Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses. If you want exclusive use of the paddocks, refer to Group Bush Retreat.

We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. For the kids, we have our newly finished aquatic centre with splash park, and two bmx pump tracks and skate parks. We are located a short 20min drive to "Rambo" the big ram, which is on the list of big things located within Australia. Walk to the top and experience the local sheep industry history as well as shop local produce and giftware. Located a 20min drive west to the beautiful country towns of Crookwell and Taralga, where you can find country pubs, boutique eateries and shops or why not visit Taralga wildlife park for your up close encounter with some animals. Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads at ALL times as this is a working farm and protecting our wildlife is priorty. You MUST bring your own camping toilet and be COMPLETELY 100% self sufficient with everything including drinking water. We have a Leave No Trace policy, so ask that you please take all waste with you as we dont have a bin service. Strictly No Pre Booking tours of campsites allowed, a good description and photos of each campsite is available online. The Mulligans Flat Reserve, about 10 minutes away, is a real first in Australia, given that a very large area has been set aside near Canberra to foster wildlife. My little grandson and I loved camping for 2 nights at Yifu's place. When we arrived there were alpacas cooling off in the pond and geese honking their welcome. Yifu was extremely friendly and we enjoyed the farm tours led by his terrific son. We loved seeing the rabbits and guinea pigs. Missy the pony was lovely to pat and feed. My granny loved the playground, the cubbyhole and trampoline. It was a peaceful and very enjoyable break from Canberra. We will return! Big thanks to Yifu and his family for their thoughtful additions to our camping experience 🥰

Very accomodating, peaceful and safe. I camped here with my 9 year old son and it felt very kid friendly. Good toilets available and even a farm tour, firewood and eggs! Thank you for being lovely hosts. Very sweet farm animals also :)

The Campervan at Margot's was the perfect getaway for someone who doesn't have all the gear but still enjoys some time outdoors! The owners were very attentive and welcoming of me and my dog. We went hiking on the property and surrounding towns. Its proximity to Canberra and wineries also make it the perfect little getaway!

Sarah, the gracious host met us at the entrance and made us feel comfortable. The paddock we were allocated had a beautiful view of the Rowley Hills of Canberra, and by Moonlight was divine.

Lovely quiet spot; don’t tell anyone. Sunset and sunrise from the big hill highly recommended and the view is spectacular. Had a bath on the way up, met the cows but the sheep were shy. Will happily return.

Weekend Trip to Everlong

Camp site was great. We had a little creek to ourselves to go for a dip, and the big river was just around the corner (could walk or drive). Saw so much wildlife! Would definitely recommend going for a walk with a spotlight at night time. We saw eels, tawny frogmouth. Canoes are provided to go up the river. Anthony was a great host. We will be back :)

The place is easy to access and being closer to Canberra being a first time camper my apprehension was less as I knew I can come back anytime. Waking up to the kangaroos, ducks and Rabbits right next to the tent was an amazing experience. The toilets being nearby was a comfort.

Stayed one night with my dog on my way to Geelong. Site 1 is standalone, fully fenced, and private (far enough from Sites 2 and 3). My city dog had a bit of culture shock seeing cows, as well as hopping kangaroos and hares on the property Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay here — the place is absolutely beautiful and incredibly peaceful. It was perfect for our son who loved the animals and play equipment. It felt like a true escape while still being just outside Canberra. Yifu was an exceptional host and went above and beyond to make our stay extra special for our family. He was very responsive, easy to communicate with, and happy to help with any questions. We also appreciated how flexible and approachable he was when it came to our bookings. We would absolutely recommend this spot to families or anyone looking for a relaxing, peaceful getaway.

We stayed at Tryg’s on the way down the coast to Mallacoota & we wish we could have stayed longer, we were only there for a night, absolutely brilliant spot by the river we had the whole place to ourselves. Would be great for a family gathering or bunch of friends - highly recommend 👍
