Come join us at this unforgettable camping spot at Historic Castleberry Bridge where the Gold Rush happened, the Indian fish trap still exist, the birth place of Denver Colorado and the hideout of Jesse James just some of the history that happened at your campsite on the Etowah River. Our motto is "Thanks for keeping it clean," so help us spread the word and keep it true! Look for the gate at 851 Castleberry Bridge Rd (right where the bridge crosses the river) and drive through the gate and George (owner) should be there. He will open the second gate for you where you will be able to drive through and park at your site - weather permitting. To the left of the first gate is the community area with toilet, grills, picnic tables, etc. Remember, your phone might not work near the river. There's so much fun waiting for you to explore! Tubes are available for a $5 charge per day. If you're feeling extra adventurous, there are rope swings that let you swing over the river, and there are super cool places to splash around and swim, part of which, is in the Indian Fish Trap. When your tummy starts rumbling, don't worry. We've got you covered with grills in the community area where you can cook delicious food. So you can have a tasty meal with the sound of the river flowing in the background. Also we are within 5-10 minutes to stores, restaurant , etc. But wait, there's more excitement! If you're looking for an even bigger adventure, this is the perfect spot to begin an awesome kayaking trip if you brought your kayak. Castleberry Bridge is where people from all over the country come to experience going through the Miner's Tunnel. No electricity yet a single power cord could be run for extra $10.00 for your visit. There is a fire pit close to the tent spot on, “Skip’s Campsite”. Another camp site” Aqua-Fine-A” that has a walk in creek access, and you have to cross the creek to get to that one. It is farther away from “Skip’s bathroom access. It has a more established flag stone fire pit. It is our original primitive sight. There is no water reservoir or possibility of electricity at “Aqua-Fine-A” campsite. Everything must be packed in and out on foot. Both sights require a hike to campsites on foot with uneven rooted trails. {You are welcome to use our well loved red wheelbarrow to haul items in}. There is access to a bigger fire pit “M & M fire pit”, and a propane grill option (this is first come first serve/sharing spot). More campsites developing over time and there is a massage practitioner on site if you are looking for the whole experience (29 years experience in healing modalities and shamanic blood line). If you are looking to experience nature cabin style then, “The Minor Escape” is for you. This has a full refrigerator, full stand up filtered water shower, kitchen sink, separate master, two bedroom lofts with ladder access, kitchen sink, ceiling fans, window a/c units for summer and space heaters for winter (Eden pure heater that shows fireplace flames). Our family loves this land and there is always new areas being cultivated in various spots. You will see us out there either with our hobby farm of animals, gardening or building a new area. I am a teacher, guide, artist, and healer. This land is sacred and magical. It is used to heal, restore, inspire and rejuvenate many locally and internationally.

Miners Cabin: The miners cabin is located in between Dawsonville and Dahlonega Georgia in the heart of gold country. This unexpected gem has been our family’s oasis for the past 7 years and now, we are opening it up to share with others. Access to the cabin will be via our driveway and guests will not be allowed to drive directly to the cabin. There is a short 3 minute walk from parking access to the cabin. This walk is on an incline and those who may have difficulties walking up or down an incline or on uneven surfaces should consider this walk when planning your trip. Due to access limitations, we ask that you not bring more than two vehicles, We have additional parking at another property if needed but please let us know in advance. The Cabin sits on a grassy meadow a stones throw from cane branch stream. In the morning and afternoon you should expect to see or hear all types of wildlife. We have a family of raccoons that come around in the summer months and will eat just 5 foot from the porch. In the winter we have several deer that access the creekbed. The wildlife is fed often by our family and has been for the past seven years. Hummingbirds, woodpeckers, whippoorwills, crows, and even goldfish call this oasis home. At night our kids love to hunt for small crawfish in the creek with a flashlight. While bears are always something to watch for, we don’t typically see them on the property. A few miles of walking paths have been meticulously cared for and created by my father Mike. The mossy stone paths look like something out of a story book in the spring. Along the trails you will find benches and hammocks to lounge on and if you look close enough you may find some crystals that were placed for others to find from some of our many mineral digs over the years. There are two bridges that cross the stream along the paths and an old water wheel from way back that was used in the gold mining process in the creek. Vegetation on the property includes a variety of chantrell and coral mushrooms. If Mushrooming is your thing we have a good stash of chicken of the woods and if it’s fruiting you are welcome to pick it. Mountain laurels line the creek and bloom beautiful pink blossoms in the spring and summer. Cane creek branch is a quiet and beautiful stream. The water only gets about waist high at the deepest point making it perfect for kids or dogs to splash around in. Inside the cabin you will find a few gold pans if you would like to try your luck. We have found gold in the creek along with garnets and a few flashes of platinum. This property used to be the site for a long abandoned gold mine and an old metal water wheel still sits on the creek bank. The water wheel is locked but will still turn and at over 8 ft high it is a sight to see in itself. You will find a few small fish but nothing to shake a pole at. The cabin itself is nothing fancy and we like to keep it that way. It is as primitive as you would expect from the title. Only one electrical outlet is currently in the cabin. There is no running water but there is a water basin for brushing your teeth and washing small items. The bathroom is behind the cabin in a separate facility. This outhouse is unlike anything you have seen and has all of the comforts of home. Sleeping arrangements include a king size bed on a solid frame and a small sofa. You are welcome to pitch a tent or hammock outside as well. In the winter the cabin gets cold, we will provide an electric heater but you should know that it may still get cold inside. The porch looks over the creek and makes a great spot for bird watching. Amenities include a charcoal grill and a fire pit for cooking. The fire pit has several stable adirondack chairs circling it. We have a throwing board on the property however you will need to rent the throwing items from us and sign a waiver. We also have a small swing by our goldfish pond just across the creek. Things to do near us. Kayaking and tubing are just 7 miles down the road. You can rent a kayak from us or from the outfitters. We have 4 sit on top kayaks for adults 2 for children under 100 lbs and several whitewater kayaks are available for rent if you have prior experience. We also will guide you down the river as an additional service. See our price list. Our local outfitter Chestatee River Adventures is typically 30.00 for each kayak and 10.00 for tubing. The trip is 6 miles and can take anywhere from 3-5 hours depending on the water level. Please note that the outfitter is only open during the spring and summer. Our family will take you out no matter the time of year. Fishing on the Chestatee, Etowah, or lake lanier are also great activities and all can be accessed with a short 10 minute drive. Lake Zwerner is a local fishing hot spot great for grabbing a kayak or canoe and spending the day on the water. Gold Mining: Dahlonega is the gold city! Only 15 minutes away you will find Consolidated Gold Mine – Underground Gold Mine Tours. Here you can do some gold and gem mining as part of the tour. The gold museum in scenic dahlonega is close by as well.If you are looking for something more my dad offers trips and will show you the basics or can take you out for an all day dredging experience. You keep whatever you find! Hiking: The area hikes include the start of the great Appalachian (Apple-atch-an) trail. This is amicalola state park a 25 minute drive from the property.

Miners Cabin: The miners cabin is located in between Dawsonville and Dahlonega Georgia in the heart of gold country. This unexpected gem has been our family’s oasis for the past 7 years and now, we are opening it up to share with others. Access to the cabin will be via our driveway and guests will not be allowed to drive directly to the cabin. There is a short 3 minute walk from parking access to the cabin. This walk is on an incline and those who may have difficulties walking up or down an incline or on uneven surfaces should consider this walk when planning your trip. Due to access limitations, we ask that you not bring more than two vehicles, We have additional parking at another property if needed but please let us know in advance. The Cabin sits on a grassy meadow a stones throw from cane branch stream. In the morning and afternoon you should expect to see or hear all types of wildlife. We have a family of raccoons that come around in the summer months and will eat just 5 foot from the porch. In the winter we have several deer that access the creekbed. The wildlife is fed often by our family and has been for the past seven years. Hummingbirds, woodpeckers, whippoorwills, crows, and even goldfish call this oasis home. At night our kids love to hunt for small crawfish in the creek with a flashlight. While bears are always something to watch for, we don’t typically see them on the property. A few miles of walking paths have been meticulously cared for and created by my father Mike. The mossy stone paths look like something out of a story book in the spring. Along the trails you will find benches and hammocks to lounge on and if you look close enough you may find some crystals that were placed for others to find from some of our many mineral digs over the years. There are two bridges that cross the stream along the paths and an old water wheel from way back that was used in the gold mining process in the creek. Vegetation on the property includes a variety of chantrell and coral mushrooms. If Mushrooming is your thing we have a good stash of chicken of the woods and if it’s fruiting you are welcome to pick it. Mountain laurels line the creek and bloom beautiful pink blossoms in the spring and summer. Cane creek branch is a quiet and beautiful stream. The water only gets about waist high at the deepest point making it perfect for kids or dogs to splash around in. Inside the cabin you will find a few gold pans if you would like to try your luck. We have found gold in the creek along with garnets and a few flashes of platinum. This property used to be the site for a long abandoned gold mine and an old metal water wheel still sits on the creek bank. The water wheel is locked but will still turn and at over 8 ft high it is a sight to see in itself. You will find a few small fish but nothing to shake a pole at. The cabin itself is nothing fancy and we like to keep it that way. It is as primitive as you would expect from the title. Only one electrical outlet is currently in the cabin. There is no running water but there is a water basin for brushing your teeth and washing small items. The bathroom is behind the cabin in a separate facility. This outhouse is unlike anything you have seen and has all of the comforts of home. Sleeping arrangements include a king size bed on a solid frame and a small sofa. You are welcome to pitch a tent or hammock outside as well. In the winter the cabin gets cold, we will provide an electric heater but you should know that it may still get cold inside. The porch looks over the creek and makes a great spot for bird watching. Amenities include a charcoal grill and a fire pit for cooking. The fire pit has several stable adirondack chairs circling it. We have a throwing board on the property however you will need to rent the throwing items from us and sign a waiver. We also have a small swing by our goldfish pond just across the creek. Things to do near us. Kayaking and tubing are just 7 miles down the road. You can rent a kayak from us or from the outfitters. We have 4 sit on top kayaks for adults 2 for children under 100 lbs and several whitewater kayaks are available for rent if you have prior experience. We also will guide you down the river as an additional service. See our price list. Our local outfitter Chestatee River Adventures is typically 30.00 for each kayak and 10.00 for tubing. The trip is 6 miles and can take anywhere from 3-5 hours depending on the water level. Please note that the outfitter is only open during the spring and summer. Our family will take you out no matter the time of year. Fishing on the Chestatee, Etowah, or lake lanier are also great activities and all can be accessed with a short 10 minute drive. Lake Zwerner is a local fishing hot spot great for grabbing a kayak or canoe and spending the day on the water. Gold Mining: Dahlonega is the gold city! Only 15 minutes away you will find Consolidated Gold Mine – Underground Gold Mine Tours. Here you can do some gold and gem mining as part of the tour. The gold museum in scenic dahlonega is close by as well.If you are looking for something more my dad offers trips and will show you the basics or can take you out for an all day dredging experience. You keep whatever you find! Hiking: The area hikes include the start of the great Appalachian (Apple-atch-an) trail. This is amicalola state park a 25 minute drive from the property.

I loved camping here. It was so relaxing and so much fun. Can't wait to come back and bring the kids next time. They will love it! Not to mention the hosts are amazing and really try to make your stay great. They explain everything in detail. Provide firewood and tender everyday. WOW!!!!! What an incredible experience we had while camping from 7/3/25-7/6/25!!!! This campground was simply gorgeous with the beauty of nature all around you. The owners are fantastic, kind, knowledgeable and friendly wanting to make sure that you enjoy your visit. My grand daughter cut her toe and as soon as George and Ginny seen her being carried, they came rushing with the first aid kit and quickly had her bandaged up so she was on the run again right away! The campground has huge handmade picnic benches, grills with cleaning tools and spatula attached, bags for garbage disposals that were being emptied constantly, Life jackets free for the little ones, tubes rented all day for $5/each, the cleanest port-o-potty’s I’ve even seen and specially carved seats made out of logs all around the area so there are plenty of spots to just sit and relax to watch the water and the guests float by on tubes or listen to the birds. At night George or his son,Nick came around and set up the camp fires complete with kindled wood and starter. We just lit them up and we enjoyed fires each night. We travelled from Madison Alabama and we are already trying to set up our next trip. I guarantee once the word gets out about this place, it will be hard to get in!!!! Laura and Bill did an excellent job at making sure our needs were met. The grounds are on a small lake, it's very quiet and rustic. The bathrooms were clean and functional, the grouunds were clean. There were only a few other people booked that night, so we had our choice of spots and even moved a couple of times. Laura checked in on us a couple of times through the evening to make sure we had what we needed. It was my firs time camping in my Tesla, and this site was great for that. I live in Atlanta, so just wanted somewhere to get out of the city, take my dogs, and enjoy nature, and this hit the spot. Thanks Laura and Bill for a great stay!!

Great place to get away in Georgia! My family enjoyed our stay here in the quiet spot. The full hookup worked great and the spot was plenty big for our travel trailer, 23ft. Pulling into the spot was easy and it wasn’t too bad backing out. A larger RV would require an expert driver to back out of this spot due to surrounding trees and bend in the road. Y'all, I cannot tell you just how much fun we had this weekend. George and Ginnie were amazing! The campsites are perfect and a long the beautiful Etowah. There is so much history right where you are camping. The camping and community area are incredibly well maintained. There is only one porta-potty, but they keep it clean and stocked 24/7. Tubing all day is $5 and well worth it, fun rapids, deep swimming spots. We will ABSOLUTELY be back

The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. I received a tour of the campsite and was able to pick my spot. Bill moved the picnic table to the area I chose to camp at. The property was clean although I was told there was no hot water in the shower. But it was so hot outside the cool water was welcoming. The land and sites are beautiful. Especially the sun setting and rising off the lake.

Roads need lots of work and low hanging branches aren’t good for big rigs. We managed to get our 42 ft with tow in but were very concerned about getting back out! No big problems, hit bottom a couple of times but managed to get through very tight gate at the exit without scratches on our rig. Lovely spot but obvious owner has lost interest. They mentioned it was for sale!!

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Our host met us shortly after we arrived and gave us the skinny on everything. The site was in pristine shape, well defined, flat and graveled. The water and 50 amp service worked perfectly. This is a working farm and has goats, sheep, and donkeys along with a very friendly and well-fed dog named Gordo. It was a nice open area surrounded by trees. The evenings were quiet with fireflies near the tree line. There is a very nice fire ring, although we used our free standing propane fire pit at night. Everything about our stay was perfect. If you are going to be near the area, I would strongly encourage you to book a stay here.

The three full-size tracks are categorized by skill level: MX1 serves as our Vet/Intermediate track, MX2 is tailored for advanced and pro riders, while MX3 is perfect for beginners and those looking to enhance their motocross skills. Each track offers excellent viewing areas for friends and family, making it a great spot for spectators to enjoy the action. While our tracks are open weather permitting, please note that they may occasionally close for maintenance, updates, or scheduled races. About

About 25 miles north of Atlanta marks the spot where 160,000 troops met in battle at Kennesaw Mountain. Confederate Gen. Joseph E. Johnston and his troops stalled Union Gen. William T. Sherman on his march to Atlanta. History buffs can view the dramatic landscape as southern troops tried one last gamble, in vain, to prevent Sherman from reaching Atlanta.

Within the park itself, see nearly 11 miles of earthen works that deterred advancing troops. Confederate forces slowed Sherman's troops down with these walls, but they couldn't stop the massive columns of men maneuvering to take Atlanta.

Living history demos and guided tours happen throughout the year to give you a sense for what happened over a two-week period in the summer of 1864. Park rangers and volunteers show you monuments on the grounds of the park that commemorate the men who gave their lives here.

Kennesaw Mountain has more than just history awaiting you and your family. If you start at the visitor's center, you can hike 1.4 miles up the road and another 1.2 miles on walking trails to reach the summit of the peak. The actual change in elevation is 700 feet. There is a road that goes the mountaintop that's open on weekdays if you want to motor to the top. On weekends, a shuttle service takes you to the peak.

Feel close to nature with 17 miles of interpretive trails on the grounds of the park. A paved road provides a great bike trail. Feel free to walk your leashed pooch as long as the leash is less than 6 feet long. Picnic areas let you enjoy lunch while visiting, and grills allow you to prepare a hearty meal for a summertime getaway in this day-use park. Colorful foliage in the fall makes for beautiful scenery.
