HomeGrown HideAways is a farm, lodging, and event facility nestled in a hundred-acre holler in the Appalachian foothills near Berea, Ky. Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required.
For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse).
All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH!
Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap.
The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge.

Our Cozy Log Cabin sits on four beautiful wooded acres in Cliffview Resort. Located in the Daniel Boone National Forest just minutes from Natural Bridge State Park and Red River Gorge hiking area. We are EXCITED to announce, we have built a deck and added a HOT TUB to the property. We have also changed our policy and we are now PET FRIENDLY!
Mountain Blessings is a privately owned custom log cabin located inside Cliffview Resort. It sits on 4 wooded acres with 2 trails. One goes to a spring fed small pond, the other to Overlook Point. We have also changed our policy and we are now PET FRIENDLY!
It has 3 bedrooms with two full baths. Main floor has a large bedroom with 9 foot ceilings, a queen size bed and flat screen tv. Also on the main floor is a full bath with a tub shower combo. Second floor has a spacious loft with a queen bed. One side of the loft has a separate bunk room with sliding barn door and a set of custom built twin bunk beds. The other side of the loft has a beautiful bath room with double sinks and a stand-up shower.
The cabin kitchen boasts a blend of rustic charm and modernity, featuring stainless steel appliances, tailored cabinetry, and a welcoming kitchen table surrounded by six chairs, complemented by four trendy barstools.
The living room showcases grandeur with a 20′ vaulted ceiling, a warming gas fireplace, and a smart TV. Massive picture windows frame breathtaking views, creating a harmonious blend of sophistication and nature’s beauty.
The back deck is an outdoor haven, featuring a convenient gas grill, ample seating for six, and a breathtaking view of the gorge. A perfect setting for al fresco dining and enjoying nature’s beauty.

Wow where to start. The farm is beautiful. So much land to hike and enjoy nature. The hosts were so kind and helpful with everything. The bunkhouse was great - with good sleeping bags and some blankets it works great in winter. The farmhouse/kitchen was incredible. So cozy and everything you could need to cook great meals and feel at home. Honestly could not recommend this place more. Affordable, beautifully designed, warm, and so many thoughtful details like yummy coffee and tea. They have so many options to stay- great place for everybody!

Weekend Trip to Red River Gorge Glamping Resort
This is a cute little cabin, perfect for one or two people who want a peaceful time in the Gorge with lots of hanging out time. My husband and I rented this for a between Christmas and new years break and had a wonderful time. The living room is bright and cheery because of all the windows and we had so much fun relaxing and playing board games.
The hosts are very welcoming and responsive and took care of a problem with the hot tub later in the evening.

We had a lovely stay in the Peaceful Pasture cabin. It was the perfect size for two and the windows let in so much natural light in the morning and all day. The property was quiet and we really enjoyed our stay overall. Heidi was an excellent host, checking to make sure we received all of our check in instructions and directions well before we arrived. It was a much needed getaway and we hope to return again in the warmer months!

Weekend Trip to Magnolia Shore
The peace and beauty at the Lily Pad are incredible! It is tucked into a quiet wooded corner of gorgeous Woods Creek Lake, just a short 15 minutes off I-75. I came down from Lexington and this was a perfect weekend getaway in our beautiful hemlock woods. We spent a lot of time on the front porch when we weren’t in the water. A clean sandy creek empties right into the bay in front of the cabin, where you can explore, swim, raft, fish, and float. Lots of frogs and very quiet. Bring your kayak and fishing pole!

This place was amazing! The Nook was great. I had to two teenagers so it was nice to have space in the cabin. The kitchen was a dream! Everything you could need or want. The land line was perfect so my nephew could call home. There are little extras you can purchase as needed. The kids enjoyed trying the Ale8 drink. Honestly not a single complaint. If you are thinking about staying here just go ahead and book it!

This place is a gem! We stayed in the Nook and loved the cool breeze through the screen windows and hearing the rushing creek right next to us. It's an easy walk over to the bath house and the shared kitchen - which made preparing food feel luxurious. The Nook was private and quiet. The whole property is beautiful and clearly maintained with love. We really appreciated the clear signage that allowed us to utilize shared spaces respectfully and to navigate the property with ease. Apparently there's amazing hiking nearby which we didn't have time to explore this time but we would love to return.

My girlfriend and I loved our long weekend stay at the Rough Creek Bunkhouse. Amanda, David and our hosts all made sure that we had exactly what we needed for a relaxing stay.
If you just click the address listed on Hipcamp it is roughly 1/2 mile off from the actual location. I recommend entering the actual address into your maps app. The Retreat is tucked back off of High Rock Rd and can be easily missed especially if you are arriving later in the evening with low visibility.
Despite being called the Bunkhouse, we assumed that there would be at least one bed that is not a bunk bed. That is not the case. There are only two beds both of which are bunk beds. I would recommend adding sleeping arrangements for adults who do not wish to sleep in a bunk bed. The property owners were in the process of transitioning to new ownership and were still working on unboxing supplies. The cabin did not have a grill or firepit for our use which was disappointing. I am hoping that the new owners will add these things for future guests to enjoy.
Overall the cabin and property was exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend getaway. I would absolutely go back to the Retreat at High Rock for another stay.

My kids and I had a wonderful time over their fall break at Homegrown Hideaways. I cannot recommend it enough! It’s perfect for any level of camping, from primitive sites to BYO RV to renting one or staying in a treehouse or a yurt or in our case the Nook bunkhouse. Everything was super clean and the chefs kitchen was a godsend for making hot meals. It’s a choose your own adventure kind of place— cook over a fire if you want— there’s firewood and starter, or just make s’mores and cook the rest of your food inside. Bringing our own food and having fridge and freezer space to store it made it possible to have a very delightful and economical 4 night stay! Jessa and Nathan work really hard to make the place accessible and welcoming. They’re wonderful people! My kids really enjoyed rock hounding in the creek beds, hiking around the property, and playing board games in the game room. We would definitely return and have already recommended it highly to everyone we’ve met since. The other campers we met while there were all also very kind and fun to hang out with! Jessa and Nathan were very accommodating and wonderful hosts.
