The yurt was amazing! The property is completely secluded and was so quiet that I almost had trouble getting to sleep. Was such an amazing spot to unplug and get off the grid and the perfect location to explore the yuba, nevada city, and grass valley. Gets chilly at night so would definitely recommend bringing extra layers.
This was my first time staying in a trailer, and I have to admit I am a convert! We had a group of 3 adults comfortably fit in all together and could have had another or 5 if we had a couple with us. It was also so nice to have the amenities the trailer offers and have the chance to stay in something so unique. It gives you the taste of what it could be like to live on the road in one of these and it was so fun for us! The property itself was beautiful. It is tucked away in the woods, and also so close to town.
There is also an amazing common area with all the kitchen and cooking supplies you could need as well as a fireplace to hang around at. We will definitely be coming back - excited to check out all the different types of sites you can book at the campground!
Groundswell is absolutely magical! I wish we had come when there were more people as it sounds like such a great inclusive community where people eat together, have bonfires and work on the property together. It is also perfect for bringing a group of friends together as the cabins are stacked with bunks. There are also some cabins with bigger beds and good for couples I think as well. The cabins are very well decorated and have books for reading, art and include a heater as well - which saved me as I forgot my sleeping bag (can get a bit chilly at night here)! The hot tub was also amazing and they have a great shower/bathroom facility for all the campers. We didn't get to see the pond but I am sure it is a beautiful place to hang out and read. Since we only had one night there we stuck around the town and dad a great time there! There are lots of places to go wine tasting and shop around. We had an amazing breakfast at the Boonville General Store- amazing bacon and carrot bread!
Wow.! This was without a doubt one of my favorite Hipcamps I have ever been to! First there is an amazing view of their entire 10 acre property and the valley below from the tiny house. When we stayed the leaves were starting to change and this would be probably the best places in the country to view the Fall foliage. One of the best things we did while staying there was having breakfast on the porch of the cabin with local vegetables from farms nearby. You will have enough kitchen tools to cook food there and a great view while eating. There is so much to do in the area as well. We went to the falls nearby and went canoeing there is also no shortage of maple syrup and doughnuts in the area.
Gail's cabin was unbelievable. Such an amazing escape on our trip from NYC up to Vermont. The cabin has all the dishes you need for a great meal. There is a beautiful porch in the back for a morning coffee with a beautiful view. She was also so responsive and helpful when we were coordinating getting to the property. Would recommend getting there before sundown! You also do need a car with a lot of clearance if you're going to drive up to the cabin. It's pretty much just as fast to walk up though so if I went back I would not worry about having the right car I'd just enjoy the hike up and carry in all my stuff.
