**NEW** Rent our Cozy Container (see Extras) for a warm and cozy Winter getaway!! Hello and welcome to The Deck on Albion Ridge! A Bit About Us and The Deck Site: Albion and the surrounding areas are the original home of the Pomo peoples Northern California and we honor their stewardship of this land for millennia before us. This property sits just above the Salmon Creek watershed which is home to coho salmon and steelhead, northern spotted owls, bears, dear, mountain lions, pileated woodpeckers, along with thousands of other species big and small, and so we feel it is our duty to uphold that stewardship of this land for future generations. We were both born and raised on the Mendocino Coast, and are now raising our two young children here. We have been developing and preserving the natural beauty of our coastal Redwood property here in Albion for the past 13 years. One of the first things we built on this property was a 2,000 sq ft deck that cantilevers over the hillside with a view of the Redwood ridges and Eastern sunrises beyond, all with wood milled from the property. Our vision for this deck was to host our family and friends and bring people together in this gorgeous outdoor setting. We have had many a birthday party, movie nights, baby showers, as well as a couple weddings and yoga retreats at this site, and now you can too! We can't wait to share the beauty and tranquility of this campsite with you! What We Offer: Camp next to, and make use of, our large Redwood deck with sweeping ridge top views. The base rate for this site includes up to four people, there is an extra charge of $25 per day, per person, for any extra people. We allow up to 16 campers total but if you're looking to have more please message us and we can talk details. Campers can set up tents just off the deck, OR for an extra fee (see Extras), you can rent our new addition of The Cozy Container, for the people that want to be in nature but don't quite want the fuss of pitching a tent. This sleeping container, not to be confused with the shipping container connected to the deck that houses the bathroom and kitchenette, houses a full size bed as well as a fold out futon and sleep 3-4 people comfortably. When booking the Cozy Container we will make up the full size bed with pillows, sheets and down comforter, however if you would like to also use the futon, we ask that you bring your own bedding for that. NOTE: We have two converted shipping containers at the site. The Cozy Container for sleeping in is away from The Deck slightly and to the left. The container attached to The Deck to the right, houses the kitchenette, bathroom, and shower around back. The use of this container is included in the basic site fee. We also allow trailers and small RVs, we just ask that during the wet Winter months, you park in our gravel parking spaces. Connected to The Deck we have another 30 ft shipping container converted into a kitchenette and bathroom with toilet and running water. Behind that you'll find an enclosed shower with hot and cold water. We also have a grill, propane heater, cooler and a cornhole set available to rent (see Extras). There is plenty of space to set up multiple tents so this is the perfect spot to wrangle all those friends or family you’ve been missing and enjoy some quality time together in nature. The Area: The village of Albion has a well equipped grocery store and deli, as well as a hardware store and post office. There IS gas if you are in a pinch, but we recommend filling up long before you get to the coast, or making the drive up to Fort Bragg for gas. You will also find EV charging stations in Fort Bragg at the Boatyard Shopping center. Drive just 20 minutes North to the village of Mendocino where you'll find plenty of shops and restaurants as well as access to hiking, biking, kayaking, surfing and bird and whale watching. Please don't hesitate to ask us for recommendations for all things to eat, see and do while you're here. We love to share the beauty of the area with our guests! Dogs: We live on the property as a family of four with two young children and two friendly dogs. Our dogs Olive and Blue may greet you when you arrive, and might bark at your car, but rest assured they are friendly and when you get out of your car, call their names and they should come begging for pets. If you're not into dogs, that's totally fine. You can always text us and we will do our best to keep them home. Tenants/Neighbors: We do have one tenant on the property whose rental shares a road with The Deck site so you may see them coming and going, but there is no line of site from their rental to The Deck site. However, being that they are somewhat close we ask that campers be mindful of noise in the evenings and we ask that all amplified music be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am. Should you have any questions or need any help during your stay, we are just a short walk away and happy to help. We love sharing the beauty of our land and all that the Mendocino Coast has to offer so don't hesitate to ask for our recommendations on all things Mendocino! Trash and Clean Up Expectations: We provide dish ware, glasses, utensils and some other odds and ends, in hopes that our guests will use less single use plastics and cut down on waste. However, we know there is always some level of trash that comes along with camping therefore, we provide trash bags and labeled trash and recycling bins, but we ask that our guests bring their trash with them when they leave. *If for some reason this is not possible, we can remove the trash for you for a fee of $15/bag, but you must message us prior to your departure and let us know that your are unable to take the trash with you. Otherwise we provide the operating hours of the solid waste disposal site (located just down the road) in our guest book in the kitchen container. I’m kind of reluctant to leave this review because I want to gatekeep this place!! The deck was exactly what we were looking for and more. Went with our two families for kids total ages 3 to 6. We pitched two tents and stayed there for three nights. The space was amazing, clean, beautiful, so much space for the kids to run around collecting bugs and looking at the banana slugs. We made a fire and roasted s’mores, All the things that core memories are bout…. Location is perfect to explore Mendocino and Fort Bragg. The site itself, super convenient to have the bathroom, mini fridge, sink(s!) The view was amazing. The deck was gorgeous. Loved having running water and the outside sink. My only wish was the shower was indoor because of our little kids, but if we had bigger kids, not a problem at all. Justin and Alex were super responsive. We have T-Mobile At&T and there was no cell service at the site so FYI. Good for me cause it help me unplug, but if you were hoping to do some work, bring a starlink just in case. We will be back 100%. Felt like I stumbled on a gem and hope no one reads this review! When I posted photos on my social, everyone wants to know where we were at and it was hard for me to tell them lol.

The Deck on Albion Ridge
We had an absolutely fantastic weekend glamping at the deck! The site is spacious, clean, and incredibly quiet, offering a perfect view of the ridge. We spent our time relaxing on the deck, enjoying BBQs, and doing yoga in the fresh air. The container setup was a highlight!! Having a clean indoor bathroom, a small fridge, and an indoor/outdoor kitchen made the experience so much more comfortable. We all left feeling completely restored. Even our pup loved running around and rolling in the grass, though we’d definitely recommend keeping a close eye on small dogs and children on the deck for safety. A few quick tips for future guests: there were some mosquitoes during our stay, so while the hosts provide repellent candles, it’s a good idea to bring your own bug spray as well. We also booked the extra container for a friend with a baby, and it was perfect; it comes with a comfortable bed and a heater to keep things cozy. Alex and Justin were truly fabulous hosts~ When one of our friends realized they hadn’t brought enough insulation for the cold night, they kindly offered extra blankets and sleeping bags to keep them warm. We can’t recommend this place enough! Thank you, Alex and Justin!😊

The Deck on Albion Ridge
The Deck is such a special and peaceful place! The attention to detail was really impressive, and the site was meticulously maintained. The setting took my breath away. The thoughtful little touches in the container’s kitchen, bathroom, and shower setup were far beyond what we expected. Running (hot) water, cute little coffee mugs, glasses, dishes, utensils for eating and cooking. The coffee set up! Alex and Justin have thought of it all. We only wish we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay near the Mendocino area.

The Deck on Albion Ridge
What a beautiful, private spot this is! So easy to camp here with the well-stocked kitchenette, bathroom, and hot shower. We pitched our tent on the huge grassy area (which can accommodate multiple tents if you have a group) and spent most of our time sitting on the huge deck looking out at the trees—not a road or building in sight. Short drive to Albion Market, Navarro beach, and Mendocino. (Try the fish and chips at Patterson’s Irish Pub. Yum!)

We had a great time camping at The Deck. Alex and Justine were quick to reply to all my questions. Getting to the campsite was very easy and the directions spot on. The site it self was wonderful and had an amazing view, perfect for our class C motorhome. We loved the outdoor kitchen in the container and all the little touches. It was quite and peaceful. We hope to be back again soon.

The Deck on Albion Ridge
This is an epic spot near the Mendocino coast. It was both remote and comfortable. We parked a small Sprinter RV onsite for four days in January. Jack rabbits, crows, and a few friendly dogs visited us. The view from the deck, looking out over the tops of tall pine trees, was incredible. It was so quiet that we heard the feathers of birds flying overhead. Communication with our hosts was easy (though there is virtually no cell signal), and Mendocino was a quick drive away. Hope to be back sometime soon!

The Deck on Albion Ridge
I proposed here! I was looking for a place to escape suburbia, where we would be surrounded by trees and fog and stars - but also with some comfort, since the plan was to get engaged in the middle of nature, not go backpacking in the wild. This place seems more commonly reserved for groups, but it was perfect for a romantic getaway for two (even though it's designed and marketed for large groups). We went in November (booking last minute to avoid rain!), and the container with the bathroom and heated water were fantastic to have in the cold weather. Alex and Justin were gracious hosts who were attentive, responsive, and welcoming. The location is private, large, comfortable, and beautiful. This site has a lot of love invested into it by the hosts. We're so grateful to have found Alex and Justin's passion project and that they shared it with us!

The Deck was great! Beautiful view and very quiet and private. We will go again and rent the containers for some friends. A bit off the beaten path but worth it for the peace and solitude. Good responsive hosts and their dog is a good good boy.

This campsite was everything we were hoping for and more. The setting is absolutely beautiful. Surrounded by tall evergreens, with a spacious deck overlooking the forest. It was a perfect spot to watch a beautiful sunrise. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and nature. We camped on the grassy area next to the deck and loved waking up to the sounds of nature. Everything was clean, easy to access, and exactly as described. The amenities were well thought out — a great grilling setup, plenty of seating, and string lights that make the evenings feel cozy and inviting. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature. Can’t wait to come back! 🌿

The Deck on Albion Ridge
We loved camping here with our family!! This is a new favorite spot, none of the photos do it justice, it’s beautiful! You have access to the kitchen and bathroom both inside which is great with kids. There also a separate cozy contained with bed and heater that we used for our baby to sleep, which was perfect. We’re already looking forward to going back.

We absolutely LOVE the deck and are so appreciative of Justin & Alex’s property & hospitality. This was our third camping trip with our group of friends and look forward to coming back every summer. A true gem!!

My husband and I LOVED spending the weekend on the Deck! The space was absolutely stunning and had everything you’d want + then some. We appreciated having a real bathroom and shower after spending time on the beach, and enjoyed hanging out on the deck for sunset drinks. We can’t wait to come back with friends one day.

The Deck is better than advertised; wasn’t sure about the privacy of the location, thinking we would literally be staying on someone’s deck. The location was completely isolated, did not see another person the whole time. It was so quiet and the views were amazing; watching the tree skyline change from sunrise to sunset does not get old. The deck is large and clean, and seating and hammock are nice touches. Ample kitchen supplies, bathroom and hot shower made the trip luxurious during our stay. We opted for the container, firewood, and propane grilll option all were well worth the value and convenience. I came with my 80 year old mom, her 15 year old Chihuahua, and my 4 year old son. We had a blast building a bonfire roasting hot dogs and enjoying the solitude and beauty of the property. We will be back. If you have reservations about the deck try it out and you will not be disappointed!

What an amazing spot! The campsite was not only stunning and peaceful, but also spotless and well-equipped. Everything was thoughtfully set up, which made our stay really comfortable. The host was incredibly kind and easy to communicate with — we felt very welcome. I would absolutely return in the future. My family and I just returned from a truly magical weekend at The Deck campsite in Albion, and I can't recommend it enough! As parents with two active kids and a playful dog, finding a place that caters to everyone can be a challenge, but this place was absolutely perfect. The deck was very large with amazing views and a large open space to sit by the campfire. It was great to have access to the kitchen, bathroom and sink in the container. The amenities were top-notch and made our stay so easy and relaxing. The hosts (Alex and Justin) were very responsive and accommodating. I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting a nice getaway!

The cozy container was great! Stunning view, lot’s of space, and all the amenities you need if you want to be more comfortable than you’d be with remote camping. The hosts have really put thought and care into their space and it shows.

What a great camping trip! The site is perfect for families too. We hunter for banana slugs in the morning, enjoyed the north coast during the day and stargazed at night. We even saw a rubber boa. We will definitely be back!

Another great stay at this amazing location. This time we added on the add'l container for our friend who's not quite a "camper" and she loved it. Alex and Justin are very nice and communicative, the place has everything you need, and it's up to you on if you just want basic camping or do it all up on the glamping.

This was such a special spot. It was rainy for much of my stay but I was very warm and comfortable inside the Cozy Container, and used the other container to cook/hang out in during the rain. Awesome location -- secluded and peaceful but Mendocino is very close for a meal etc. Perfect spot for the solo writing/painting retreat I was looking for, and I can't wait to return with friends during the summer!

We had an amazing stay at this site. It was so nice having an indoor kitchenette (sink, mini-fridge, plateware, utensils, etc) and bathroom (indoor toilet and sink); my partner and I are new to camping and these amenities made it so easy to focus on learning to cook while camping without feeling like we were roughing it too much. The outdoor shower and deck were such great ways to connect with the nature around us. We hope to be back for a group trip next year.
