HomeGrown HideAways is a farm, lodging, and event facility nestled in a hundred-acre holler in the Appalachian foothills near Berea, Ky. Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required. For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse). All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH! Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap. The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. ATTRACTIONS: Goldenrod Gap is a peaceful refuge nestled in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, in Menifee County minutes from Red River Gorge, Natural Bridge, Cave Run Lake, Broke Leg Falls Park and the Sheltowee Trace Trail. The sites are newly developed and being added to frequently. As you enter the camp you will cross a bridge and are welcomed by two majestic hillsides onto the 35 acre property. These hills have a variety of trails from rustic to groomed, which are open to foot traffic only. On the trails you will find many species of vegetation and natural resources, which range from easy, moderate to strenuous, distances vary, short hikes take minutes. A few hikes take longer and have more strenuous terrain. There are native trees, which includes Tulip Poplar, (the Kentucky state tree), giant oaks (hundreds of years old), several variety of pine trees, holly, hemlock, beech, ironwood, sassafras, box elder and maple. Take a walk, take pictures and bring a picnic lunch. In the summer there are beautiful flowering goldenrod, and many pollinators and addition forest wildflowers all year. These pollinator magnets definitely lure numerous birds and insects for your viewing pleasure. There are beautiful rock ledges to enjoy as well. CAMPSITES: #1 The RV campsite is easily accessed from the highway and includes water, electricity, septic dump station, shower, restroom and high speed internet. Cross over the bridge, entrance is limited to shorter trailers under 30 feet. Turn left and cross over a small creek and arrive at your site. Park in the designated area. Video surveillance is on site. Two sites are available on a scenic overlook with an outdoor toilet nearby. Site #2 has a furnished Whiteduck 16' bell tent and site #3 is a rustic area and your choice of spot. Stop in after a day on the trails, cliffs or Cave Run lake in the area. Currently still a work in progress, we offer a customized bell tent which sits on a 20 x 30 platform deck, with a customized, insulated, fully functioning outhouse which has a shower, commode, and sink that allows endless hot water. “Elvira” is our cozy small cabin. Both have electricity, and water, and full bathroom accessibility at their own site. “Hey Jude” also offers a small wood burning stove to accommodate for cooler temperatures with an Eden pure heater, and fans for warmer weather days, and mobile AC. ELVIRA has a window AC unit and heating with small unit. The customized fully furnished bathroom just steps away from the tent, offers endless hot water. There is also a water spicket just a few steps away from the deck. Note that should the wood stove want to be used, guests need to supply their own SMALL pieces of wood as it is a miniature fireplace. The cabin will be designed with a mini split heating and air system, in the future. WiFi is not currently available though an amenity that is upcoming in the very near future, fiber internet being installed mid July 2025. Cell phone access is good in our area typically. Red River Rewind has common shared amenities to include: a 3/4 acre fully stocked pond which is available for simply viewing its beauty as the fountain flows, or catch and release fishing as seasonally available, many family and friend oriented activities to choose from to check out and return such as cornhole, large checkers, and many more. As time and weather permits, we plan to expand with really neat projects and extras in upcoming months, and would love to have visitors passing through our beautiful area who need or want a place to stay or locals who just want a little change of scenery. We are simple, ordinary people who just want to share some of the things we love about life with others. On a clear note, there are beautiful images of the stars here. You will also have accessibility to a telescope.

Hot tub with the movie screen was so fun! Campground was quiet & our site was secluded. We visited the Natural Tunnel state park nearby & were blown away. Great Appalachian adventure!

$50, before fees. That's what this cost. I've paid upwards of $200 for other accommodations that are equivalent.

We had an absolutely wonderful time here! This place far exceeded our expectations, and the photos simply can't capture its true charm. You really need to see it for yourself. It’s a true love nest. If you're seeking a space that combines simplicity with elegance—where you and your loved one can feel secure and secluded—this is it. The only thing I’d suggest is adding Wi-Fi, as there's no cell service here.

Weekend Trip to Red River Gorge Glamping Resort

Yurt #4 was dreamy. I am still so impressed by the bedding. I haven't slept that well in a while. The queen-sized mattress was so comfortable, and the sheets were so soft. I brought extra bedding because I was worried about getting cold. No need! I was so grateful for the heater and the ambience of the flames. The sound of the rain on the yurt was unreal. Zero leaks, too!!! Everything was clean including the very modern bath house. The water was hot and the heaters in there were so welcome. I was excited to see the K-cup coffee maker. I only wish we had packed our small camp table. I saw some of the other yurts had a table though. Thank goodness we brought our canopy to cook under and escape the rain. We did not get to try the communal hot tub. Overall, we loved this Retreat and really hope to visit again when we return to the incredible Red River Gorgeous!!!!! Peace and appreciation to our wonderful hosts :)
