This special little rustic cabin is nestled amongst 100 unspoiled acres of mixed forest with various walking trails on the property. This cabin is OFF GRID (limited solar power) but has a wood stove (bundles of firewood available for purchase), propane outdoor portable grill, and enough solar power for very small electronic appliances. Pitch your tent on the hilltop plateaus with lake and sunset views (zone 8 or 9). Or your Hammock in Zone 6 under the trees. Pit toilet available (zone 7). Power is available along with the use of the common deck and BBQ area in (zones 3 and; 4). Includes Outdoor Hot Shower Stall and Sink. Rent the Indoor loft space (zone 2), with 2x double air mattress, power, TV, fridge, dishes, air fryer, kettle, toaster, microwave, and hot plate. Power up your Van or RV (zone 1) with outdoor plugs, and park on the newly created flat drive area. For the more athletic, hike up to the cleared forest edge in zone 10 or get really rustic in zone 11 hike into the bush for some natural Bush floor camping. We stayed at the Hemlock Grove site with 7 people, 3 cars and had plenty of room! We had 2 hammocks and 3 tents, this site is great for hammocking. Brent was very accommodating and provided all the information we needed. Unfortunately we got hit with some bad weather, but I would recommend Tryfan Forest to anyone looking to enjoy a quiet weekend on a beautiful piece of land.

We absolutely loved our stay at Derrick and Rachel's place! It was everything we dreamed of. The place is private, quiet and you are able to fully relax here. The Dome is beautiful, set high with gorgeous lake views. It is clean, extremely comfortable and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. They have every amenity you require, and excellent seating areas outside (around the fire, and at the dock). The available kayak, canoe and paddleboards allows you to fully enjoy the property. The sauna/shower was such a nice touch and a great way to unwind at the end of the day. If you are looking for a hidden gem, slice or paradise, or the perfect getaway this is your place! Rachel was very responsive and helpful. We highly recommend.

The Mitziville team was incredibly welcoming and accommodating — thanks to them, I was able to organize a surprise birthday celebration for my husband and bring together our big group of friends. We were absolutely thrilled with our spot: a spacious area with several fire pits, a provided toilet, and picnic tables. It felt private and peaceful since the nearby sites were set far apart. It’s one of those rare moments when you stumble upon a hidden gem. The nature was stunning, and the grounds were beautifully maintained. We’ll definitely be back — our group has been looking for a place like this for a long time

The fall colours were incredible and we got to hang out with the squirrels and toads. This spot is very private with lots of space for parking and tents, and a nice large fire ring. Definitely prepare the necessities for taking care of business in the wild!

Everything about this place was perfect for us! It was easy to find, private and clean. Our site was right on the water with a fire pit and a picnic table. The outhouse was impeccably cleaned and close to our site. We had access to kayaks and a canoe however, we didn't end up having time to use them. Hayley was extremely responsive and friendly. We definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area!

It was a great spot to pitch a tent and unwind after a few days of fishing some Haliburton lakes. Easy to get to and Jennifer was a great and helpful host. The location is very scenic with the marsh and pond nearby and beautiful tall woods surrounding the site. We didn't get to meet Jennifer (we were too busy fishing all day) but she kept in contact and provided firewood as needed. The only downside I could think of was the barbecue on site didn't seem to have any propane, which was no big deal. We brought our own and actually didn't even know there would be one provided. The outhouse was a bit rustic, but for two guys living off the land it was a luxury to have a toilet at all. Lol. Would definitely go back!

Lovely spot right by the River on Paul's land. My friend and I pitched our tents on site #2 and had plenty of space to enjoy while also being completely seperated from the other sites. This space offers the ease of car camping with the feel of backcountry - aside from the noise of cars near by (which didnt not bother us in the slightest, especially when sleeping at night) I would love to stay here again and am so thankful that Paul has created this space to share with others.
