There are two shared privies/outhouses which have basic composting toilets (not flushing). A grassy parking area is provided near the road, however, ALL SITES ARE WALK-IN (with the exception of site #1). ***Please take note that this is private property and the host lives on site. Views of the surrounding fields, woods, and hills are included in the photos. Deer, turkey, foxes, birds, butterflies, and other wildlife are plentiful. Private hiking. The cabin is approximately 220 square feet and sleeps two comfortably, though children are welcome. In addition to the full-sized bed, an adult-sized cot and toddler-sized mattress and extra bedding are available in the cabin. There is also room beside the cabin for a children's tent. Water source for washing and bathing is a rainwater cistern. There is both hot and cold running water. Drinking water will be provided, or guests may bring bottled water. There is no air conditioning. The eco-friendly, solar-powered, Amish-built cabin is naturally cool and comfortable. There are two fans. There is a heater. Composting toilet. Twelve34 House is a modern, midcentury-inspired cabin that offers luxury amenities for the person looking to elevate their vacation. The glass wall opens the indoor chef's kitchen to the outdoor kitchen with gas grill, beverage fridge, and pizza oven on the back deck. Comfortable seating and a tabletop firepit complement the covered area that overlooks the forest and ravine. The butterfly shape of the house offers bedroom suites in both wings, complete with spacious designer baths and king beds with organic bamboo linens and expansive views to the forest just outside the 12 feet sliding doors to the back deck. Bathrooms offer organic Turkish bath towels and organic body products. We loved staying at Esther's place! It's just as advertised, if not even more charming. We were there during the hottest week of the year so far (temps near triple digits), and the A/C & fans kept up well. The furnishings were comfortable and along with the items we brought from home, made for a cozy stay. Thank you!!

3 nights at Hocking Hills Family Fun Center

Pay attention to the pictures. The cabin itself is as follows: 1 bunkbed with a queen/full size bottom bunk bed. And an additional bed. 3 total. A microwave, mini fridge like in a dorm room and a small window unit air conditioner. The bathroom/showers are about 100 yards away depending on what cabin you stay in. It is very peaceful. The air conditioner does cool the cabin sufficiently. Picnic table. Fire pot. There is electricity. You Can plug in other things easily. No TV but honestly we didnt even care. So much to do on the campground itself. They have putt putt. A monstrous inflatable water park for the kids. Showing movies at night. Very nice. Very clean. Very good experience and I am usually too bougie to be honest.

My stay in the Sugar Shack at Fruitdale was magical and transformative. I loved everything about it. Aimee has created a beautiful, idyllic farm, gardens, and sanctuary, everything was just as described, and I couldn’t have had a better time. I especially loved being visited by Tangy, the cat, sitting by the pond, and exploring local hiking trails. The Farm Stand is great, too, and next time, I’ll get my produce there! Thank you for your hard work, hospitality, and careful stewardship of the land. Will definitely return and recommend to others.

Weekend Trip to The cozy mountain log cabin

My family and I had a lovely time in our little cabin. We were greeted when we arrived and got all the info we needed for the weekend. Even the resident dogs came to say hello, which the kid loved. Mornings at the cabin were particularly beautiful- so peaceful and full of song birds. There were other cabins on the property, but the lush forest made you feel secluded. It was a nice little getaway.

David made us feel welcome and taken care of. I appreciated the fire already being built since we arrived close to dark. It’s clear they have taken a lot of care to create a unique space. The creek is perfect - somehow there were no mosquitos. Would definitely stay here again. We happened to be the only ones staying on the land that night so it felt very private, but I think it would still be a nice experience with multiple guests staying at the other cabins due to the landscaping making you feel “tucked”.

We had a great experience at Hocking Hills Family Fun Center! The kids had an absolute blast and stayed entertained the entire time. We also stayed in one of the cabins for two nights while traveling home, and it was a fun and comfortable place to relax and recharge. The bathrooms were clean, the showers had plenty of hot water, and the entire property was well maintained. What really stood out was the staff, they were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. If you’re traveling with family and looking for a place where the kids can have fun while the adults can relax, this is definitely worth a visit. We made some great memories and would gladly stop again!

The cabin is really out there in the woods and there’s a cool stream that runs right in front of it. It’s a unique camping experience. The farm has cool hiking trails and the overall vibe is very friendly and accommodating. Will be returning in the winter.

Super clean and updated cabin! We stayed in cabin #112 nuthatch. Very comfortable and all the amenities were great. They have a dog waste station which was very convenient and helpful. Lots to do and very close to the hocking hills. The staff were very friendly and accommodating! Will be back, highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Fruitdale Farm

I love Fruitdale Farm. The Cattail Cabin was just what we needed for a quick (rainy) weekend trip. We stayed warm and dry and spent a lot of time sitting on the porch watching the red-winged blackbird fledglings in the cattails and their parents coming and going. We fell asleep to the sound of peepers and awoke to the chatter of birds.

Weekend Trip to EJT Retreat

We loved staying here. We wanted a secluded, quiet place but didn’t want have to be stuck outside in case of weather. This location offered trees for our hammocks and a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom inside. The hot tub was an added bonus that topped it all off. Even though it was still too cold in early May, my boys enjoyed jumping in to the pond.

After studying Norse Mythology, my 4th graders had a culminating overnight at this Viking Longhall. It was exactly the experience I was hoping for! David was very accommodating and hospitable. They loved the archery, creek swing, fire pit and the ambiance of the longhouse and yurt!

We were a group of moms on a long weekend getaway, and Fruitdale Farm couldn’t have been a better choice. This cabin is so full of sunlight and cheer. It’s well-appointed with the things you’ll need, and the private deck overlooking the pond is such a peaceful place to relax and connect. We enjoyed wandering on the trails on the farm and hiking on nearby Arc of Appalachia trails.

A “must” visit

Loved this park. We strolled at our own pace, learning so much as we went along. Important history and love that Ohio has so many UNESCO sites now! What a privilege for Ohioans! Love it!

Hopewell Cultural Center is an impressive and important visit. We were only able to stop for a short while but wish we had had more time for a more thorough tour.
