Nazario was an excellent host. His backyard offers a huge amount of space, giving campers plenty of options for where to set up. The property has access to water and provides a nice view of the lake.
Perfectly situated to do everything you'd want to do in Shenandoah Valley - just off the 211/340. It is in town, but its on a creek, so I saw otters, herons, falcons, and so many song birds. First time on my 3 month trip I had strong connectivity to meet with clients and get done work done. It is in town, so there's the noise that comes with town, but its a small town so the noise doesn't run late. I felt safe enough to sleep with the doors open to my van. I've never done that before. Nazario is a great host- super friendly, very helpful, and kind. He even pulled my tent out of the creek when the wind pulled it out of its stakes and sent it flying! And Lilly is the sweetest dog ever. A gentle giant.

LOVED camping here especially hanging out and petting Ms. Lily herself and her cat friends <3 ! It was super close to the caverns and Main St in Luray. You can see people fishing in the creek! Also, Nazario was super nice and lent us a shovel for the restroom situation.
This place was super easy to find, almost right in the heart of downtown Luray, but still peaceful along the creek. We enjoyed our stay and Nazario was friendly. He checked us in and that was about it. We had rule of the backyard and took a spot down by the creek. Our dogs absolutely loved it! We walked to Saga Meadery and enjoyed some drinks. Waking up in the morning we just drove 2 mins to the nearest coffee shop for a coffee and the bathroom. It was great!

Nice place, the owner was very friendly. Definitely recommended..
Overall a nice spot near the water in town of Luray, and nice host. Not very private though, spot is located to the back of their yard with a public park across overlooking the other side of the water. Thought we pulled up to the wrong address at first, not what we expected, but still enjoyed ourselves.

Great camping spot! Less secluded than I thought but he was super nice and helpful and responded right away! Right on the water and lots of fire wood available!
Nazario met us on arrival and ensured we were satisfied and assisted us wonderfully. We would stay there again. The creek was nice and has big fish to be caught. The evening train in the distance was a nice touch.

Fiancé dropped her ring in then dark and he helped find it with a rake.
Nazario’s property is awesome and extremely convenient if you are going to Shenandoah NP, it’s about ten minutes from the park. The site is located in Luray, as small town with lots of good food options. Nazario lives in a residential neighborhood, but has a big piece of land with plenty of places to pitch a tent. We camped behind the play set in some trees with lots of privacy. There is a big creek that runs behind the property and you have plenty of private access. There is tons of wood to use and a portable fire pit that was perfect. There is a road across the creek but it was not too loud at all. Our dog loved running around the property and swimming in the creek. Nazario was very, very nice and a great host. I highly recommend this site to anyone that wants to camp right outside the park. We will be back!!

I had a change of plans and didn't end up staying at Nazario's hipcamp. So not much to review besides Nazario was quick with his responses. I would like to try again if I'm in the area

Overall, was a good place to sleep, host was super friendly. Was overpriced at $50 in my opinion. Lots of road noise.
Perk - very close to thorton gap entrance of Shenandoah national park. Which is why we ended up here as we weren’t able to get a site in the park.
