The house and and barn are over 90 years old, and belonged to the original owner of the neighborhood, Harold Hansen (no relation). He owned 100 acres, which were split into 10, 15, and 20 acres chunks. My grandfather has told me that Native Americans used to live in our woods, but that might have been a tale to get us to go play in the woods. However, just to the east is Barnes RD, and the Barnes House, which was owned by Dr. Cecelia Barnes. She was one of the first doctors in the area to treat Black Americans and Native Americans. The house is rumored to have secret tunnels and ghosts.
