(Dispersed site)
Our campsite was essentially in someone's driveway next to the highway. For some positives, the wifi and shower were great and really needed after a long day out hiking and we had plenty of room. However, Heather was not kind to our group from the beginning. When we alerted her of our late arrival time, she made it sound like it was really too hard for us to come then, so we ended up booking a motel for the night. All it would have have involved was us opening a fence. Every other time I have used HipCamp the hosts have been arrangements to be able to check in late, as people typically have to drive from far to come to a remote campground. Whether that be someone greeting us or having infastructre in place to be able to set up tent and sleep, I have never experienced someone being so rude on the phone and offering no help whatsoever.
Second, she prohibited our number of tents although it says that nowhere in site description. We paid for 5 people for all the nights of our stay, and only had 3 for 3 of those nights. She said we couldn't have more than 2 tents which we obliged until one night our stuff was wet so we put up a third.
Even if the third tent was an issue (no reason given why, there was tons of room), Heather acted extremely rude to my fellow camper to have it taken down. She was yelling at her to take it down before she could even see, and texting our other friend multiple times saying it had to come down or we would have to vacate. Some reasoning why would have been helpful context to understand why this was such a massive issue.
Ultimately the last night we did not stay either. After this incident, Heather proceeded to yell at my friend in her car for upwards of 15 minutes going off on all the camp site rules we had broken. We are good campers. We left at 6 am everyday to hike, would come back, make food, and pass out. I don't know what she had against us but I can't think of any incident where campers should be yelled at by a host for 15 minutes when we were paying HER to stay in her backyard. This was not a conversation where she expressed her viewpoints and we were able to chat - this was a one-sided beratement from her end.
The yelling was out of control, she said things like "I don't know what you do in life, but I bet you're bad at it" to my friend and that the dog my friend was holding on her lap was "really cute, you wouldn't want it to be squished". For backround, my friend had parked in the nearby parking lot to wait for us to come out of the site while she was holding a dog. Dogs are not permitted on the premises, so she parked out of the way. We were threatened to be towed because we were on private property. I understand that from her perspective this incident, piled on with the other "violations" we had may have resulted in her to lose her temper. But to be frank, the attitude we received upon arrival was rude and curt and that never changed. It seems that other campers have not experienced this so maybe it was a bad day for her. I have camped with HipCamp multiple times and always have had a pleasant and educational experience and hope to again next time I use the service.

Keith’s property was amazing! We were right near some beautiful horses but tucked away in the shady woods which was perfect for hammocking on a hot weekend. Keith was extremely friendly and available for communication whether it was arranging our site beforehand and guiding us to the spot when we arrived. Thanks for your hospitality Keith! We really loved the twinkly fairy lights which illuminated our whole time there.

This was an amazing campsite! We were on our own section of Keith’s land but still close to a port a potty and portable water. Keith was super friendly and accessible - he has around to answer any questions and very flexible when we had changes with our plans. The space was beautiful!

This a great spot for an overnight camp trip! The hosts were responsive, friendly, and guided us to the site which was helpful because it was dark. We had wood delivered to us which was a bug help. It was a lovely spot to wake up and explore the trails and farm. We could to feed the goats, hold baby goats, and even pick some fresh peppers! We left with fresh eggs and turnips. Everyone was extremely friendly and we really enjoyed our experience at the farm! Thank you, eric and gang!

in Wood Spring Club, Inc. (since 1957), New YorkWe stayed on July 4th so there were a lot of locals partying there all night - but totally understand that! The campsite itself was nice and had a picnic bench and fire pit. The markings for campsites 3-5 were a little confusing.
