For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka.
Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups.
It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below.
The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls.
Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside
At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. There are 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water.
This is a leave no trace site. Take all your trash with you when you leave. Bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty!
Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log.
The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by.
Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, and others.

Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self-reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at an accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is an alternative. We produce much of our own food. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are no swimming holes on our property, but many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive (see list below). A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. For the truly adventurous, Clarksville Cave is a short drive away. Visit their website for list of proper gear and rules. We do rent some of the equipment needed.

Our camp sits on 32 acres of mountain and trails. You also have access to a public rail trail that runs through our property and follows the river.
Things to note: This is a brand new camp! We are are off grid and operate on solar. We offer fresh potable water from a newly drilled modern well and spigot which only runs on a solar panel during daylight hours. There is a new construction communal outhouse and a separate fresh water sink for washing hands, dishes etc. We ask that you are respectful of the provided facilities so other campers can enjoy a clean and relaxing vacay.

Amazing location with panoramic views of the Vermont Green Mountain range, this property adjoins a public 9 hole golf course. Located on over 260 private and secluded acres, property also has a 2 acre pond for swimming, paddling or just relaxing.
There are several miles of maintained hiking trails meandering throughout the forest, ranging from an easy walk, to hilly and somewhat challenging. Many varieties of tent locations or places to park an RV, pop up, or car. This is considered a "Primitive camp site". There is no shower, toilet or electric available at this time, but well water can be had from our residence, via a hose spigot on the side of our home. This is our 3rd year of hosting, and due to the overwhelming popularity of having an abundance of privacy, we will continue to be only hosting one party at a time. Which means you'll get the privilege of not having to share your surroundings with anyone else! Your own private camp ground! This is also correct, as we are apparently on the border of the two towns and depending on the map, it can come up as Hampton, or Whitehall. As far as I know, it's the town of Hampton, but just in case...

Winchcombe Farm spans a rolling, sunny 9 acres in Schuylerville, NY. The property backs up against a 67-acre wildlife preserve. We are blessed with a diverse range of flora and fauna on the property, and breathtaking sunset views.
While we are largely secluded from neighbors and on a very quiet road, civilization isn't too far away! We're just a 3-minute drive from the village of Schuylerville and we're about fifteen minutes from the town of Saratoga, where you'll find a variety of bars, restaurants, live music and the namesake, world-class natural springs. For outdoor enthusiasts, there is a number of nearby opportunities to explore, including mountains to hike and ski, trails to walk and rivers, streams and lakes to kayak.
Our favorite attractions in the area include:
- Bound by Fate, a farm-to-bar brewery in downtown Schuylerville (3 min. drive)
- Amigos' Cantina, an authentic Mexican restaurant in downtown Schuylerville
(3 min. drive)
- Hiking in the Saratoga National Historical Park (15 min. drive)
- Touring natural springs in Saratoga (15 min. drive)
- Hiking in the Adirondacks (30-45 min. drive)

This campsite is nestled into a secluded, tranquil pine grove on our 9-acre farmstead, and backs up against a 67-acre wildlife preserve. It is situated near our rustic little red barn, and features a private access path and convenient tent-side parking. Your campsite fee includes the use of a fire pit, and chairs. We love how this site offers both privacy and convenience with a touch of wild! Wind down with our incredible sunset views, fall asleep to a chorus of crickets and an expanse of stars overhead, and wake up to the sound of birds and the horses which live on an adjacent property.

Val is lovely. We were desperate to get away from a campground that had suddenly been overrun by screeching children running over our pup on their electric bikes and their parents live band hillbilly rave. We needed an off the grid private location for our airstream stat and found it here. If you’re looking for fancy, stick with the kiddos and banjo players at the campground but if the priority is peace, this is a great option. Thank you, Val!

Weekend Trip to Waterfall Sanctuary & Quiet Retreat
We had a wonderful time camping on Amy's land. Everything was as described in the listing. There was a mix up where the campers before us went to the incorrect cabin and Amy was responsive and kind when sorting it out. The cabin was clean and smelled good, like fresh wood. We appreciated the carts supplied to help transport supplies to the site, and the cooking supplies supplied in the community room helped us out too. It rained one day which made it hard to cook outside but we were able to use the microwave to warm things and the coffee pot to heat up water. We also had a great hike at Vromans Nose which was 10 min away from the site. The trail to the waterfall is steep but the falls are worth the challenge. A local cutie pie kitty cat visited us when the weather was nice which was a joy. We are already looking into when we can come to the area next!

Cannot say enough good things about Coy Mountain! From our first intro with our hosts who gifted us farm fresh eggs, to the thoughtfully setup campsite and pristine outhouse, everything about it made for a perfect weekend getaway. My dog and I had an absolute blast and can’t wait to go back.

We loved Mike's barn. He was a tremendous help with the wood fired pizza oven. I had never used one before. We had a great time. I wish we had 2 nights there. We brought sleeping bags and were glad because it did get cool even in May. If you like rustic and can light a wood stove you'll like it. My fire wood was too long and Mike cut it for me. Thanks Mike!

This is an absolutely incredible campsite with beautiful views and all the privacy you could hope for! The view toward the mountainscape is unparalleled, and you have plenty of room for setup. The adirondack chairs, picnic table, and metal fire pit give you everything that you need. Truly an incredible oasis. Will be back!

Adorable cabin, great folks (hosts) and beautiful spot. Appreciate the fire ring and picnic table. Clean, well kept landscape with plenty of room to lounge and hang out. You can tell they put a lot of thought into it. Location is near cute little towns and trails are walking distance from the property. Bike straight from the property. The cleanest pet-friendly place I ever stayed. I'll definitely be back.

Set up our tent for a night and loved every second! The land is peaceful and removed from any busy roads, some small pieces garbage at the sight so please pick up after yourself, but it was amazing. All the animals are super friendly and cute! Host was helpful and answered all our questions. Such a great stay!

My husband and I were looking for someplace quiet and private to relax and unwind. Karl lives on the property behind the cabin and welcomed us with a burning fire. Even with Karl on the property directly behind us, the cabin faced out into the forest and felt very private. We saw Karl one time when he stopped to ask if we needed anything. We came prepare to camp in a rustic cabin and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to find we really didn’t need much. There was a camp stove and all of the cook wear and utensils, along with dishes, cups and silverware. Karl and is wife have really put thought into every detail. It didn’t bother us a bit when the nights were cold and the first night rained hard. We found a heater and Yahtzee game inside to keep us warm and content. I really can’t think of one way they could improve. Karl was very friendly. We didn’t get the pleasure of meeting his wife but maybe next time because we definitely plan to visit again. Thank you Karl.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Retreat and Tiny Cabin
This tiny riverside cabin was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway. It was fully stocked with all the basics and so many very thoughtful details, as well. The site was nicely tucked away and private. The cleanliness of the porta-potty was also notable - world's cleanest porta potty. Robbin was an excellent and thoughtful host with very thorough notes for our stay at cabin (every quick question we came across could be answered by her notes) and she also sent along a comprehensive list of things to visit in the area which ended up being the guide to our adventures around the area. Everything about our stay was perfect down to the amount of firewood provided with our 2-night stay. The only thing we would have changed about our stay would be to stay longer. We will absolutely be visiting again!

The apple grove site was so cute and cozy. Great setup and really appreciated the layout of the paths, communal amenities, etc. The trek to the falls definitely required some real skill and isn’t something I’d recommend except to seasoned hikers with COMPLETELY waterproof boots (and maybe waterproof pants too, the river was knee deep at some points). Definitely not a “relaxing” nature walk but well worth it for the falls and a great exercise.
A highlight was definitely Leona the Calico who was so friendly and sweet and kept coming back to us all weekend. We loved her company and she was a great little hostess to top off our experience. ❤️

Beautiful, private , well maintained site with incredible views. Just the stop we needed as we headed towards Canada for our Overlanding trip in Newfoundland. Heather was responsive, efficient and accommodating. We will be coming back when we return in a couple of months on our way back home to Georgia. I can’t recommend this beautiful place enough. We feel totally rejuvenated.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Retreat and Tiny Cabin
I absolutely loved my trip with my partner this weekend to Robbin’s tiny cabin. It’s small but mighty! Packed with everything you might need for a weekend getaway in the woods next to a beautiful river. I am a bit scared of heights but the super comfy king sized bed in the loft, and sturdy ladder helped so much. We will be back 🏕️

We had a great stay at this campsite in New York. The farm was absolutely beautiful and made for a peaceful, relaxing setting. Our site had everything we could have asked for and was well set up for a comfortable stay. Heather, the host, was very nice, welcoming, and informative throughout our visit. She made sure we had everything we needed and shared helpful information about the property and area. We would definitely stay here again.
