Intro: There's nothing I love better than a weekend in the woods. I've been a passionate camper my whole life, and love exploring new areas and spots with my camera in tow -- especially anywhere with a beach! Avid hiker, farm lover, master campsite chef <3
A dreamy, beautiful spot right on the river! The site was spacious and well-maintained. We loved being lulled to sleep by the sound of the water and had a gorgeous, sunny breakfast followed by some fly fishing practice. There's a prep bar, stump seats and big fire pit right by the river, making for easy meals and hangin' out.
Shawn was lovely and proactive with communication, making it an easy arrival. We drove down the rugged path in our Subaru Crosstrek just fine! We stayed here for just one night, but look forward to coming back soon. :) Thanks again, Shawn!
What a dreamy PNW experience! My partner and I stayed here two nights and had an awesome time exploring their gorgeous farm, checking out the farm critters, playing fetch with the friendly farm pups, eating delicious cheese and enjoying the hidden gems of Clinton and Whidbey Island! Our hosts were so kind, welcoming and relaxed, making for a perfect getaway.
The trek down to their private beach was like something out of the Jungle Book (a little treacherous for anyone with knee/hip problems but just take it slow!) -- beautiful beach! Make sure to do a cheese tasting and stock up -- made for great addition to campfire dinners and beach picnics. If you're looking for a more family-friendly beach for swimming and little ones, head to Double Bluff Beach. Shallow, clear water, sandy beaches and dog-friendly too.
For breakfast, make sure to stop by Whidbey Island Bagel Factory (the best bagels I've had on the west coast, like, ever) and grab some beach sammies at Pickles Deli right next door! Can't wait to come back next year. :)
Karen's gorgeous farm was our first Hip Camp experience and was absolutely amazing. The property is large enough to feel spacious and explore, but small to feel cozy, safe and convenient. Our campsite was perfectly maintained, complete with fire pit and picnic table. It's a short drive to Warren Dunes for a fun day at the beach, but nestled in beautiful blueberry fields and a forest so it's quiet and peaceful. Karen is a lovely, gracious and attentive host -- making sure we had all the necessary info and made coffee in the morning! My personal favorite is the animals on the farm. Cherry Pie the donkey is the sweetest thing (I now desperately want a donkey someday haha), a gorgeous variety of chickens, ducks and geese, two handsome goats and one cute little pony! Highly recommend for a lovely weekend getaway! Thanks so much, Karen!
