Private sites
99% of recent Hipcampers say the sites felt private.
At The Good Life, we’re big on personal space. Every campsite is large, private and genuinely secluded, giving you the feeling you’re a long way from everyone and everything. Your own patch of paradise. No caravan awnings poking you in the eye, no surprise drop-ins, and no listening to your neighbour’s snoring, generator or life story. Bliss.
Forget your phone alarm. Your morning wake-up call is the local kookaburra choir having a proper laugh at life. This is a true back-to-nature escape for anyone needing to pull up a stump, slow right down and properly unplug. If bird watching, stargazing or simply doing sweet nothing is your idea of a good time, you’ll fit right in.
Dogs are very welcome. Keep them on a lead while you’re wandering the property, then let them be their goofy, happy selves back at camp. Campfires are practically mandatory. Every site has its own fire pit, and if you burn through your firewood faster than a pollie breaks a promise, we can sort you out with more for a small fee.
Now for a quick reality check. We’re not the Hilton. In fact, we don’t provide any amenities at all. No toilets, no showers, no bins. Think of The Good Life as a safe, private slice of bush that feels like the middle of nowhere, because it pretty much is. You’ll need to be fully self-contained and take everything you bring in back out with you. Leave only footprints and good memories.
What you do with your time is entirely up to you. Park yourself in a camp chair with a book, wander the farm, or lace up your boots and explore around 70 acres of bush tracks. When night falls, the stars put on a serious show and the silence is so complete you can actually hear yourself think.
There’s no phone service and no Wi-Fi. Consider it a feature, not a bug. It’s the perfect excuse to ignore your emails.
If you feel like venturing out, the Orara Valley and Coffs Coast offer stunning rainforests, beaches, waterfalls and swimming holes, all within a 30-minute drive.

Hidden Grotto - Site 8
Booked 5 times
Tent site · Sleeps 2
Hidden Grotto is the highest campsite on the property, giving you two very different ways to camp, depending on your mood. Set up on the upper area and you’ll be looking out through the treetops, with cooling breezes and a leafy outlook that feels nicely removed from the rest of the world. Choose the lower spot and you’re right down in the bush instead, sheltered, secluded, and genuinely hidden away.
This is a small, low-impact campsite, surrounded by nothing but bush. It's ideal for a swag or a small tent, with space for a compact campervan. 4WD is recommended. The access track is part of the adventure, and helps keep this spot as private as private can be.
A great choice for solo travellers or couples after elevation, privacy, and a proper bush hideaway 🌲

This campsite offers a tranquil escape into nature, with guests consistently praising its peaceful, secluded setting. Many appreciate the spacious and private campsites, often highlighting the friendly and welcoming hosts, Ro and Dan, who go above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. The area is well-maintained and provides ample opportunities for relaxation, with several reviews mentioning the enjoyment of campfires under the stars. Even when faced with challenging weather, visitors note the hosts' helpfulness in navigating the terrain, which underscores the property's appeal for those seeking a serene off-grid experience.
We had a great stay at The Good Life Camping we stayed at Water Lilly Views and were shown directly to our camp by Dan. We were surrounded by birds, frogs and pond wildlife. A beautiful afternoon cooking dinner and sitting by the fire. I would recommend if you want to switch off with no service and privacy. Close to nearby 4x4 tracks and Scout falls also!!
Gorgeous property to stay on! We felt like we were worlds away from society. Quiet and secluded spot, no other campers in sight. We enjoyed walking the 4WD tracks and just relaxing in our spacious spot. Fire wood was included, such a rare and generous gift. And to top it off Ro was a beautiful, welcoming host. Definitely recommend staying here.
What a fabulous spot!!! Just beautiful and we'll definitely be back. Stayed overnight on a road trip, camped in our swag. Plenty of good burning wood for the camp fire. Wonderful host, Ro was so lovely. This is an idyllic property, we didn't want to leave!
What a beautiful spot we had, felt like in the middle of the bush all by ourselves. Just wish we could have stayed longer. Hosts were lovely and very welcoming. Loved everything about this stay.
Having a place to camp with a dog that is fear reactive of other dogs was fantastic, they even offered to change location knowing another dog would have been in view to make the experience a breeze. thank you so much, would highly recommend 😁 10/10 will camp here again.
We stayed at the waterlily pond campsite…. Simply magical location. With our van awning a meter from the waters edge, it was tranquil and relaxing. We had 2+ days of torrential rain which detracted nothing for us. We loved it. The silence was only broken just after we set up by dan appearing from nowhere with chainsaw in hand. In less than 5 minutes we had a decent pile of firewood. Dan and Ro are such a lovely couple and do helpful. We were met at the gate by 3 friendly barking dogs but the campsites are well away from the house so that was a bonus knowing they were guarding the front entrance. We were there after some prolonged rain so the access in was fairly slippy and Dan was there to assist and guide us in. After the two days of torrential rain just before we left the access out was extremely slippy. We needed our 4WD in low range and diff lock and Dan lept into action to hook on his 4wD to assist with the final 20 meters when we lost traction. We highly highly highly recommend this hipcamp. Only thing, if towing a van , just check with Dan in advance what the access is like. We just happened to be unlucky with the weather. And there is the best cafe at nearby nana glen and the most amazing pie shop nearby ‘Glenreagh Bakery.
Really beautiful and spacious property, the sites are quite large and well separated, there were a couple of other campers during our stay but once we were at our site you'd never know they were there. Dan and Ro were super friendly and accomodating, made everything very easy and comfortable. Would definitely stay again if we end up out this way in the future. Also the resident pups were all very cute.
It was a great campsite, we felt safe and secure on the property. Ro and Dan were amazing, made sure we were made very welcome and were very helpful. Beautiful campsites, not just ours. We highly recommend and will be back.
Thanks to you both for letting us have some of “The Good Life” 😊
Everywhere I’ve been so far has had awesome hosts and great areas well looked after with heaps of beautiful views and things to do.Absolutely love this site 👌
Dan and Ro were great hosts with excellent communication. The site was easy to find and beautifully secluded. The camp spot was lovely, with a fire pit and wood supplied, which made it perfect for sitting around an open fire and relaxing. This site is on a slight incline so we set up in the flatter area towards to water lily pond.
Spent a lovely night at Dan and Ro’s property, the campsites are large and spaced apart so you have plenty of space between neighbouring campers, lovely and peaceful by the dam would absolutely recommend to anyone travelling in the area
This was a beautiful well maintained camp site and the hosts were lovely, showing us to our site and giving recommendations as we left the next day. Would definitely recommend!
First time user of Hip Camp. This site could not have been more perfect. So much space to enjoy, a lovely campfire, and the best view of the milky way. I only wish I was local and could be a regular.
