Come explore our land and relax in the "Tree Web", see the 2 story tree house that I live in, have fun on the tire swing, or just sit and enjoy all that nature has to offer. You can explore our interesting topography that has close to 100 foot of elevation changes, our (mostly) dry creek system that starts with 2 springs that drain into 3 sinkholes or walk 3 miles of trails (if you follow each trail from end to end). We love groups - Host your event here or have a group gathering with all your friends and family. We have spaces large enough to host hundreds of people. We welcome pets for camping, but no pets allow in the Camping Cabin.     Looking for a personal retreat or get away ? Escape to our beautiful, RUSTIC 32 acre wild homestead / farm. A lovely balance between wild and tame. We are 10 minutes from the Potomac River, 10 minutes from Opequon Creek, 20 from Antietam Creek and 30 minutes from the Shenandoah River. Harper's Ferry is 30 minutes way and downtown Historic Shepherdstown is just down the road. We are also close to several state parks. - What do we mean by "RUSTIC" ? The camping experience we offer is about unplugging from the modern world , getting back to basics, slowing down and re-connecting with the land. Simply put, this is CAMPING .... not glamping. (Our Cosmic Cottage is also rustic, despite the amenities that come with it). - CAMPSITES and TREEHOUSE - No electricity or wifi on the land. Campsites and TREEHOUSE are nestled in the woods. So although your vehicle will be parked within 50 ft or so from site, you cannot pull directly up to the site and get any closer because of the trees. - SHOWER and PORTA POTTY - roughly a 5 minute or less walk from sites to shower and / or porta potty. Shower hours are 8 am- to 8 pm. The shower has hot and cold running water . You can drive to the shower if you need to. - RESPONSE TIME - This is a working herb farm/ sanctuary and we so do not always have our phones on us. We will make every effort to respond to you within a few hours. Please be patient and you will receive a response. -BOOKING - If you are interested in booking and / or availability, go to the HIPCAMP BOOKING CALENDAR and enter the dates you are interested in. for the most up to date accurate info on availability. - Feel free to wander through the herb gardens, eat your meals in the garden pavilion (we have picnic tables there and hammocks), get your Zen on in the meditation hut , and stroll through the woodland medicine path where we grow endangered and at at risk plant plants. (heads up.. the woodland medicine path goes to seed by the Fall and is usually munched down by the deer by then, but is still a nice short stroll in the woods).

    We had such a great time staying here! We’re a family of six, and honestly weren’t sure how the space would work, but it totally did. The cabin was super clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. It was well laid out, and the retro camping vibe gave it some fun personality without sacrificing comfort. The location made it great for relaxing after long days of hiking and exploring. We had plenty of room to crash at night, cook meals together, and just enjoy being off the grid a bit. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a unique spot that’s quiet, well-kept, and family-friendly. We’d absolutely stay again!

    The owner, Kerry, met us and showed us to our site. It was awesome. He gave us a quick tour of the property so we would be able to find our way around. Kerry pointed out some key features toilet/shower, walking trails, property lines, etc. It was a good stay and I didn’t have any problems or issues. The owners dog wandered over to say hi which was awesome. I will stay here again.

    Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Happy Hollow! The woodland is beautiful, the campsite was incredibly relaxing, and Kerry was an incredible, attentive host who helped guide us to our lot even at around 11PM. The site was deep enough in the forest to be wonderfully quiet, while also being not too bad from groceries/general stores in the nearby town. I will say, my partner was scared half to death during early morning when he heard an animal walking around - it turned out to be a very sweet dog named Jersey, who was so very excited to both give and receive snuggles. Definitely would recommend this spot!

    I wanted a place where the kids and I could unplug from phones, xbox and tv and relax. The also wanted to sleep under the stars in the back of the truck bed so I found a safe spot to do that! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and sweet hosts Steve and Kat!! The kids had a blast and didn’t complain once that they were bored! The cabin in super cute and comfy and you have alot of space to enjoy. Oh if you go I highly recommend the delicious breakfast of sourdough waffles 😋🤌🏽 We definitely will be back as a family and will recommend to friends!! Thanks again to our new friends Steve and Kat you guys are the best!! 💞

    Sacred Roots is a beautiful herbal farm and sanctuary. I loved staying in the Cosmic Cottage for 2 nights - attending a retreat led by the land’s steward and owner Hillary - one day and exploring the land and unplugging for a few days. It’s an easy, mellow hang with electricity (including a hot plate) potable water pump right outside and a fire pit with firewood bundles available for a small fee onsite. Hillary is helpful, friendly and welcoming! The herb gardens are beautiful and the Farm Store is full of good medicine! I love Sacred Roots!! 💚

    Beautiful location and scenery. A little far from the Tetons but we still drove I. 2 days. The tiny cabin was adorable lots of room, good bed and nice bath. The only issue was the lack of hot water.

    I would give this site an 11/10! The tiny home is really lovely, has everything you need, the hot tub is incredible and the porch a real slice of heaven. The location is superb, the views from the property, and especially the tiny home are amazing. It’s a 2 minute walk down to a gorgeous totally untouched beach’s. There’s no neighbors at all! I would definitely agree that 4 wheel drive is best for the driveway. I spent a full day going to Sol Duc falls and some trails there, and stopped at the ancient grove forest on the way which was a great day. I hope to go back someday with my family!

    Great spot. Fun little cabin with all the essentials for a trip away from the city. Quiet setting, peaceful atmosphere. Farm cat was friendly and welcoming. No problem finding the site but we are local. Neighbor’s roosters are a bit loud very early but not a nuisance. Would stay again.

    We had a wonderful time Sacred Roots. The Cosmic Cottage was adorable and cozy. We appreciated the fire pit and thank the previous occupants for leaving behind the extra wood. Jay was responsive through the Hipcamp app and Hillary was warm and hospitable when we met her in person. We could really feel the love and care that goes into maintaining Sacred Roots and we’re excited to come back as soon and as often as possible.

    The small hideout was a perfect place for the girls to have a quiet weekend for bonding, sharing and plenty of laughs. The fire was a perfect place for s’mores and “mountain pies”. The host was the sweetest man and was so helpful with anything we needed. The hot fresh homemade apple turnovers were to die for. A sweet place to relax and rejuvenate. Great recommendation for anyone looking to chill with the comfort of home

    We loved our stay amongst the redwoods! We would absolutely stay again. The tiny house is comfortable and the kitchenette well-stocked with dining ware and tools for cooking. We loved the string lights. The only thing to note is that the tiny house is very close to the main house and there is very little privacy.

Today, the farm is looking forward to a new course in agri tourism as we begin planning walking gardens, art installations in the landscape, and interactive classes.     Experience private lakeside glamping in a tiny home on Park Lake. We provide filtered water, coffee, snacks, WiFi, 48hr cooler, dvds. rechargeable fans , lantern, s’mores, firewood games, space for a tent. Ac/heat. * Newly added fenced in area for your pup 🐶 *No coffee maker/instant coffee provided This has been run as a successful bnb for 4 years now but just recently signed up on hip camp! Other details : One living area 100 square ft with couch /kitchenette & bedroom loft space that you have to climb a ladder to get to! Feel like a kid again! Queen bed upstairs & downstairs a fold down couch & camp mat for 4th person , with all Linens provided . Partly run by a generator, heat will be supplied by a space heater that we would like turned down to 66 at night (heating blankets provided if that is too cold). . Bathroom has a composting toilet. (Usually changed every 3rd guest). Ac is hooked to an extension cord . We provide a Battery pump shower where you have to fill the bag with water & foot pump sink like used at festivals. The shack isn’t perfectly air tight so you might encounter a few bugs however with Chickens around they are natural bug exterminators. Ceiling height it just at 6 ft meaning those taller than that need to Duck under beams. Please beware. *summer info : Lake can only be viewed from the upstairs of shack due to tall reeds or by way of walking path which is still under construction partially handmade from scrap lumber . It’s about 2/3 complete with newly built dock, sections (see pics). The path is usually partially underwater until mid May so please check if you plan to kayak you will use at your own risk. *:It’s too mucky to swim right off shore but you can Kayak out to the swimming area. Kayak use is allowed as long as waiver is signed. Closed toed/water shoes recommended . Potential for 4 guests which is tight, or more if part of your crew wanted to set up a tent. *Fall/winter info: Use of our guest bathroom is permitted during colder months -just ask!. Keep in mind, The only heat will be a 1500 watt heater.

Other features also remain that can be used: a sliding rock waterfall which is a short hike within the campground property, moderate trails for hiking, and mountain biking running from the waterfall through the back of the property (these trails are mountainous, so please enter at your own risk), fruit trees, blueberry bushes, small trout pond, a playground, an open meadow for star gazing, and our friendly neighborhood duck, Howard. (He hangs by the pond and accepts treats!) You are welcome to explore all these features, but please be mindful and respectful of residents and guests, do not enter or explore the greenhouses or gardens, and remain aware that this is mountainous terrain with inherent risks.This is a rustic property in the forest, centrally located to all the area has to offer.     The history of the Pump House began in 1878, when three ambitious men hatched a plan for the world's first long-distance underground oil pipeline which would transport oil from well to refinery more quickly and efficiently than the horse-drawn wagons of the time. Pumping stations were needed every fifty miles along this long route to keep pressure on the pipeline so that the oil could reach its destination. Pump House Bed and Breakfast is one of the only properties in the country in which the both the original homes of the foremen and the large brick buildings remain. Doug, owner, has spent more than 20 years lovingly restoring these foreman houses as well as the large industrial brick buildings. The Brick Barn Hall once housed steam pumps to pressurize the pipe and keep the oil moving, and the Catawissa Cabin behind it served as the telegraph office. The Studio Hall contained boilers that produced the steam to power the pumps, while the adjoining Studio Cabin functioned as a blacksmith's workspace. Today, the buildings function as reception spaces for weddings and other special events, and house private suites as well as an art studio where Doug pursues his work and teaches drawing, ceramics, and stained glass classes. These are the amenities/facilities you will have free access to: Pool, Pool chairs and umbrellas, Deck area with sunset view, Trampolines, and hammocks. There is not cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas, due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). In the past we let people cook and eat around the pool but now our whole property is fly infested and I find scattered leftovers on the ground. Thanks for understanding. THERE IS A 1-2 MINUTE HIKE TO THE CAMPSITES 1-5! Poolside campsites are closer to the parking and are bigger. CHECK OUT OUR NEW LODGING: This property is my home that I live in with my 2 kids. Don’t sit on chair edges or pool cover box. Use stumps or your own table for cooking (not ours). Keep the area clean—no food scraps on the ground. No dogs in the pool area; leashes and cleanup required. No eating in rooms or cabin. Check out on the deck. No smoking (vapes only, away from common areas).     The 66-acre property has been licensed as an airport (PS20) since the 1980s. It is currently an active, private airport. We don't sell fuel or offer services beyond camping so we primarily have only air traffic with few to no landings each year. In other words, it is very quiet here except during the occasional low pass. We are very eager for pilots to fly in and camp out! The beautiful sunsets and stargazing night skies are a real treat for anyone that comes to visit. Lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife can be seen out and about. Bring your telescope and binoculars to view all the property has to offer! Note that we are always working to improve our slice of heaven, thus we do have tools, vehicles, and equipment stored around the farm that if not used now will be one day. We appreciate your understanding that some areas are used for our personal / farm storage. If you're not into looking at our farmware, there are a few nearby campgrounds. The hot tub is located next to the owner's home. Guests are welcome to use this at any time but must reserve and pay for a time slot. * Book this through the Extras * We are within walking distance of Swatara State Park and close to the Appalachian Trail. Short drive to the local winery, bowling alley, pub/diner, and movie theater. Grocery stores and gas are also nearby. Miles of hiking, rail trail, single-track mountain biking, and kayaking are all right here! See our kayak and bike rentals under extras! Hershey Park is approximately a 30-minute drive from our location. Rausch Creek, Anthracite, and Reading off-road areas are also nearby. Note: Monthly rental discounts are available. A converted antique hay trailer turned tiny house with an 8' ceiling loft with 3-way views of the forest and river, deck, and private "magic spot" on the Cascade River. The Lil Bit O Heaven Campground is the perfect base camp for your summer adventure! Firewood is available onsite most of the summer. Fresh, clean drinking water, permanent bathrooms and a private shower are available for all campers. An outdoor (completely private) shower is available for those who book the tiny house. Please note that you must follow any local fire bans. Please check the fire conditions PRIOR to making a campfire.
