from the deck, and "Bullock Camp" which can accommodate tents, caravans or motor homes. When making travel arrangements, note we are in NSW and therefore are 1 hour ahead of QLD during day light savings months. It is encouraged if possible that guests arrive before 6pm to ensure a smooth and stress free check in to camp. Being able to experience the sunset is all a part of your Bajimba stay! Amenities for both sites include an ablution block with hot shower and composting toilet, with steam sauna and wood-fired hot tub available by appointment. Please call at time of booking if hot tub and sauna facilities are required (especially for same-days bookings). Wood fired hot tubs require four hours to heat appropriately. Also note that all toiletries are provided to ensure that our critical farm ecosystem is maintained. When staying at “West View”, we supply Tea, Coffee, Muesli, Full Cream Milk, fresh Eggs from our Hens, Salt & Pepper, Olive Oil, Cast Iron cook ware and a portable sink for cleaning Utensils etc. Also supplied are Plates, Knives & Forks etc. Portable Gas Cooker also supplied if not using the Fire Pit. The Old Peach Farm

This is an old peach farm, set over 25 acres with a quarter of the property cleared (our house and gardens there) and the rest left untouched. Only seven minutes off the Pacific highway but it feels like a world away. Perfect for a nice overnight stop. We've set up the camping area in a nice clearing immersed into the lovely natural forest surroundings. You will be camping next to an awesome lake where you can go for a paddle or a swim. Other than the summer hum of cicadas or the cackle of some resident kookaburras, it's peaceful and private. There are plenty of roos and wallabies around, as well as lots of birdlife including black swans in the lake. You can paddle in the lake and try to catch a fish there. We've set up a little homemade pontoon. So far only one spot to camp (that will fit up to 4 cars if you come in a group), so you will have the place all to yourselves. The next house (our Shouse) is at least 300m away from the camping area, so solitude and privacy is guaranteed. The property is close to plenty of beach options or nice little towns such as Woolgoolga (25 min south) and Grafton (25 minutes north).

Glendaryn, our property, is located 30 kms west of Kyogle and 2 hours from the Gold Coast. Featuring 35 acres consisting mainly of creek flats on the banks of Iron Pot Creek, a permanent creek which runs from nearby Toonumbar dam, this place is perfect to pitch a tent. The dam is only 2 km away and has a boat ramp. Iron Pot provides scenic camping spots with fishing (bass and cat fish), swimming, hiking, kayaking and there are bush roads nearby suitable for horse riding. This campsite welcomes self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower. Fresh drinking water is available at the shed as well as a firepit area however wood is not provided. Bring your horse and put up a yard or safe yards are available. Dogs are welcome as long as they are controlled and don’t chase our horses and the local wild life. There are a variety of camping sites near the creek and also one on the hill overlooking the flats. Creek side spots are dry weather only as the flat can become boggy or you can walk in around 200 metres from road. The property is 2WD accessible.

Camping site is located in 41 acres of natural bush land, the perfect get away for nature lovers, hikers, horse riders and bird watchers. There is a dam and a forested area studded with granite boulders. The property is in an an elevated spot, it has lovely views and great places to camp and there's a lovely yielding atmosphere of peace and tranquility. There are accessible walking trails through the property with several areas of slightly sloping ground. We are a ten minute drive from Girraween National park, a popular haunt for hikers and bird and nature lovers in general. Ballandean winery and the Ballandean pub is also close, it serves affordable and wholesome dinners and there is a shop and a cafe as well as a restaurant there. The town of Jennings is a small, quirky town close to the border, with a population of about 150. Jennings is in two time zones, both QLD and NSW! There are many popular wineries in the region, three of which have wonderful restaurant meals. 13 minutes drive going south, is the much-loved federation town of Tenterfield - with appealing cafes, clothes shops, country outfitters, the famous Tenterfield Saddlery and a cinema which seats about 50, a railway museum, a stylish yet friendly Commercial Hotel for eating out and a historic café where federation was called into being by Henry Parkes. There are occasional Saturday morning markets too. A fun place to hang out! No motorbikes or hunting please. This land is for wildlife and supports wallabies, kangaroos and a variety of birds. On walks around the property you can spot various delicate purple, white, yellow and rust coloured flowers.
