High Desert Hot Spring Hideout

· Lake Arrowhead, San Bernardino, California
160 acres hosted by Jessica E.
12 RV/tent sites
This property is the perfect place to escape the city and immerse yourself in nature. Nestled in the mountains of the high desert, we invite you to come stay in a peaceful serene setting, where beautiful natural desert scenery and mountain views surround you. The 40 minute hike to the Deep Creek Hot Springs is well worth the effort, and there's so much more natural beauty to see as you explore miles of hiking and OHV trails nearby and right on the property. Weather can be extreme at times, with Winter temps ranging from 20*F to 40* F, and Summer temps peaking at 112F. The cold creek water in the Deep Creek canyon flows all year around, and the 6 creek-side hot spring pools are always full and consistently hot all year around, ranging in temperatures between 90F-108F. The hike to the Deep Creek Hot Springs is fairly steep and can be difficult for some people, especially in warm weather. In order to be prepared with the correct gear to make this hike and know the USFS rules that apply to the area, please educate yourself before coming by visiting the USFS website page for the Deep Creek area and our webpage for the Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground for detailed driving directions to the official trailhead located right on our property. You won't get lost if you park on our property and hike from the trailhead, so make sure you go to the right address. Know before you go! Generally, reservations are not necessary to set up a tent site, but we have a more private area set aside for hipcamp reservations that has separate facilities from the general camping area. We do not recommend bringing children due to occasional nudity that may be seen in the area and the degree of difficulty for the hike. The hike to the hot springs is fairly difficult and everyone’s physical fitness needs to be considered when deciding to take pets, or have children, elderly people, or out-of-shape/over-weight people in your group.Nature and wildlife encompasses you on this rural property that is surrounded by 1,000s of acres of undeveloped BLM and Forestry land. Come escape from the city and relax at a place where you can enjoy yourself amongst others or be by yourself in your own private campsite. With 160 acres, there is lots of space to spread out or find a more private site to seclude yourself! Set up your campsite and park your vehicle at any of our developed sites that have a patch of turf, picnic tables and fire pits (bbq grills available). Flushing toilets and pits toilets, potable water, and showers on site. The main hiking trail starts right on our property, so you won't get lost and it is the shortest hike to the hot springs.

Hot Springs Trailhead Campsites
Would not recommend. I'm not sure who Jessica is, considering I tried calling and no one would answer. Besides that, not a great experience. The guys that run the camp aren't around much. Their dogs chase people and try to attack you for no reason. They make you pay for firewood that doesn't even light on fire. And they don't advertise the Deep Creek Hot Springs well enough. You get lost and there's barely indication on how to find it. Just an overall awful experience.

Deep Creek hot springs base camp
I loved camping here before heading out to Deep Creek hot springs. It was a great base camp. Brent was super welcoming when I arrived and I talked to Jessica the next morning and she gave me tips for making sure I didn't get lost on the way to the springs. The welcoming area was quite eclectic and quirky. They even had a pig that wandered on to their property that they were now keeping as a pet. Whatever you do: (1) Follow Jessica's instructions, not Google's. Luckily I had an AWD vehicle but had to back down 1 hill and power through another one after dark. Took Jessica's directions on the way out and piece of cake. I hadn't noticed her admonishment about Google before I headed to her as I booked immediately before I headed to her place. (2) Ideally don't come after dark (3) If hipcamp says you can't book, check again. It told me I couldn't book about an hour before I actually did book. I was looking for other area hipcamps and suddenly hers was available.

Super fun and relaxing!!
What a fun night! The hip camp section is in the back of the lot and it was pretty easy to get to. We were the only campers there so it was very peaceful! The man at the front of the ranch was very helpful and pleasant . There is signage everywhere to help you and the hike to the hot springs would be a trek for non hikers. It’s no more than a 5 mile round trip (2.5 there and back) so bring plenty of water and towels! Knowing how close I live to this campsite, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is wanting an adventure! Thanks for allowing us to make memories!

Hot Springs Trailhead Campsites
Overall the experience was good, make sure when you get there you don’t go to the knockoff campsite, they will charge you for extra stuff that the real place doesn’t and their maps are outdated and hard to read. And almost got stuck in the mountains due to the hard to read maps. Our campsite did not have the amenities that it should have.

Loved this area! Plenty of space to not be on top of other campers. Hot springs were beautiful. A bit of a hike but my dog and I enjoyed it. Very friendly at check in area, even leant me a phone charger when mine didn’t work. It is far from any stores so be sure you have everything you need.

Good sized campsites, nice trails
Campsites are good sized with fire rings, enjoyed a nice hike to the hotsprings without having to drive in super early.
