Welcome to our land. Brooks Mullahy manages Sunswick Farm’s apiary, which includes 20 bee yards and over 200 hives. A bee yard is a collection of anywhere from 4 to 21 hives in one place, and our yards are located at the farm and on private properties throughout Cayuga, Cortland, and Onondaga Counties.  We are busy with our bees and at the same time want to share the wonders of our farm with folks so we are very fortunate to have our neighbors Debbie Kahl and Tracy Yardley manage the HipCamp bookings on our behalf. Debbie lives very close and will be your contact person. She will be happy to answer your questions and will meet you when you arrive and introduce you to the your camping site. Tracy will also be available to help in any way she can.  It is our pleasure to host campers here. We hope you enjoy this piece of land as much as we do.

Cedar Cabin in the Woods
100% (94)
Cabin · Sleeps 2 · 1 bedroom · 1 bed · 1 toilet
We endearingly call this hide away in the woods the Love Shack. Nestled in the woods above a babbling brook, you will be lulled to sleep with the sounds of forest life and flowing water. When you enter the cabin you instantly feel a sense of calm wash over you as the cedar walls impart their peaceful scent. With a full sized bed (BYO sheets blankets and pillows) this is an ideal place for a couples get-a-way, creative/spiritual solo retreat, or nature experience with a young one. You are welcome to enjoy miles of marked walking trails through the forest and orchards of Sunswick Farm, our wild heirloom apple orchard and honey operation (the bees are on the other side of the property and we would love to show them to you if you are interested). Trails lead to a gorge and waterfall. Keep your eyes and ears open for wildlife. The cabin includes a gas camping stove, so you can make coffee in the morning and a small Weber grill. There is a friendly outhouse a short walk away also nestled in the woods.  The cabin has many amenities. There are pots and pans, tea pot, utensils, dish rags and dish soap.  While you will feel secluded at the Cedar Cabin in the Woods, the nearby town of Moravia has all modern conveniences: grocery store, gas station, pizza shop, Loc-Mor thrift (a treasure trove), Kinney's Pharmacy, and more. Don't worry if you left something at home. If it is hot, there are two fantastic swimming spots a short drive away Fillmore Glen (showers available) in Moravia, and The Long Point State Park in Aurora, NY. Located in the Finger Lakes of NY there is no shortage of breweries, wineries, and restaurants to explore as well as scenic and cultural attractions. Please note: No fire arms or fireworks allowed on the property. 4 wheel drive vehicles may be necessary in certain weather conditions, otherwise we can pack you in.

Pitch your tent in a breezy pear grove between stream and meadow. You are welcome to enjoy miles of marked walking trails through the forest and orchards of Sunswick Farm, a working heirloom apple orchard and honey operation (the bees are on the other side of the property and we would love to show them to you if you are interested). The farm is full of wildlife so keep your eyes and ears open. All manner of birds and frogs will be your background music so strap your hammock in the trees and relax. The field is an excellent place to watch fireflies and stargaze. There is a friendly outhouse a short walk away nestled in the woods. It is shared with the Cedar Cabin in the Woods. While you will feel secluded at your campsite, the nearby town of Moravia has all modern conveniences: grocery store, gas station, pizza shop, Loc-Mor thrift (a treasure trove), Kinney Drugs, and more. Don't worry if you left something at home. If it is hot, there are two fantastic swimming spots a short drive away Fillmore Glen (showers available) in Moravia, and The Long Point State Park in Aurora, NY. If you want to sit around and do nothing, you can enjoy that at your campsite! If you want to explore the area, it's the Finger Lakes! There are tons of breweries, wineries, and restaurants as well as scenic and cultural attractions. Do a little of everything at Sunswick Farm!

Nestled in the woods, this campsite offers a serene escape with its cozy cabin and beautiful surroundings. Guests love the sound of the creek and the peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to unwind and relax. The hosts are praised for their hospitality and attentiveness, adding to the comforting experience. While the rustic setting is largely appreciated, a few reviews note that an appreciation for the off-grid lifestyle is necessary.
