Loved it. It was a special overlook camp spot. We got lucky with a full moon and great weather. The fact that you can set up anywhere was fun. The cows with their bells waking us up in the morning was a perfect way to start a day of hiking.

Private Oasis with a Wild Drive In

We arrived late at night, & the drive up the mountain was definitely tense, especially in the dark with the faded sign that’s hard to spot (a clearer marker would help!). The land itself is beautiful & spacious, it’s expansive with lots of space between sites, so it really feels like your own little oasis. I’d recommend parking your vehicle facing into the wind - otherwise, you might get rocked a bit overnight. Sunrise was absolutely stunning & totally worth staying at this spot. Just try to arrive before dark, save your bathroom trip for another time, & note the host wasn’t responsive after a few messages.

I absolutely loved our stay here at the Zion Wright Family Ranch. The place was easy to find, lots of great spots to choose from, and it was so cool to be camping in a spot with Zion National Park as the backdrop! My husband and I really enjoyed our time here on the ranch and would absolutely love to come back on any of our other trips to Zion or the Southern Utah area!

Wonderful views and bumpy roads

Incredible views on top of Smith Mesa. Wide open and plenty of space. A few porta potties scattered around the property. Only thing to note is the ride up via the dirt road is quite bumpy and can be tough for some vehicles. It’s well worth it.

This is easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. The sweeping views of the mountains are incredible. We slept sans-rain fly in mid May and it could not have been more perfect. Only thing I’d dock it for is mosquitos but that’s not really something the hosts can control. Absolutely would recommend and go back.

Simply put - magical!
Exactly as described. Directions and access were super straightforward. Plenty of space from other campers. Sunset and sunrise lighting on the majestic buttes was amazing. Loved it!

Amazing, Remote Campsite
9 ft campervan
This campsite, located at the edge of Zion, offered a remarkable and peaceful experience. It is a primitive site with minimal amenities—only a few porta-potties are available—so visitors should come fully prepared with all necessary supplies.
Each campsite includes a fire ring, but there are no designated markers. Campers should set up near the fire rings and remain on the established dirt roads. The interior roads are soft dirt and manageable with a 4WD or AWD vehicle, though higher ground clearance may be needed toward the rear of the property. In wet weather, the roads can become impassable; if it rains, it is best to wait an hour or so for conditions to improve before attempting to drive.
A highlight of our stay was a two-hour horseback ride with Bill. It served as the capstone of the first half of our trip and was enjoyable for both novice and experienced riders.

WOW! Best View Ever!

So we recently completed a 10 day road trip in our motor home and this spot was one thing I was really looking forward to after reading so many great reviews and seeing the amazing pictures and it didn't disappoint.
We stayed 3 nights. The spot we chose, like any other spot on the property had the most amazing views of Zion. We went into the park one day and I will say didn't really even need to after staying here, lol.
The road.....ok, so this was my biggest fear after reading some reviews. Mainly because we have a 30' motor home, which obviously isn't exactly an off road vehicle. There are 2 parts to the road in. The main gravel road off the pavement is pretty flat, little bumpy but nothing terrible. But after you take a left off the main dirt road onto the property dirt road things get REALLY bumpy! There are some pretty deep tire tracks and a lot of deep bumps, rocks and it really shook our motor home around. But we took it slow and did make it in no problem, was just a really bumpy ride. ANYONE can make it in here if the roads are dry, its just a bumpy dirt road!
We did the horse ride with Bill on our last day and would highly recommend this experience to get to see the whole property and experience the views outside of the camping area. Was one of our favorite things we did on our trip!
Overall you can't beat the views here, property is huge so it feels very private, plenty of places to camp away from others. Great experience if you are going to Zion!

Wright Ranch

The Zion Wright Ranch is a one of a kind place. The Last couple miles in and out are interesting with a travel trailer. My husband hates those kind of roads. But once there the views are spectacular. I also treated myself to a horse ride, Bill was so sweet. I highly recommend reading or listening to the book" The Last Cowboys " about the Wright family. For those that don't know they are legends in the rodeo world.

Beautiful spot with great views. I didn't know I'd be hearing cowbells all night from the cows grazing, I would have picked a different spot closer to the edge where there are fewer cows but I still enjoyed the stay.

Zion Wright Family Ranch, just outside the entrance to Zion National Park, is an absolute gem. Super peaceful, beautiful spot with amazing views. We loved camping here and can totally recommend it. Big thanks for having us!

Best camping with a view!

There's nothing more spectacular than camping up at about 5800 feet looking east into the Kolob canyon part of Zion national Park! up on top of this Mesa you got an incredible view of north and south guardian angels and Tabernacle wall I believe, incredible views all around! We loved waking up to hearing the cows Bells gently tinkling as they walk around the ranch, a pretty mellow group that really made us feel much more part of this beautiful land. The Zion Wright family ranch is by far my most favorite place to camp, looking forward to coming back!

This was an awesome camp site! We drove in a Subaru crosstrek and had no issues with the road. There are plenty of fire pits to choose from and it’s not terribly crowded. Stunning views as well!

Bill’s land was amazing!!!! Such a beautiful ranch and the dispersed camping was perfect. The cows roaming was the best part! We had the best time and would totally return.

If we lived closer, we'd camp here all the time. This place was amazing! So many cool sites to choose from, views were incredible, super quiet, lovely cow bells tinkling... Porta potty situation was gross, but not unusable. The drivers in our group had no trouble navigating the hill into the ranch (4wd and 2wd vehicles).

such a unique experience! Views were impeccable and although there were many others also camping, we felt as though we were all alone! Neat to explore the property by foot and see the cows/horses in their natural state. Directions were very clear, outhouses were well kept and many spots to choose from! The road driving in is totally manageable!

Such a BEAUTIFUL campsite!! The dirt road part wasn't bad at all, definitely doable with even with the midsize SUV i rented for this trip. Honestly, the view of Zion itself was what floored me. I would come back just for that view. Great spacing between campsites, porta potties were clean when we got there. I'm not sure if it's because I went in early May, but minimal bugs! Service is spotty, but if you walk around the camp ground, you will find some. I highly recommend this site, I would come back just for that view. WOW !!! Thank you Wright Family!!
