HomeGrown HideAways is a farm, lodging, and event facility nestled in a hundred-acre holler in the Appalachian foothills near Berea, Ky. Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required. For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse). All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH! Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap. The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. For other activities, restaurants, shopping, music, and more, we're happy to share our favorites, but highly recommend checking out the Berea Tourism website.

Wow where to start. The farm is beautiful. So much land to hike and enjoy nature. The hosts were so kind and helpful with everything. The bunkhouse was great - with good sleeping bags and some blankets it works great in winter. The farmhouse/kitchen was incredible. So cozy and everything you could need to cook great meals and feel at home. Honestly could not recommend this place more. Affordable, beautifully designed, warm, and so many thoughtful details like yummy coffee and tea. They have so many options to stay- great place for everybody!

Weekend Trip to Red River Gorge Glamping Resort

This is a cute little cabin, perfect for one or two people who want a peaceful time in the Gorge with lots of hanging out time. My husband and I rented this for a between Christmas and new years break and had a wonderful time. The living room is bright and cheery because of all the windows and we had so much fun relaxing and playing board games. The hosts are very welcoming and responsive and took care of a problem with the hot tub later in the evening.

We had a lovely stay in the Peaceful Pasture cabin. It was the perfect size for two and the windows let in so much natural light in the morning and all day. The property was quiet and we really enjoyed our stay overall. Heidi was an excellent host, checking to make sure we received all of our check in instructions and directions well before we arrived. It was a much needed getaway and we hope to return again in the warmer months!

Beautiful property tucked away from it all but still close to hiking and dining. The A-frame was super comfortable and clean, as was the communal kitchen, hang out, bathroom building. Excited to see how everything comes together as they are adding a store and other features. We will be back! :)

This was my first glamping experience and I simply loved it! The yurts looked more magical on site and we had a cozy bonfire and toasted marshmallows by the fire. Me and my friends are glad we chickened out of camping and did glamping instead because it provided us more comfort and coziness than camping. We woke up to horses running around near the area and had another fire. Totally worth the trip!

Tom’s camper was the perfect getaway on a long weekend for this single mama and two kiddos! It’s perfectly located between the region’s three state parks, with cozy beds, ample heat, plenty of towels and bedding, and all the kitchenware needed. The hot tub, hammock, and fire pit were perfect - the wood and snores supplies were a great touch! The outdoor tv/projection screen were super easy to figure out thanks to their excellent instructions. My kids can’t wait to come back!

We loved our tent camping experience on Sarah's land. She was super responsive on any questions we had. There were a ton of little touches in the glamping tent that made it so nice, like games, extra blankets, extra toiletries, a mini fridge and a microwave. Being able to see the animals each day and having such a picturesque area was great. It was very peaceful.

Weekend Trip to Red River Gorge Glamping Resort

I absolutely adored our yurt stay in the Gorge. The property is perfect, the yurt is spacious, has electricity, a small fridge, space heater if needed, a very comfy bed, and cute outdoor lights. The bathhouse is wonderful with a hot shower and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There are toilets on the end of each side of the bath house. There is one campfire for the whole yurt village which I loved! It gave us a real community feel and we got to know 6 other friends around the fire one night. There is cornhole, dart board and horseshoes as well. It would be helpful to know that the parking lot that you are supposed to use can only be accessed by the "road" to the right that doesn't look like a road after you turn off the main one. The other road takes you to the property as well and some of us parked there as well since all of our cars wouldn't have fit in the other lot. You will love this sweet place! I am inspired to buy some property and make my own yurt village now.

The A frame cabins are absolutely adorable. The entire property is beautiful. The club house has everything you need for a wonderful glamping experience. But it’s no joke when it rains - do not attempt with a low clearance vehicle! Otherwise everything was perfect and so delightful! 10/10 would stay here again!

The place was perfect for us. The cabins were clean and we really enjoyed the location. The bathrooms and kitchen were a great upgrade from straight camping. There was only one fire area and no one else joined us, so maybe smaller areas by each cabin would be nice. We enjoyed it very much and I’d love to come back.

We only had one night here but we loved it! It was very clean. Very peaceful! We were the only ones there but if there are other people you have to share the fire pit. So if you dont like that, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, very nice place to stay! Nowhere for kids to play except the grass area around the yurts. Would be nice for a family to rent all the yurts and have the place to yourself. There are 5 all together if I remember correctly. One thing I would say is dont go by the coordinates it says . Use the actual address it gives you. The coordinates stop in the middle of the road and you still have approximately 3 miles to go.

Weekend Trip to Magnolia Shore

The peace and beauty at the Lily Pad are incredible! It is tucked into a quiet wooded corner of gorgeous Woods Creek Lake, just a short 15 minutes off I-75. I came down from Lexington and this was a perfect weekend getaway in our beautiful hemlock woods. We spent a lot of time on the front porch when we weren’t in the water. A clean sandy creek empties right into the bay in front of the cabin, where you can explore, swim, raft, fish, and float. Lots of frogs and very quiet. Bring your kayak and fishing pole!

This place was amazing! The Nook was great. I had to two teenagers so it was nice to have space in the cabin. The kitchen was a dream! Everything you could need or want. The land line was perfect so my nephew could call home. There are little extras you can purchase as needed. The kids enjoyed trying the Ale8 drink. Honestly not a single complaint. If you are thinking about staying here just go ahead and book it!
