Convenient location. The host is receptive and present. The showers and bathrooms are clean. The shower rooms are honestly the nicest I’ve had at a campsite, by a good amount. They have a nice sink, useful for washing dishes. If I camp outside of Big Bend again, I will camp here.

This is the perfect weekend site for campers looking to explore Big Bend and the surrounding area. We were in Site 1 and it was incredibly spacious. We have a 21ft travel travel and Tundra. We loved the shade shelters and electric and water hook up’s. There are also nice toilets and showers. The owner is super nice and helpful!

This spot is perfect for acclimating before hiking in big bend! The showers are absolutely perfect! I’m tall and they are still well over my head!! Super quiet and dark!!! Great sunsets and sunrises!!! I will be back when I hit the park again!!! Well done Retief!!!

Everything was perfect! Gorgeous views with nice shade and super close to Big Bend. The bathrooms were clean and well kept and extra firewood and stakes were on-site. The host is super sweet and can give lots of information about the area. His dog is named Tuesday and is the cutest thing. Already planning our next trip!

A very nice spot just off the highway. The facilities are really good and clean with one of the best showers for a camp site. Lots of birds at the feeders and amazing views of the night sky. Would absolutely return.

Beautiful campgrounds that are well laid out right outside of Big Bend's western entrance. The host was very knowledgeable about the area and friendly! Had a great time and are already trying to plan the next trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed camping in Retief’s land. The campsite offered breathtaking views of the mountains, clean restrooms and showers, a peaceful atmosphere, and a convenient location near Terlingua and the entrance to Big Bend.

This place has a great shower and bathroom facility, but can be a bit confusing to find it first. You basically just pull off the side of the main road onto a dirt path, there's a very small sign indicating Willow Creek camping. There is no check in or out process, you literally just pull up to the site you rented and set up.
There are 2 toilets and 2 shower rooms, as well as a community sink for dishwashing. If this place was fully booked it would likely be difficult to share the facilities with a lot of other campers. The sites themselves are close quarters so don't expect a quiet peaceful experience if you have neighbors!
We booked the site with the shade cover which was a good call. This place just bakes in the dessert heat, high wind gusts make it difficult to set up and persisted into the night making it hard to sleep. Also, this is near a town so you will not be able to see the Milky Way and stars as well as being in big bend park itself, so if your purpose for camping in this area is stargazing, maybe find a different more rural site.
All in all, this campground has nice bathroom facilities and is close enough to civilization that you will be able to get cell reception. The gas station down the road is pretty sad, they don't have ice or water and most everything is "out of order", do not rely on anything but yourself and what you bring. Gas is also very expensive, fill up in Albine or whatever town you come to before you get close to this area.

Willow Creek Camping was a great site, very convenient to Big Bend. We stayed at Site 5 which had a nice area to pitch our tent, a picnic table, a TT-30 outlet, and access to way better than expected toilet/ sink / shower. Looking forward to returning when the weather is cool again!

I really liked Willow Creek. The sites are large with some good space between sites for privacy. The central structure with flush toilets, hot showers, and dish sink is awesome. It's clean and a welcome luxury after a day in the desert. Reteif and Jay are friendly and gave me some good hiking suggestions. I'll definitely camp here again.
