We are a small 50 acre ranch in the panhandle of Florida. Most of our property is pasture. Our mile-long driveway is lined with Oak Trees. We also have a few acres of Mayhaw trees in a seasonal pond. We raise Miniature Tennessee Fainting Goats to sell as family pets. We pasture a half dozen sheep for wool, live with several Peafowl for beauty and entertainment, and a couple dozen Guinee Fowl for pest control and more entertainment. A hundred and twenty-five chickens supply us with plenty of eggs. A dozen ducks offer up a few eggs a day as well. You can pet the goats and Baboy, our Potbellied pig. Walking in the pastures offers a glimpse at the local variety of flowers, birds, and insect life. Stay away from the dozen bee hives we watch over. This is a very quiet and welcoming place. We do have three Great Pyrenees gradian dogs roaming the property at night. They are mostly quiet but can occasionally spend a bit of the night barking and chasing predictors. Coyotes, foxes, and raccoons are better just off the property.
Hang out, relax, read, and feed the goats. Monticello has some great restaurants, antique shops, a well-equipped sporting goods store, and a hardware store.
If you are a cyclist, there are hundreds of miles of clay roads through the North Florida and South Georgia countryside. There are very few cars and lots of views. We have some routes to share. The clear-water spring-fed Wacissa River is nearby. Bring your own canoe or kayak, or rent one from one of the businesses at the head of the river. The Aucilla River is also nearby. Both are world-class trips. We can offer advice and guide services.

This rural enclave has level, sandy terrain, Oak trees, Pine trees, some Spanish moss and a community of farm animals: horses, dogs, ducks, emu. The separation from city lights enables one to see a massive number of stars that would otherwise be obscured. Thank God for the availability of the Bluewater Horse Ranch!!

Anna is an exceptional host, and this stay was something truly special. From the moment I arrived, she went above and beyond, even leading me to the perfectly level spot on her ATV, which made setup stress free and welcoming.
I had easy access to water and 30-amp power, and everything worked exactly as needed. Anna is incredibly accommodating and clearly cares deeply about the experience she provides.
Although I stayed during the winter, the magic of this place was absolutely still present. There’s a calm, grounded feeling here that’s hard to put into words…the kind that makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper.
Her dogs are so well behaved, and her sweet old boy completely won me over. He even graciously tolerated my very opinionated (and slightly bossy) chihuahua. He is a true gentle giant.
And the horses and ponies… there really aren’t words. Their beauty, presence, and spirit are something you simply have to see in person to understand. It’s clear how much love and care goes into them.
Anna has created something truly special here, and it shows in every detail. She’s worked incredibly hard for what she’s built, and it’s an honor to experience a place shared with so much heart. I’m so grateful for this stay and would absolutely return.

It is quiet and was the perfect spot to be near family during the holiday. This is a simple, no bells and whistle campground. Spots were level and roomy. We did not know to request a fire pit but we were able to use one anyways- you can also bring your own. My boys loved the pond, and watching the small aircraft take off. We look forward to utilizing it more when we come down to visit family. My only suggestion would be hooks or a spare bench in bathhouse for belongings when showering etc.

Great little campground. No frills just the essentials you needed, water, sewer and electricity. Great 5G UW cell service. Only complaint is the idiot campers that have enough lights on outside to light up a half the campground all night long. Like trying to sleep under a street light. We do not not want to see your lights all night long. Other than that highly recommend the place.

This is really a wonderful spot! If you need a place to unwind, relax and heal this is the perfect spot for it! I spent 5 nights here by myself car camping in tent spot 1 and it really did wonders for my well being! It's so peaceful and quiet, nothing but fresh country breeze and some cows walking by once in a while I am so glad and grateful I found it. I really needed it. I wish I could've stayed longer! 💯🏕️

About
The 375-acre Lake Reed Bingham is the star attraction at Reed Bingham State Park. Visitors can explore the water lily and tupelo tree-lined lake by boat, by renting a canoe or kayak, or by fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, and bream. However you choose to explore, you’ll likely spot wildlife along the way, such as bald eagles, tortoises, and alligators. Back on land, seven miles of walking and biking trails lead through the park’s diverse ecosystems, from bald cypress swamp to sand hills and a pitcher plant bog. Reed Bingham State Park Campground serves tent and RV campers, while one primitive, paddle-in island campsite sleeps up to 30 people.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Reservations can be made at the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites website or by phone.
- Booking in advance is strongly recommended. Reservations can be made 13 months ahead of time.
- Campsites that have not been reserved in advance are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
When to go
Reed Bingham State Park is open year-round, and while most visitors arrive in summer, there’s plenty of appeal throughout the year. Boating and paddling are popular in the hot summer season, while the cooler temperatures of fall are ideal for hiking and biking. In winter, birdwatchers can see nesting bald eagles as well as thousands of migrating black vultures and turkey vultures.
Know before you go
- Boat, canoe, kayak, bicycle, and fishing gear rentals are available in the park.
- For supplies, stop at the Walmart in Adel, a 10-minute drive away.
- All pets must be on a six-foot leash and continuously attended to. Pets are not allowed in any buildings.
