I can't rave enough about our experience at the Stewart Settlement. Not only was the property amazingly beautiful (pictures don't do it justice,) but the hosts were lovely and gracious.
We stayed in the larger of the two spaces in the shipping container. It had a mini-fridge, and they left us a bottle of cold water and some apples. The futon was a bit small, but thankfully, we brought a nice airmattress with us that worked really well. There was an ac/heating unit in the room, so we were always comfortable.
The bathroom area has a porta-potty behind the container, with a sink with a tank of running water. This is really the "glamping" part of the experience. However, the facilities were extremely clean - I've never used a porta-potty that smelled like lavender! And they were immediately behind the room, so it wasn't exactly roughing it.
The pavilion is gorgeous and the gem of the experience. It's a shared space, along with the bathroom and separate shipping container for the "kitchen." However, as we were the only guests, we had it to ourselves. There were lovely spaces with firepits and furniture around, tons of twinkle lights, electricity for our music, and they left us plenty of firewood and kindling to enjoy a lot of outdoor time by the fire. So relaxing and beautiful.
The kitchen area next to the pavilion included a propane grill, a coffee maker, and a hot plate. There were plates, mugs, some utensils, and a cast iron skillet safe for the hotplate. We cooked while we were there, and we had brought all of our supplies from home. I would still plan to do that if you know you need something special.
There wasn't any wifi, and my cellphone reception was spotty (ATT.) However, I enjoyed unplugging, as it were. That said, my partner has Verizon, and he had good reception.
We packed for a camping trip, not quite knowing what to expect. In hindsight, I could have brought a lot less. I didn't need lanterns, as much cooking gear, etc...
All-in-all, we had a wonderful and relaxing time. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easier get-away than camping can provide.
