Get away from it all when you stay among nature in this secluded off-grid tiny cabin in the forest. Complete with outdoor grill, fire pit, picnic table, well maintained outhouse, miles of trails and a large swimming or fishing pond (catch and release). This is a secluded off grid location without power, wifi, or cell service, so be prepared to UNPLUG and unwind. Hi there. Here is a little rundown of everything we do at the mill…. So, as far as camping, there are two main options on either side of the river; the mill yard or primitive camping across the river. In the mill yard, we do festival style camping, meaning that there are no individual campsites per se, but rather a large grassy lawn near the mill and bathhouse with shared fire pits, picnic tables, charcoal grill, and sinks for water/dishes. We also have two platforms up in the woods that are good for a little more privacy and are completely shaded, but do require a small climb up the hill. The bathhouse has three restrooms and hot showers in each. Across the river, there are several more primitive sites that are generally very private and offer great sounds coming from the river and waterfall, but no facilities. Most sites are car accessible, and a 5 minute walk back over to the mill (or a 1 minute drive). Lastly, our newest camping spot on the primitive side is a river front beach right by the dam with space for a several medium sized tents and a private fire pit. The beach is hike-in only (2-3 minutes along a mostly flat trail). Our normal rate is $10 per person per night. Firewood is available for $10 per wheelbarrow load. We accept cash, credit card, Venmo, Paypal, and crypto. We are also fairly flexible on check in/check out times, but just let us know if you’ll be arriving at odd hours. Dogs are generally welcome as long as they are kept on leash. Here is a little rundown of tubing at the mill (May-October, weather permitting). We have two tubing options available. We have a short Fun Run that takes roughly 45 minutes, and cost $10 per person for as many rides as you’d like. The river bends sharply like a horseshoe in this section, so it makes everything accessible by foot traffic. It’s a 3 minute walk up the trail to the dam, put in and float 30-45 minutes (depending on water level), then a 5-10 minute walk back to the mill carrying your tube. There is also the longer Forks Run, which last 3-4 hours (~2.5 river miles), and costs $15. For this, we shuttle you up the river in a vehicle, and you float back to the top of the dam, then 3 minutes walking back to the mill. Most weekends, tubing starts at 11 am and the last Forks Shuttle is around 3 pm, with the Fun Run staying open till around 5. Also, with enough heads up, we can sometimes arrange for trips during the week. Our tubes are required for each person floating for insurance and liability reasons, but you are welcome to bring your own cooler tubes to carry drinks and snacks. Technically, alcohol is not permitted on the river, but what is in your cooler is your business. Either way, please bring ALL trash out with you! Water shoes are recommended, and we have life jackets on request. Most of our tubes come with bottoms and back rests, but a few are open to the water. Most weekends, reservations are not required, but it does help tremendously if we know when you want to come and how many in your group. Learn more about this land: Fall asleep to hooting owls and the gentle ripple of the river and creek that flank your campsite. Wake up with a dip in the river or a morning hike in the woods. Feel the hug of the mountains throughout your stay, while also having access to Blacksburg nearby should you need it.  DIRECTIONS: Upon entry the gravel road is shared with my neighbor and it is about 1.5 miles from the entry gate to the site. You'll enter thru a gate (it may be closed, if closed please close behind you as my neighbor sometimes has cows). Go approx 1 mile the road will split...go up the hill on the right. Continue past the Hay barn another half mile. Park on the left side of the gravel road along the tree line. Another 50ft you'll see a wood foot bridge across the creek. The sites are ahead, PawPaw is first, then Bloodroot Base Camp (bell tent), and lastly Cohosh Cove is the most private. Each site has a sign as well When driving, please be respectful of the right of way. Drive slowly and respect the farm equipment. Also please do not venture onto the neighbor’s property other than entry and exit. About the property 20 minutes from Blacksburg and 35 minutes from Roanoke, our campground gives you great access to the “Triple Crown” of the Appalachian trail, consisting of McAfee Knob, Tinker Cliffs, and Dragon’s Tooth. Conquer these iconic peaks of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains for spectacular views of the surrounding wilderness. Additionally, explore Falls Ridge Nature preserve, Cascades waterfall, and Carvin’s Cove for hiking, kayaking and mountain biking.  Or just stay on the campground and enjoy the hiking and swimming we offer here.  Nearby in Blacksburg take advantage of the local breweries or Virginia Tech football home games. You can also find Christmas tree cutting in Floyd county, 45mins away.  This property deserves to be shared with others. It is peaceful and beautiful. As your Host, I am passionate about conservation and also teaching people about the medicinal uses of our local herbs. I can lead medicinal herb walks upon request for $25 a person. I typically try to meet the campers if I can upon arrival, I am available for questions and can be hands on or off as the needs of campers suggest. I have had campers ask if I wanted to share a beverage and sit around the fire and have done so. I want to make your experience as enjoyable as possible. I love the peacefulness the property offers, and that you’re in the middle of the wilderness but also have quick access to things in town. The river campsites are my favorite part of the property. At the main cabin I have goats and chickens which hipcampers are more than welcome to greet.  About the listing Pitch your tents at the campsite nestled along the side of the mountain on the banks of the North Fork of the Roanoke River. Perfect spot to get away for the weekend. Private area but you can hear the campers at the other spots. You can hear the barking working dogs at night and the train but that wasn’t a big deal for us. Easy access to filter your water, plenty of firewood provide it which was nice since we stayed on a cold weekend. Plenty of hikes within a 30 min drive!

Weekend Trip to Infinity Acres Ranch
We absolutely loved camping at Infinity Acres! We were a party of 7. 4 adults and 1 kid in our 27ft class C RV, and then 1 adult and 2 kids in a tent. There was plenty of space for camping and hanging out, enjoying the fire pit. We cooked 3 meals over the fire, including some Bass that we caught in the lake! We are novice fisherman, so Rick even helped the kids getting the poles set up and giving advice on bait. Our RV is a 27ft Minnie Winnie, 13ft clearance, and barely fit into the spot. Laura came to greet us and we actually had to trim a couple of branches to be able to fit, but she was kind and helpful and we made it work no problem. The kids absolutely loved watching all of the animals. We took a few hikes through the woods and made our way to "Narnia". And the fishing pond was great. Our oldest son caught his biggest fish! The views were great, so much foliage, and the property sits atop a hill so you've got quite a bit of visibility. We will absolutely stay here again, both kids and adults had a great time at Laura's place!

We had an amazing experience at 24 on the Mountain. From the moment we arrived, John — the host — made us feel genuinely welcome. He is friendly, attentive, and clearly takes a lot of pride in this property. You can tell he loves sharing his slice of mountain paradise with guests. The campsite sits high on the mountain with an unbeatable view overlooking Talbott Reservoir. We could see the dam, the water, and miles of gorgeous scenery. Sunsets and sunrises were unreal — the kind of views that photos can’t even come close to capturing. The site was clean, private, quiet, and extremely well thought out. Plenty of room to park and set up, and the layout made it feel like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. We enjoyed the peace, the stars, and the total escape from noise and crowds. John checked in just enough to make sure we had what we needed, but also respected our privacy. Exactly what you hope for in a Hipcamp host. We camp a lot, and this spot is easily one of our new favorites. If you’re looking for a relaxing mountain getaway with breathtaking views and a great host, book 24 on the Mountain. You won’t regret it and you'll love the elevation of 2800+ ft. We will definitely be back. — Tim & Nancy

Great stay! Me and my mister wanted to go on a spontaneous camping night and this was a perfect spot, friendly security(can’t remember his name at the moment), access to campfire wood and the bathroom was very nice! we had a beautiful view when we woke up in the morning aswell, and the pup loved it just as much! Had a little trouble navigating where to find it at first but it was also nighttime when we finally made it I’m sure it’s much easier to spot during the day time :)

Great spot, excellent for star-gazing. Loved hearing the babbling brook behind the site and enjoyed the excellent well-maintained campfire spot and the trees were hardy and well-spaced for hammocks. Waking up to the roosters was super nostalgic and a great surprise to score some eggs too. Felt very private and safe; the porta potty was extremely clean and a nice touch with the light for nighttime. Would recommend making sure you have all your groceries/water/etc before you arrive to save you a trip into town-we stuck around the campsite, but seems like a perfect jumping off point for Hanging Rock state park.

Hi! We're Matt and Kayla! We bought a farm and started learning about farming in 2020 after a good friend of ours passed away from cancer and we started talking through what it would look like to try something we've always wanted to try. We knew nothing about it previously so welcome to our adventure! There are a lot of camping spots on our property and you can choose anywhere you'd like. The top of our ridge called "soil road" used to be the main traveling path back in the settler days. The house at the bottom of our driveway used to be the towns post office, and there is a cave back on the creek where soldiers during the civil war camped out in. We are a working farm during the day so if you choose to walk down the ridge you'll find outside working with the animals or in the flower or produce garden. There is a lot of great fishing in the creek so make sure to bring your rod! We love pets so yours are welcome, and there are a lot of hiking trails and cute towns around us. Learn more about this land: A quiet very private experience on a farm with 180 Blue Ridge Mountain views on top of the ridge or walk down our trail to camp and trout fish on Rock Castle Creek. With clear stars, fireflies everywhere, and a cozy fire, what more could you ask for? Our whole 54 acres is yours to explore during the day to swim in the creek, see our farm animals or take a quick drive to the many surrounding lakes, hiking trails and local towns. Any type of camping set up is welcome from truck tent set ups to converted vans to on the ground camping. The top of our hill is flat so it can accommodate any set up except huge RV's!

Located less than a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this little hayfield is nestled just a skip away from Mabry Mill (the most photographed spot on the parkway), Villa Appalachia (quant Italian style winery), Chateau Morrisette (larger tourist winery), Nancy's Fudge (a little candy factory and shop), and hiking trails of varying lengths with epic views (Black Ridge Trail and Rock Castle Gorge Trail). Each of these is under 5 miles from our camp spot. Yet, if you are also hoping to hop out of your camper and WALK somewhere, there is a hike that leads you directly up to Chateau Morissette. The property itself is a hayfield that typically has a couple of cuttings each summer. The property owner (my dad, who is in his mid 70s and doesn't internet so well) lives in a log home that is across the field on the adjacent property. He is probably going to stop by to say hi. There are farm animals on the property, and we encourage you to enjoy some farm fresh eggs from our chickens! The property is also a quick 10 minute trip into town - the musical and artistic Floyd, VA - where you can find a grocery store and some restaurants as well.  We hope you'll enjoy the peaceful setting, overlooking onto the creek, and our farm animals as much as we do! About the Listings: Creek View Cabin: The cabin has a cozy bed that sits in the lofted space (you will need to climb up a set of ladder steps to reach the bed), and a couch option on the ground level for sleeping accommodations. There is a unique cabin shower, a composting toilet, well and tap water available for campers, a wonderful Solo stove for you to build a fire and to cozy up near, and a picnic table for enjoying a bite to eat! A deck sits right outside the cabin that overlooks the creek, and will be private for you during your stay.  We welcome your pets, just please ensure they are on a leash since there are other farm animals on the property.  While the cabin is the only one on our property, and somewhat private, you may see the Hosts in passing on the farm.  Additional Details to Note: - Check in is after 4pm and check out by 10am - You can stay connected if you'd like to, as cell reception is available on our property. Nine boat launches, six sandy beaches, and the clear water of Philpott Lake are at your disposal, as well as a marina and fishing dock. Get an even better view of this pristine lake from the top of Philpott Dam.
