We are a 5 min drive to the historic township of Bungendore where you can find plenty of shopping and cafes. It's just a 25 min drive to Queanbeyan and a 30 min drive to Canberra CBD. We are about 1.5 hours from Batemans Bay and the NSW south coast. The night sky here is mesmerising. The milky way core is visible from January through to November and is an astrophotographer's dream. Bring a camera!Our property is set up on a hill overlooking the valley towards Lake George. Our property is set up on a hill overlooking the valley towards Lake George. The campsites have flat grassy areas with rows of pine trees around two sides of the camping area.  This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water supply. We booked for the long weekend, the area itself was smaller than expected given the photos but fine for what we needed. It is however extremely close to a main road and so there was traffic (including large trucks) noise all day and all night, makes it hard to enjoy the serenity of camping. Would be a lovely spot to camp if you can look past the noise.

Great place to pull up camp for the night, beside the highway so no lengthy detours on your trip! I’m a solo female who felt super safe here with great phone reception and cleared land. You can hear the odd traffic but didn’t bother me at all. Would stay again if travelling through

We loved camping in our tent at Forest Elbow. It was a private, spacious, flat and dry site with a fire pit and just 5 mins drive to Bungendore with its lovely shops and cafes. Kylie kindly showed us all her animals, our son loved feeding the Alpacas! even though there was plenty of room we our dog on a lead as she could have gotten through some of the fences onto a busy road.

Site itself was great, with beautiful views back towards the farm, sheep and cows grazing. We enjoyed looking at the stars with our children. The site is close to a major road and as we were camping in a tent with our children the noise from the road kept them awake during the night.

Great Flat site Easy to access

This is a lovely flat site with a fantastic stone fire pit. It has easy access and the views from the top of the hill are spectacular (well worth the walk) Super close to Bungendore, we had a delicious breakfast and great coffee at Cafe Woodworks. It is worth noting that this site backs directly onto the Kings Highway, and whilst you can’t see the highway due to mature trees there is a fair amount of traffic noise.

We had our first EVER trip in our new hybrid caravan. The land was beautiful, easy to get to and easy to setuo camp on. Our kids loved seeing the animals and running around next to the lavender bushes. Location is fantastic, very close to the Bungendore village. The hosts were lovely and showd us where to park up and what to see on their farm. I would stay here again💓💙

Perfect campsite to explore the local area. Flat camp site well away from any houses with easy access to site. Short scenic drive to Canberra and surrounding areas. Fantastic hosts thankyou

Billy and Kylie are very friendly and welcoming! They greeted us at the gate when we arrived and made sure we were comfortable. Their farm is beautiful! It offers breathtaking views of Lake George and the surrounding mountains. They are a working sheep and lavender farm and have some of the friendliest sheep we have ever met. They would all come running to you when you walked up to the paddock fence and had very funny personalities. The area was very private and was an amazing space to kick back and relax. I would recommend Forest Elbow to anyone in and around the Bungendore and Canberra area.

Absolutely loved our stay here! Super easy to find off the Highway, such a spacious, flat and grassy designated camping area that our dogs loved to play in. The host was there to greet us and give us a run down of the property, that interestingly runs as a lavender farm! We adored all of the animals especially their names! The views were absolutely spectacular everywhere direction you looked. We can’t wait to be back! Note: Bungendore is a super cute town, with farmers markets on Saturdays and nice selection of little shops to check out, the public park ammenities were very updated, clean and well looked after.

This was a beautiful place to camp. We were there to visit the Tulip Top Gardens only 15 minutes away and Bungendore is also worth exploring. We loved our time here. A great fire pit and the walk up the hill is definitely worth it for the amazing view, especially at sunset.

Great campsite next to highway! Lots of beautiful sheep and alpacas! Spacious site with fire pit sheltered by trees from the wind. Friendly host and incredible stars.

A Panoramic Photographer's Delight!

Host: Amazing. Communicative before & on arrival, meeting me at the gate, giving me a little tour & understanding of the working Lavender Farm. As a solo female traveler & being the only camper there, I felt safe, comfortable knowing if I ever needed assistance, help was only a message away. The Location: The Panoramic Views. Stunning. Sunrise, Sunset & the Milky Way in between if you're an avid long exposure photographer. This is the place to be. Will definitely return when the lavender fields are in bloom.

Owners were super lovely. We arrived a little late in the arvo and they had no issue with this, came to greet us and showed us around. Would highly recommend this spot :)
