Tinyhome Cabin (1-2 People)
in @FarmToTableHawaii, HawaiiIO's Nest Lookout on the Hamakua
in IO's NEST LOOKOUT on the Hamakua, HawaiiSimple and easy
IOâs nest was an affordable, easy, and simple place to stay on our drive from the Kona side to the Hilo side. The stargazing and the view of the full moon rising over the ocean was beautiful and we got some good nighttime long exposure photos. The outdoor shower was fine. Having a mini fridge meant we didnât need to pick up ice for our cooler on the way there. Thereâs a small hand washing sink beside the gazebo and the covered car parking has a propane grill. I slept soundly through the night but my partner woke up to some kind of rodents scurrying back and forth inside across the gazebo. I wouldnât leave any kind of food out inside the space.
Rockledge Cottage 1
in Rockledge Lodge and Cottages, PennsylvaniaMidwest Shipping Container
in The Stewart Settlement, MissouriLacy has a great event space set up here! We spent the night on our cross country road trip in October, pretty much at the end of hosting season. The shipping container stayed warm and the bed was super cozy, We parked a few feet from the container so grabbing stuff out of the car was easy. The event area with fire pits and seating is lovely, but it was a little too cold for us to sit by the fire or hang out in the kitchen container. Glad we brought take out as there is a grill and a microwave in the kitchen area, but no stove or heating element in the sleeping area. We'd love to come back in the summer with a little more time to enjoy a fire and the sky full of stars!
South Crow Cabin
in Buford Canyon, WyomingWarm stay on a windy night
Chas' cabin was a great find on our road trip-- tucked away just far enough from the the noise of traffic and on private property so we felt ok leaving our bikes on the car for the night. The winds gusts were 40-60mph during our stay so we didn't get to enjoy the propane fire table outside but we did stay cozy and warm with the marine cabin heater and our camping bedding. The moonlight lit up the landscape and we got up in time to catch the sunrise (which you can kinda see from the futon through the side window). Hope to visit again when we have time to explore Vedauwoo.
Walnut Grove
in Greene Kitchen Farm, PennsylvaniaPlenty of hammock space
We booked site 3 but ended up moving to site 1 because there was better flat ground for our tents, more trees for hammocks, and as mentioned previously a pile of bricks to build your own fire pit modifications. We could see the barn and lots of sky from our spot between the sheep grazing areas and some empty fields.
