This was our first Hipcamp experience, and now the bar is set pretty high. It was everything we were hoping for and more. The views are amazing, lots of stars. Loved the quirky touches everywhere. Dwight was super friendly. We will definitely be coming back!
Awesome spot! Great location and lots of hiking right nearby. Lori is a great host, super responsive and helpful. The spots are all spaced out perfectly and we’ll labeled, awesome views. Definitely will visit again
The family and I had a great time, our host Lori was very responsive with every contact both before arriving and during our stay. Each of the camping spot has a great view and are far enough apart that you have your own space. We were lucky that there were no other campers while we were there so we had the whole place to ourselves. The kids enjoyed visiting with the animals. The hiking trail takes you to a secret spot overlooking a far away valley and lake below and we were transported back to the old west! We would love to visit again some day.
Lori’s place is gorgeous and peaceful. Getting there really does feel like going to the edge of the world, but I appreciated knowing there were people nearby in case I needed anything (I didn’t). Make sure to bring your own shade if you’re going during the sunny/hot season as the basic camping spots have no shade. I hope to return to camp there again — for longer — someday soon.
We had a great stay! Lori was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in camping spot 3. Great views, especially at sunset. Good bathroom and outdoor shower set up too. Would highly recommend.
Easy access, great views, goats!
My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time at Westerbilly Ranch. The location is so perfect - conveniently close to the towns of Ramona and Poway and yet we felt like we were camping in a scenic national park. We were worried about the heat being an issue, but the hillside actually had a nice breeze during the day, and we were cool enough to need blankets in our tent at night. By far my favorite part were the animals, especially the goats and the sounds of the peacocks throughout the evening. Will definitely come back again!!
