Mixed Emotions-based on inclusivity
21 ft travel trailer · With pets · Overall we had a great stay and really liked the campground. We ate at Cooter's and we really liked it. Unfortunately, one bad experience can really leave a bad taste. I went to the restroom to use the shower, I am a woman with short hair. In the bathroom, I was met with two girls, who laughed and asked what are you doing in here? This is the girl's room. I explained I was a girl--they told me I wasn't. At this point, I was in the shower, naked and feeling extremely vulnerable. They mocked me, made me feel uncomfortable and than told me their aunt worked at the campground. So I told them they should go talk to her. I was in the bathroom and could hear them yelling that there was a boy in the girl's shower. Multiple times--loudly. I showered very quickly--barely washing and left. It seemed like the whole campground heard. I am certain, these little girls told the campground worker. I'm hoping they were set straight. I should have directly contacted the office, but it was embarrassing.
TLDR, if you don't look like a typical white woman, I'm not sure this is the most welcoming, inclusive place. I do identify as a lesbian and dress androgynously, but I also was born a woman and identify as a woman.
