This is an 11 acre mountain, and every campsite is designed to give an incredible View of Lake Roosevelt From the property, you could see the backside of the dam on the lake side. The inlet is called Eden Harbor. There’s lake access by foot or a short drive to the other side of the harbor. It’s a great place to go fishing get some sun and relax. Fourteen acres of private, undeveloped forest at the base of Bald Mountain in northeastern Washington. And just around the mountain from Deer Lake Resort!
No water. No toilet. No electricity. Just towering trees, a seasonal creek, fresh air, and whatever it is you’ve been carrying around that could use a little breathing room.
The terrain is rough/bumpy ground underneath meadow grasses and bushes. If you venture up the old logging road for a better spot on the packed dirt, watch out for old stumps hiding in plain sight.
Trailers not recommended up the logging road.
When you book Braehaven, the entire property is yours. There are no designated campsites, so you’re free to choose your own corner of the forest. Set up beneath the pines, in one of the open meadows, or wherever feels like home for a night or two. A few areas have been cleared just enough to help keep the ticks out of your underwear. You’re welcome.
Here you’ll find:
* Snowberries, serviceberries, wild grasses, moss-covered rocks, and probably a few places we haven’t discovered yet
* Deer, wild turkeys, songbirds, and other wildlife that call these woods home
* Mosquitoes. Yellowjackets. Ants. We believe in honest advertising.
Braehaven is best suited for tent campers, car campers, backpackers, camper vans, artists, writers, photographers, hammock enthusiasts, and anyone craving a little solitude. Wandering weirdos have always fit in around here.
Trailers 22 feet or shorter only. Because of the primitive terrain and narrow access, we can’t accommodate larger trailers. Please leave anything over 22 feet at home. We genuinely appreciate it.
The property is about 30 minutes from Spokane and roughly 10 minutes from Loon Lake. 7.2 miles to Deer Lake Resort. While neighboring parcels are large and spread out, this is still a rural community. You’ll enjoy plenty of privacy without feeling completely isolated.
Pets are welcome! Because this is unfenced wilderness with wildlife and a lightly traveled rural road nearby, we recommend bringing a leash, tie-out, portable fence, or another way to keep your pet safely close by.

My family and I were in sites 1 & 2, which was perfect because the bath house (with a shower and laundry) and a nice patch of grass was in the middle of both of our trailers. We were super happy to have found Native Pines! We had been boondocking our way through Washington but, when temps approached 100F, we decided we needed some A/C and a breather.
While all the sites are 30amp only, it was still sufficient for keeping our big rig cool enough, and we were happy to have sewer to be able to do some laundry. The sites are nestled into a pocket in the woods behind (but out of site of) a motel. Our 44' fifth wheel had plenty of room to maneuver within the property as well as fit into one of the back-in sites. It was peaceful and within a 7 minute drive to a beautiful, riverfront park (Roosevelt National Rec Area on the Columbia River) where we did some paddleboarding. And, you can't beat the rate of $35! Thank you John and Michelle!

We camped at Native Pines for two nights over the 4th of July, and even then it was peaceful and quiet. We prefer to stay in campgrounds with few sites for that very reason. All the camp sites, arranged in a circle, were visible to us, but many of the other guests were gone during the day, returning in the evening. We had a great time there.

We spent significant time at the Fort Spokane Visitors Center. The indoor displays were super interesting, and the walking paths (with informative signs) gave us a good place to stretch our legs.

IT WAS AN AMAZING TIME!! With the beautiful views to the nice trail I can’t even explain in words how much we enjoyed our time here! The hosts were so welcoming and helpful it was such a comfortable experience. The campground is spacious and well covered (in case of bad weather hehe) I truly believe this is a HIDDEN GEM. Our family had an amazing trip there and we will definitely be back!!

This was such an AMAZING find!! The camping spot was BEAUTIFUL surrounded by such beautiful views and I can’t even express in words how nice and lovely the Owners are!! My family seriously enjoyed this spot and we will be back! :)

It was super small, super crowded, and not at all private. It’s right next to the waterfall, which is nice, but I’d rather take a day trip to visit and hike than camp there.

It’s a small, tents-only campground. There are only 7 sites, but we stayed for two nights and only one other site was occupied the whole time. It’s right off the road, which makes it easy to find, though it was a little loud sometimes. There were plenty of trees so the sites were fairly private. There’s a swimming area with a dock, and lots of beach to walk along. It was lovely!

I have camped there....at the end of May2018. Very quiet, very remote. BUT....being on the edge of a marsh there are water "holes" that seep up under your tent, bed clothes all wet as wel as the mattress. Be wary of where the "spouts"will be.....and hope for a sunny day so you can dry it all out before bedtime. Other than that, it was a nice place to stay.
