I had a wonderful night at The Ridge! I set up camp as the sun was setting, roos were all about. Easy to find with lovely hosts, I recommended this place to anyone looking for a night or more in the area! I was only in Braidwood for the night but have already messaged all of my friends to say we need to come back and camp here. Thanks for having me! X

The Ridge
The Ridge is an incredibly beautiful property, with some diverse areas for wandering including a magical creek. We loved meeting and feeding the goats and learning more about them! We also loved watching all of the roos and wombats too!
John and Pippa were incredibly generous hosts, and very knowledgable about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed yarning with them and especially loved and recommend their homemade bread and chicken egg add ons - both are ridiculously fresh and delicious.
We super enjoyed our time at the Ridge and highly recommend a stay, we deeply look forward to returning - thanks so much for having us Pippa and John!

Had an absolutely lovely time at The Ridge - the hosts are both a delight and John would frequently check to make sure I was okay with everything. The goats are darling and just a joy to watch as they do their thing. Both the bread and the eggs were a smashing addition.

This place is fantastic, peaceful and being a single site, fantastic if you want a getaway without the extra crowds of caravan parks or multi-site properties. The Hosts are very a friendly and good natured bunch, their chickens produce some really good eggs, so order yourself some of those, and the goats wandering around are harmless and fun to feed. I will be back!

Lovely drive to the property, easy access to camp site and beautiful views. Super quiet with friendly hosts and lovely walks. As a lone female camper I felt safe and secure. Highly recommend.

A weekend at the Ridge provided exactly what my wife and I were after. A weekend where we did nothing but relax. The hosts, John and Pippa, were wonderful and very welcoming at their property.
The walk with John and the Goats was insightful. John is full of fun facts about the area and, of course, Goats. To our surprise, the walk with the goats was very calming.
The camp spot was great with a terrific view of the valley. It had plenty of options as to where you could set up your camp. There was a lo a very well-kept fireplace
I would strongly recommend the addition of the Eggs and the bread; they were great.
We will definitely be returning, I would say, many times.

Spent an amazing 2 nights @ The Ridge with my wife who was a first-time camper and she loved every minute of being in the outdoors! Apart from the beautiful sights of the kangaroos and other wildlife as well as the sounds of the birds, we enjoyed the gorgeous night sky in the warmth of the fire pit. While our second night was uncooperative weatherise, we still enjoyed our trip on the whole. Pippa and John are amazing hosts, friendly, accomodating with our questions and it was a treat meeting the pet goats cruising along the place! Bonus were the farm fresh dozen eggs and delicious home baked bread which is available to purchase as part of your booking, along with the coffee on a windy day. Will definitely return soon.

Absolutely beautiful piece of land. Well maintained and looked after campsite, with a lovely views.
The goats are some of the biggest and friendliest goats I've ever seen. Cute as.
You can tell the owners take pride in all aspects of their property.

After having a wonderful time at The Ridge, we had to share the experience with our children, so we returned for a second stay over the Easter weekend. Yet again, we had the best time. The campsite is beautiful and private with great walkks. We highly recommend ordering the bread and going on the walk with John and the goats. Our only regret is ordering only one bread as it was so delicious. We will definitely return in the future.

Amazing time at the Ridge. Really beautiful spot, stunning views with plenty of activities to keep us busy. The property and campsite are really well maintained, easy to access and John and Pippa were the perfect hosts.
Highly recommend to take up the option for the delicious bread. The morning walk with John and the goats was well worth it, my 7 year old was looking forward to it all week, and it did not disappoint! We'll be back!

Very serene place to unwind with some lovely walks around the property. John and Pippa were very prompt communicators, and we really enjoyed the home baked bread and stories about the goats that wander around! Thanks for a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful time at this property - we were a bit unlucky with some gusty wind and the flies, but this was totally overshadowed by the warm hospitality and stunning views. We took advantage of the freshly baked bread, beautiful eggs and took a walk with the goats in the morning. We will absolutely be back ☀️ thank you for having us.

Loved our time at The Ridge. Great uninterrupted views down into the valley and so tranquil. Definitely a great quiet spot to spend a few nights. The freshly baked bread from John and Pippa was outstanding and we loved walking down to the creek with John and his goats.

The peace was fantastic and John was lovely.
Get the bread if you have the chance and enjoy it warm in the morning sun.
Lovely little walks and not far from Canberra so was a great place to stop.

Beautiful campground , nice grassy ( mowed ) area with 🔥 fireplace and table and chairs . Lots of wildlife too , peaceful and quiet , lots of walking and exploring. Little river with swimming spots . A beautiful piece of paradise. View of subalpine terrain was amazing with splendid sunsets and wonderful star shows. Abundant bird life and spoiled with nightly visits from gang gang cockatoos. The built in fire pit was well used and perfect. John and Pippa were generous hosts. Highlight was a walk with John and the goats who were cheeky and adorable. We also booked the fresh bread option and weren’t disappointed - YUM!

“All that Gubbins”
This is the favourite saying of ex-pat British owner John of the property.I’d never heard it before but I came to decide he meant “what you can leave behind.” The campsite offered is exactly where you can leave all that gubbins behind you and just bask in the magnificence of the area. The campsite sits 500m from the main house on a gently sloping hill with an enormous view of the heavens at night. The surrounding grasslands and gum forests fade off into the distance during the day. $30 a day is a fair price for the hill, fireplace and wood and Pippa’s home made soy and linseed bread for $6 is a good as you will get in any artisan bakery. I recommend a 3 - 5 day stay to let the place sink in. The nearest town of Bungendore can cater to most needs and is 20 minutes away.
Your mornings will start with Kookaburras, Magpies, Crimson Rosellas and Gang Gang Cockatoos.
Morning walks with John are always accompanied by his band of merry, well fed goats, and always a pleasant experience. The goats may rule the paddocks this is really wombat country. Wombats bellies flatten out everything they touch, their presence is everywhere in the form of wombat trails through the grass, shrubs and hills with tunnels and pathways.
Red robins make an appearance around morning tea until lunchtime.
Later in the afternoon little yellow and brown thornbills will hop through the grass while others chirrup merrily in the surrounding trees. The morning chorus

Pippa and John are welcoming and very generous hosts with a wealth of local knowledge to share. The campsite is very well kept with a dedicated fire pit, mown grass, mown walking tracks and great countryside views. The campsite itself is on a gentle slope and as others have mentioned you likely be visited by their inquisitive friendly goats and a wombat or two. Pippa and John's site is very peaceful and we really enjoyed the opportunity to get away from it all and just relax in the peace and quiet of the countryside. Thanks Pippa and John for a great stay.

The Ridge
2nd stay here. We love this spot, the hosts are so friendly the human one and the goat ones. The views are amazing, the camp fire and the walks, especially the piano graveyard it’s a must see (you’ll need to go to understand). A very relaxing place.
