Located in a serene valley in the Ozark Highlands, the Ranch has Sheep, Scottish Highland Cattle, Chickens, Ducks and Great Pyrenees livestock guard dogs (only in the sheep pastures - and they are friendly). This is a unique site located in the Ozark Highlands. Only 45 minutes from Cape Girardeau (a small river town on the Mississippi), and 45 minutes from the Arcadia Valley including Taum Sauk mountain (the highest point in Missouri), Elephant Rocks, the Johnston Shutins, and other beautiful areas in the highlands.
The farm is five minutes from Marble Hill, which is home to the Bollinger County Natural History museum which highlights the only dinosaur bones found in Missouri. The bones were found at a farm in Glennallen (a few minutes from our farm) as well as a great barbeque (Jay’s Restaurant) and a good catfish restaurant (Jers Restaurant). On the way to our farm, feel free to stop at the 1,700 foot deep artesian well to get a cool, refreshing jug of natural artesian well water – the water is free, but you have to bring your own containers!

We offer rock hunting. and we have extra buckets. We have the best Drusy (lots of colors), Crazy Lace Agate, Calcite, Chalcedony, Quartz, Chert, Barite, Bladed Barite, Iron Ores and more. I came in a warmer night in February so I had the place myself. Jon was a laid back and friendly host. His land is well maintained and the compost toilet is very clean and has a window for a view of the woods. I ordered a bottle of wine and Jon even brought me a wine glass and opener from the house to open it. I definitely would recommend and come back!

Great simple land. There were goats and some chickens. Also a very friendly family dog that made us feel extra safe. The host was very quick to respond! Will book again in future.

Super private. I was the only one there. The gravel bad was nice and level. We took the path to the right of the Y and walked to the big pond and kept going all the way to the back little pond. Sorry if we weren’t supposed to go that far.
We saw deer and rabbit tracks on the snow. It was so quiet and had a pretty view. The dogs enjoyed running around and getting in all the wild smells.
- text the hosts to let them know when I was arriving and to reach out if I needed anything.
- direction to property are straight forward Apple Maps took me straight there.
- parking was a breeze.
- I used 30 amp and for some reason I tripped a breaker. Not sure what happened there but everything was fine.
- cell service for me was fine. (att)
- environment was quiet. You are next to a road but traffic was light. You could hear the woodpecker and other birds doing their thing. Sky was crystal clear. You could see every star in the sky.

my pup and i were stopping through on a road trip and it was a lovely place to rest! jon was wonderful and responded right away, offering to stay up late to welcome us. and the trees and woods all around were gorgeous. definitely recommend !

We loved our stay at R & T Farms. Not only were the hosts very gracious and hands off but we met some animal friends as well. Would highly recommend this stay for anyone passing through St. Louis or just looking for a relaxing getaway on a quaint family farm!

We absolutely had a fantastic weekend camping on this lovely piece of land. We love that it is local to us so we can take a little getaway weekend now and then. Everything about this property is just cool. There are sheep, chickens and the coolest dog you'll ever meet! This is the kind of place that you want to tell everyone about but want to keep to yourself, too! Cant wait to come back.

Middle Eden is an absolute *find*. I am local to this host and just wanted to find a nice quiet place to occasionally get away! It was hard to believe we weren't out in secluded backcountry, but close enough to get back home if needed and there's sheep, chickens and a really cool, really sweet dog! My husband and I absolutely needed this reset and we will be back!

We had a lovely 3 night stay on Ryan and Tanya’s beautiful property. The site was large, level and easy to maneuver around with a west facing view. Every sunset was stunning. It was very private with 30amp and sewer. We filled our fresh water tank when we arrived. There are hoses long enough to reach the site if you need to refill. The hosts were easy to communicate with and quick to respond to any questions. St Louis is an easy 30 minute drive if you want to explore. There are also a couple small towns that are closer with provisions, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.
Ryan and Tanya were wonderful, kind hosts.
We will definitely stay again next time we’re in the area.

Darrell and Jeanna were excellent hosts; they were friendly and helpful while also being mindful of the importance of the solitude needed to thoroughly enjoy their beautiful property. We will definitely go back for another visit (or more).
This visit was towards the end of November, so the shower and privy were welcome comforts in the brisk weather, though also invigorating. Fireside relaxation was the primary activity as we watched an impressive variety of birds by the pond. With the lack of light pollution, the stargazing opportunities were a treat. We hope to be back for the wine harvest next year!

About
Equally passionate about fishing, hiking, picnicking, boating, hunting, and camping? This 1,101-acre Southern Illinois state park is a mecca for outdoor recreational activities. The centerpiece of this rolling hill country is the 65-acre Randolph County Lake.
Offering a cool retreat from hot summer days, well-shaded picnic areas inspire relaxed nibbling. The park's six picnic areas are equipped with shelters, tables, grills and water fountains. Kids love the small playground.
Anglers hoping to get lucky will find it well-stocked with bass, bluegill, channel catfish and rainbow trout, to name a few. The lake has a boat ramp, so bring your own (10 HP max), or rent one here.
Hiking trails wind through woods, open fields and around the lakeshore. Equestrians enjoy an additional 11.6 miles of trails with the same serenity-inducing sights and sounds.
Camping facilities include: 51 Class BE, 95 Class C, an equestrian site, four primitive sites and a group camp.
