Wow.! This was without a doubt one of my favorite Hipcamps I have ever been to! First there is an amazing view of their entire 10 acre property and the valley below from the tiny house. When we stayed the leaves were starting to change and this would be probably the best places in the country to view the Fall foliage. One of the best things we did while staying there was having breakfast on the porch of the cabin with local vegetables from farms nearby. You will have enough kitchen tools to cook food there and a great view while eating. There is so much to do in the area as well. We went to the falls nearby and went canoeing there is also no shortage of maple syrup and doughnuts in the area.
Gail's cabin was unbelievable. Such an amazing escape on our trip from NYC up to Vermont. The cabin has all the dishes you need for a great meal. There is a beautiful porch in the back for a morning coffee with a beautiful view. She was also so responsive and helpful when we were coordinating getting to the property. Would recommend getting there before sundown! You also do need a car with a lot of clearance if you're going to drive up to the cabin. It's pretty much just as fast to walk up though so if I went back I would not worry about having the right car I'd just enjoy the hike up and carry in all my stuff.
David and Elise have built an absolutely magical place that if you visit you will not want to leave. I have been wanting to book this spot for a year and it completely lived up to the expectations! First things first, the sheets and pillows make you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud and even on a chilly night we were so comfortable. The tents are also spotless and have all the accommodations you need at a glamping site and more... from a carafe and glasses if you are coming from wine country, a lantern for exploring at night, mosquito netting, water (technically potable but we drank it), bug spray, seating on the deck to enjoy the views, and firewood which we didn't use but it was nice to have it there if we wanted! They really have just thought of everything and are such amazing and thoughtful hosts with great attention to detail. Would definitely love to come back with just a friend or book a few tents together for a group outing. They also have river access and if we had more time would have loved to sit out by the river to read for a bit and enjoy the atmosphere.
The cowboy room I think is my favorite of all the rooms! It is so cozy and rustic in all the best ways. We woke up to an amazing pot of coffee and breakfast treat before heading down for the full meal. Robin treated us to the most amazing meal all with food grown on the farm and eggs from her free range happy happy chickens. She has jam that is to die for and there is never any shortage of amazing personal touch. We had a group stay for the birthday and were able to all sit by the bonfire together at night which was the best way to end an amazing stay at the ranch. Will definitely be back next year :).!
Staying on the Ranch is absolutely magical. This is the second year we have been back and love it more every year. Robin makes the best breakfast and scones that you will dream of on your second night there waiting for them the next morning 🙈. It is the best place to come unwind and feel apart of nature. She has chickens, a peacock and turkeys roaming around the property you can make friends with. The room is so cozy and very private and really is just a great place to unwind.
This place was even better than I expected, and the photos are pretty great so I feel like that is saying a lot. There is an outdoor shower that is so refreshing and even in the chilly mountains of Bonny Doone is a perfect experience. She has everything you could need in this place so you will truly never want to leave. Slippers and robes, tea and an electric kettle, a fire going to keep you warm, a couch to relax, read and snuggle up and the most comfortable bed IMO.. Your coffee gets deliver to you through a rope and pulley in the morning so you can ease into the morning before the best breakfast of your life. What's not to love?
Don's property had beautiful views of El Yunque! We had a great time touring his property and trying all the vegetables. He also has an awesome bunker with bunk beds you can stay in if you're not the camping type, there is also a full kitchen and a nice place to hang out inside in the shade.
