The Oasis at Harmon Creek Farms

13 sites ¡ RVs, Tents150 acres ¡ Yadkinville, NC
Update: We have exciting news! WE'RE PUTTING IN A BATHHOUSE!!🛖Yes, I know it's almost too good to be true, but IT IS!! Pictures coming soon, but it will house a shower, sink, toilet and dressing area, and is centrally located in front of the office at the pond. We're doing this to prove WE LOVE OUR CAMPERS! ❤ In addition, two new nicely wooded sites with pond view are now available to provide easy access even during periods of heavy rain. If the creek area floods, we will move your reservation there. :)🏕 Pitch your tent, van or popup on or near the bank of our creek or pond with lots of shade and complete privacy. You can drive right up to most sites, weather permitting. You will have access to a fire ring and picnic table (located at each site), firewood for sale on site (please do not bring firewood from off-site), clean drinking water (located near the pond), the creek to explore, our pond to fish, and wooded trails to hike. Once roamed by Native Americans and now farmed by the same family for over 6 generations, Harmon Creek Farm is a working farm of over 150+ acres. Peace, quiet, tranquility and privacy are overflowing along the creek, and hiking throughout the hills on the backside of the farm (and on the other side of the creek) leads to interesting and abundant flora and fauna. The stocked, spring fed pond is 'brimming" with angler challenges🎣 Our cows, pigs, sheep, donkeys, chickens, ducks, quail, and geese are all eager to meet you, as are we! We currently have fresh eggs, pork and beef for sale on site as well as cured and smoked bacon. We will soon add fresh organically raised vegetables and herbs in season. Like us on Facebook (Harmon Creek Farms of NC) for the latest on what's going on here at the farm. :)

The best camping near Pilot Mountain State Park guide

Overview

About

This majestic 2,000-foot navigational landmark is also a legendary recreational landmark. Iconic Pilot Mountain is custom-made for canoeing, rock climbing, rappelling, and fishing.

Equestrians and hikers find miles of trails to explore. (No mountain bike trails, sorry!) Little Pinnacle Overlook gets hikers up-close with Big Pinnacle, a remnant of the ancient Sauratown Mountains.

Hike the Bean Shoals Canal, Horne Creek, Grindstone, and Corridor Trails. They're three of many in the woodland corridor that connects the park's main area with the Yadkin River section.

Paddle through the park on a scenic 2-mile segment of the Yadkin River Canoe Trail. Drop your line from the river's banks for smallmouth bass, spotted bass and catfish.

A 42-site family campground for tents and trailers is scattered among oaks and hickories. The park offers canoe-in sites and two washhouses with hot showers. Hookups and dump station are not provided.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Pilot Mountain State Park is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the foliage is either blooming or showcasing a kaleidoscope of autumn colors. Summer brings warmth perfect for rock climbing and bird watching, though it can be quite hot. Winters are less crowded but can be chilly, so dress warmly if you venture out during this season.

Know before you go

  • Check the weather forecast before your visit to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for hiking or climbing activities.
  • Be aware of park hours, typically from 8:30am to 5pm, and plan your visit accordingly.
  • Stay on designated trails to protect the park's delicate ecosystems and your own safety.
  • Remember to carry out all trash and leave no trace to help preserve the park's natural beauty.
