More of a walk in site than I realized but lovely and remote. Tent pads are very far apart.

We had an excellent stay at Room with a View! I really liked that it was a bit off the beaten path, and it felt like we had so much land to ourselves. Super cool to hear a wolf pack howling in unison in the early morning. Close to some nice hikes, would stay again.

Beautiful place.... timed it just perfectly with orange and red trees to boot! Couple of notes....
- quick little 100 yard hike in.... super easy to unload a car in a few trips
- the platform would be perfect for about a 6x6 tent..... but our 7-9 was too big, with that being said the other sites accommodated a bigger tent perfectly
- appreciated the firewood and put!
- directions were spot on

What a great spot! A quiet, out of the way place to rest and take in the North Shore. Close to several cool state parks, very private, and easy to find!

This location is beautiful- you're really tucked back in the woods and it feels secluded. There is a road with quick access to the coast/Temperance River SP in one direction and George Crosby Manitou SP in the other. However, since it is close to a road there was car noise at night (more than expected for how remote it feels). We had one single and one double backpacking tent and camped at site #2 as site #1 is quite uneven and small. Because you have to park down the road and hike in, we ate breakfast/dinner at the car so we wouldn't have to carry our food and gear back/forth and potentially risk leaving something that could attract bears. This worked well for us! But if you are planning to eat your meals backpacking style, there are plenty of trees suitable for a bear hang. Overall, happy with our stay!

We stayed at Ellis camp during a hiking trip at Temperance River. It was the perfect spot to return to and set up camp for a quick nights stay. Easy to find and the walk in was short enough that carrying our stuff in was a breeze. Beautiful views from the site, and although there aren’t many hiking trails immediately near the site, the availability of so many great state parks near by more than makes up for this. Definitely book this stay if you want a rural but accessible camp site!

Beautiful, quiet, remote location. Peaceful among the dense trees. Lovely views. Fire pit provided. Rustic bathroom (aka cat hole) so be ready for that. Best to arrive in the daylight.

Staying at Elli's place was great! The view and set up on the platform were really amazing. The trail was a bit overgrown, but nothing too terrible. Keep your eyes peeled for the signs as they're not right on the side of the road as I thought they would be, but they're not too difficult to spot. Dry firewood was available after it rained which was awesome. We heard some wolves howling in the distance at night. Overall a great spot and unique experience.

This site has a great location! Secluded, but not difficult to access! The directions to the site are easy to follow & it was a great location for parking! Trail to the site is easy to navigate!

What a fun and adventurous stay! Super cool place, loved checking out George Crosby state park on the way home. Little bit of a walk to the site, definitely not car camping. Definitely would be great for a group! Bring bug spray!!! Would go back again

Easy directions and signage! No maps at the trailhead. It’s clear that tent platform #1 is most used and the other sites and trails are still being worn down, as they are still overgrown with knee high grass. Lining the trails with birch logs like they have for tent platform #1 would help out defining those trails as well! Clean campsite and the platform itself was built well. Pro tip: there are paracord ropes underneath the platform so you can tie off your tents. This helps with the wind factor and keeping your tent secure. Not sure if this is right under a flight path but I heard airplanes all night. Not sure if it was a fluke or if it’s a regular thing. That might deter some campers. Other than that, a great experience!

Beautiful spot! Great view from site and surrounding area. We heard the wolves at night as well! Close proximity to other great parks. Be prepared for mosquitos. We had a great long weekend and will be back.

Had a great stay here! I liked how it was more secluded from the tourist areas along the north shore! Just wanted to add that there is water available at the George state park close to the campsite so I would recommend getting water there!

Overall the stay was great! The roadway was a bit busier than expected but we were staying the couple days before deer hunting season so much of the traffic was likely hunters. It would be nice to eventually develop a place to park on the property instead of down the side road. Our only other suggestion would be a trail connecting the fire pit area and the other tent sites. Our tent was too large for the spots near the firepit and it is a bit of a hike on the designated trail, especially late in the season when it gets dark early. We found the areas are actually quite close there is just no trail. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a North Shore rustic experience!

Super secluded and very rustic with a breathtaking view. The tent pad was too small for our tent but would work for a single or double. The tent pad was a little unsteady but in good condition. The price was good for the site since you get 4 different pads to put your tent. Tent pad 2 worked well for our 8 person tent but the downside was that it was a hike to get to the for pit to cook our supper. Wish there would have been a fire pit at each tent pad. Loved that there was fire wood provided and Ellie was very responsive to our questions about the tent pad and parking. This would be a fun site to book for a large group especially since there was a lot of wildlife around us.

Wonderful stay at a room with a view. Loved how private the space was and will be back with friends to use all of the amazing tent sites. The view of Lake Superior was a fun surprise for such a wooded location & the trail maintenance was great. Thanks for the stay!

I really enjoyed this campsite. Interesting layout with the rock bed and for me being into backpacking, but having an incredibly busy work schedule. This was the perfect getaway of meeting in the middle. We had a bear pop out of the woods about a 1/2 mile from the campsite entrance and heard Wolves every night! It was great!!! (Absolutely no food left out!) love that it’s dog friendly, my German Shepherd had a blast! And my blind blue healer could navigate along the Steep rock bed. As long as you’re renting it out I will definitely be back! Thank you for making this available and providing firewood.

This is a neat spot. The pictures are accurate- it’s pretty thick in there and the platform is kinda small. My 3 person tent had a little bit over the edge. The view is great. The walk to parking wasn’t as bad as I expected.

Awesome site! Something way different than what you'd get at a campground (in a positive way). I even heard a wolf pack howling in the middle of the night.
Two things to be aware of but are not necessarily negatives/knocks on the site:
1. If you aren't super adept at building fires like me, think about bringing in your own wood. I had some difficulty getting the provided wood to ignite since some of it was wet.
2. Be prepared for mosquitoes!

Trails were a little overgrown and there was no dry firewood. It was not apparent where tent pads 2&3 were supposed to be. Otherwise a cool site to camp and hangout for the weekend.

Very private campground and a very nice view. Wasn’t as much hiking or sightseeing as I was expecting. (But did have some rain keep me in so that may have been the problem). But overall had a good stay!

I really enjoyed staying here, if you want deep woods or somewhere extremely secluded this is it, however there are a pack of wolves we heard all day long very close by so beware, and tent pads 2-3 are completely not accessible because the trail is so over grown you can’t see where it goes, the firewood provided was also wet and not useable. I would recommend this because the area is so stunning and it’s so secluded, also if you’re going to bring a tent make sure to bring really cushiony bedding because if not sleeping on that wood plank will hurt! Over all decent spot.

This campsite was a great first Hipcamp experience! We had a fun time and loved the view from the platform. A small problem we ran into was a shortage of firewood at the site. We didn’t have anything with us to cut down our own and most of the wood on the ground was wet, so we had to take a short trip out in the morning to get some. Not a huge problem, just be prepared in case there is not a stack of wood ready for you! The campsite is pretty secluded, but you can hear cars on the roads nearby every now and then. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Thank you Eli!
