Pond Valley is two miles from Summersville Lake for boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, and the Gauley River whitewater. Drive to the newest National Park at New River Gorge and everything it has to offer. Campfire: In provided location, firewood provided. State law prohibits bringing firewood across state lines. Bathroom facilities: Toilet in bunkhouse, soap and water for handwashing, cleaned daily. Garden hose. Trash bag may be dropped in the bin on your way out. Dump site nearby at Battle Run only $5.

Site 2 - Pond Valley Camping

Julie’s land was amazing. I got to see deers, groundhogs, rabbits, and lightning bugs. It was very quiet and relaxing. Julie also went above and beyond as a host. It was raining when I first arrived, so she offered I sit on the porch with her. Here, we were able to talk about an array of things, as she pointed out different plants and animals on the land. She offered me additional accommodation options too, in case the rain kept through the night. Once it was time for me to set up, she showed me the best area and also made sure I had everything needed. She even pointed out the best places to watch the sunrise and sunset. Originally, I was supposed to stay for two nights, but unfortunately my tent broke (I believe from a fan I had hanging in the top) and prompted me to head home early. Julie refunded the extra night, with no expectation or mention of doing so. I can’t recommend this place enough, and I hope to be back soon!

Beautiful, peaceful, idyllic farm setting with rolling pastures, morning mist, sunsets, etc. Gracious and welcoming hosts. Ideally located for access to Gauley River. Definitely recommend.

Very beautiful land and Julie was a wonderful host!!! The stargazing was amazing and it was much more quite and secluded then other camp sites!! We look forward to going back!
