Dockley Ranch Glamp - Hilltop Cabin
100% (30)
Cabin · Sleeps 5
Nestled into 80 undisturbed wooded acres in the Ozarks, Dockley Ranch provides unique getaway opportunities.  Here, you will meet free-roaming alpacas, pastured goats, chickens, and our guardian dogs.  Well-marked hiking trails lead from the house and garden through the woods, down to Columbine Falls and up through maturing oak stands.  Hang your hammock in the Hammock Paddock in front of the cabin, or pull up a stool at the private Lafferty Cabin Bar along the trail to watch the sun set over the rugged Ozark hills.  This newly constructed tavern resides under the preserved roof of an historic 19th century log cabin.  Located 30 minutes from Ava, the “Treasure of the Ozarks,” and 1 hour from Springfield, Branson, and Mansfield, Dockley Ranch stands as an intentional preserve of natural beauty and peace of mind. Our 220 sq ft. Hilltop Cabin, accessible by car, but on a gravel road, has a queen bed on the ground level, a double bed up in the sleeping loft, and a twin bed in the sleeping loft.  This cabin has electricity, and an indoor toilet and kitchenette in a separate building behind the cabin. The last 2 miles to arrive are on a gravel road that requires slow speeds of 5-10 mph.  Most cars can do this with no problem, going slow.  Sports cars or cars with very low clearance should not drive on our road.  On a Saturday night, head to the nearby Oldfield Opry for local music and open jam session. There are 3 other places near the cabin to pitch a tent, or hike into the woods for the camp site of your choice. December-January-February is WINTER MODE. Water access is limited, so there is not a kitchen sink or shower at the cabin. There is a flush toilet and bathroom sink a short walk away at the event center in a heated building. CLIMBERS: we are 5 miles away from Peter's Branch in Mark Twain National Forest ARCHERY: we are 4 miles away from Grundy Memorial Wildlife Area field archery range trail ATV / MOTORCYCLES: We are 21 miles from Mark Twain National Forest Chadwick Motorcycle and ATV Use Area EV Drivers: Be sure to book our RV site with the 50 amp hookup to charge your vehicle while staying in the cabin TRAIL RUNNERS: We have a very scenic 1.5 + mile EXTREMELY LOW TRAFFIC gravel road for running. Some flat areas, some hilly. ALPACAS and GOATS: Our alpacas live near the campsite parking area, and they free-range during the day.  They enjoy giving guests the stink-eye, but they do not spit or kick at people. The goats are easily available to pet or feed.

Very fun place to camp with kids. Owners were great, making sure we had what we needed and giving us tips about things on the hike. Our kids loved the giant fire pit and exploring the stream.

Bachelorette/Bachelor Party
Wow! I can’t say enough good about this place. My fiancé and I rented the whole campground for our joint bachelorette/bachelor party. The grounds are beautiful and it has a fantastic view of the hillside. Both the cabins are cute and cozy with water and coffee inside. The outdoor kitchens are great for a large group. Plenty of outlets around and lots of grills as well. We did the outdoor movie the first night which was super fun and I highly recommend! We got to feed and pet the goats who were so cute. The hike to the falls is well marked and the falls are very pretty. Claire and Myke are attentive and fun loving and I am so happy I booked this place for our party. All of my friends had the best time and can’t stop talking about how we want to come back!

We loved staying at Claire and Myke’s hipcamp. There was wood for a fire, cool trails on their property that led to a stream, and good energy all around! The road to the property was pretty rough so be prepared for that (: I definitely recommend though!

The land is very beautiful and the cabin is quite cozy! The hosts and very kind, helpful and prompt. They have 5 dogs and they are so sweet and great company! They stayed with us for 2 days except when in the cabin. It is a great comfort, being a mom of girls in the woods. We love them, the goats, the land and the cabin. Can't wait to explore more when it gets warmer.
