in The Deer Crib at Flat Rock Farm, New YorkSecond annual labor day camp
Second annual Labor Day camping trip at the Deer Crib. We had such a wonderful time. Two adults and the dogs in the cabin, one family in a tent, and one in a truck camper. The field is the perfect spot to pitch all the tents and have room to play. The double outhouse is super convenient. The fire ring and supplied wood made for the best place to hang out all weekend. Marlene and Craig supply lots of water for washing dishes in the dry sink and there are utensils, dishes, and cooking tools available as well. So many little touches (ex a roll of paper towels) to make things convenient for their guests. The property is great. We went for lots of walks on the trail, tried to catch frogs in the pond, and started gazed at night. Such a wonderful trip. We canât wait for next year!
Past trip
in The Deer Crib at Flat Rock Farm, New YorkWe had such a great weekend at the deer crib. Marlene and her husband were wonderful hosts. They met us when we got there and gave us the lay of the land and directed us to the awesome network of trails on the property. We really enjoyed meeting them and chatting with them. We had a big group; three couples, two kids, and three dogs. One couple slept in the cabin, one in a tent, and one in a truck camper. The cabin is in a great field with plenty of room to run around and pitch tents. The double outhouse was clean. Thereâs a pond close to the cabin which the dogs and the four year olds loved. Not for swimming, but great for exploring. Grafton lakes state park is about 15 minute drive for great swimming. We hiked a great 2ish mile loop trail through the property. The cabin is awesome with gas lights and a gas stove. Thereâs also a generator but we didnât use it. It was so nice to have a sink and lots of jugs of water provided for dish washing. The porch was the perfect escape from the rain on our first day. We had such a great time and canât wait to come back for another weekend of camping!
Past trip
in Runamuk Farm, New YorkWe had a wonderful stay at Campsite B celebrating our anniversary with our four year old and GSP. Such a gorgeous location. The view from the cabin / picnic table were so lovely. The included hammock was so relaxing to lounge in. There were so many things provided like the propane camp stove (but not pots / pans / cooking tools, so bring those!), Adirondack chairs, coffee, a French press, mugs, a couple utensils, etc. Having a big jug of water for drinking and washing hands / dishes was super convenient. We didnât get to see much of the animals, the cows were pastured near campsite A, so we saw them as we were driving past. There are a few swim spots we explored nearby, but the rivers are very brown and silty so we decided to just let the dog swim instead. Lake Lauderdale park is nearby and a very nice picnic play spot. Thereâs a clean swimming area we enjoyed. The ONLY con I have to mention is that there arenât any screens and the eaves of the cabin are open so the mosquitos tormented us at night. Admittedly we left the doors open more than we should have the first day because the breeze and view were SO nice, but the second day we were much more cognizant of it and still had several pesky mosquitos buzzing by our heads. The plexiglass roof was so cool and we loved seeing a few stars through it. Such a neat cabin!
Past trip
in Green Mountain Getaway, VermontWe had a great quick stay at Johnâs cabin. Our second visit and definitely not our last. John was great and very responsive. The cabin is beautiful and has lots of creature comforts (a propane stove, a sink basin, several jugs of water, pots, pans, dishes, silverware etc. The view and the sunset were just beautiful. The wood stove kept us plenty warm. Our 3 year old and dog had a wonderful time romping around in the woods. John invited us to check out his sugaring operation (our sonâs highlight of the trip!) and even let us sample his delicious syrup. Such a wonderful place to unplug and unwind. Canât wait to come back again.
Past trip
in Grateful Acres Vermont, VermontAn awesome labor day weekend
We had such a great stay at the Daydream Cabin! My in laws stayed in the cabin and we pitched our tent. There was PLENTY of room on the spacious site for four adults, one child, and two big dogs. This beautiful site is in the bottom corner of a L of sites. The cabin backs up to a beautiful meadow view and if youâre looking out from the cabin you can see the last site and the mountains behind it. The shared outhouse is a very short walk (behind the host cabin) and is the most immaculate outhouse Iâve ever been in! The cabin is beautiful and is outfitted with solar lights. There is a small picnic table and two Adirondack chairs by the fire pit. The reservoir is a two mile drive down the road and it is an awesome swimming / picnic spot. There are a hiking trails from there too. We will definitely be back!
Past trip
in The Meadow & Woods Cabins, VermontWe had the BEST weekend at the Woodâs Cabin. Lindsay and Joe quite literally saved our anniversary weekend. We had gotten rained / flooded out at our original site and found Riverledge Farm and booked the woods cabin at the last minute. Lindsay was so sweet and accommodating and didnât seem annoyed at my 800 messages! Haha They were so warm and welcoming and offered us a tour of the INCREDIBLE grounds when we arrived. We had the place mostly to ourselves and had so much fun exploring. Our dog was in HEAVEN. The rustic cabin was gorgeous and had many creature comforts (linens, water, and firewood are all included). Thereâs a clean porta potty out back. The fire pit area was beautiful and has a picnic table and awesome rock slab bench. The porch was perfect for our morning coffee. There was plenty of room in the cabin to set up our little guyâs pack n play. Our absolute favorite part was swimming and exploring the river across the road from the property. It was incredible and refreshing. Wish we couldâve stayed longer. Even our 3 year old asked âcanât we just do ONE more sleep in the cabin?â Next time we will stay longer!

in Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat, MassachusettsTwo kids and a dog
We had such a wonderful weekend trip to the Thoreau Cabin. We brought our two kids (5yo and 8month old) and our GSP and we all had the best time. We fished, paddled, colored, and played. The foggy morning coffee was my favorite part. The cabin has SO many conveniences. The foot pedal sink was great for hand washing and dishes. There was a plethora of supplies (eg lanterns, cleaning supplies, lighter, tools, etc) and kitchen tools in the cabin. We had enough room for our queen air mattress, single camp pad, and pack nâ play on the floor. The little table on the porch was perfect for meals. The grill worked great. We loved all of the personal touches in the cabin. It is filled with so much life and personality. Mary was a pleasure to correspond with. She sent lots of information prior to our stay and was readily available by text throughout our stay. We made such sweet memories and we canât wait to come back!

Pine Cone Cabin
in Pine Cone Cabin, VermontOvernight with dog and little ones
We had a great night away at the pine cone cabin! We arrived during a picturesque snow storm that was perfect for snowman building. The cabin took a little while to warm up, but once the wood stove got roaring we were sweating and stayed toasty all night. Wood for the stove was available for purchase on site ($6 a bundle) and we only needed one for the night and morning. The lights and hot plate were great accommodations and made cooking yummy camping meals a breeze. The loft was great. It easily fit our queen sized air mattress with my sonâs camping pad on one side, our babyâs travel bassinet on the other and still had lots of room for our bags. Bonus that it is carpeted! We hope to come back again soon!
