Great Little Campsite on the Coast

This was my first ever experience with a Hipcamp and was very pleased with the experience. The pictures of this location really do not do it justice and I will upload my own to hopefully give a better, more current images of the location.
The host has definitely taken the time and effort to make their 7 sites presentable and hospitable for Hipcampers. Sites are clean, clearly marked and a fresh layer of chipped mulch has been laid throughout the sites. The compost toilet is built in a nice privacy area and is clean (didn't use it).
My only negatives was that it was a little difficult to get into. I DO NOT BLAME the host for this, but the Hipcamp app's directions had me trying to enter the site through the adjacent neighborhood just before the host's property instead of off of US 421 just before the traffic light. Just be sure if you go here that you enter from the highway and not the neighborhood. The other adjacent property has been cleared out for development (again, not the host's fault) but if you're looking for a secluded hideaway that might not be the case for much longer due to progress. Those are just minor nitpicks to me though, neither of which again blame the hosts for.
All in all if you are looking to visit Carolina Beach/Cure Beach/Fort Fisher/Wilmington this would be a good choice for anyone looking for a little solitude away from the busy commercial alternatives. I was happy with my first Hipcamp and would happily come here again!

There was access to water and plenty of space for 1 group. Additionally, the land was very close to the beach and stores which was nice. Very clean area and would highly recommend to stay!

Great hosts! Very helpful with responding and pointing out where to go. Was such a pleasant surprise to camp there! I unfortunately had to leave a little sooner than anticipates. However I will definitely be coming back! Thanks for an amazing stay!

brandy was super chill. He explained everything pretty well and he even helped us out with some directions. He recommended us a good spot to set up at. Overall, just very helpful The location was super nice too. It’s really pretty out. We were out here for three days. The shower worked fine and we had a lot of fun.

Primitive camping with some extras!

This was the perfect location, exactly as advertised, for my last minute need to be near Carolina Beach. The other campgrounds were completely booked.
The site had everything needed for primitive camping.
Earlier reviews have expressed negative opinions and while there are some old wooden items scattered about, this did not affect our use of the site.
A few pointers for future renters may be helpful:
1. Water from the hose has some iron flavor, not surprising at the beach. This was perfectly adequate for showering, etc. We used bottled water for drinking.
2. Mosquitos were plentiful as expected with low country summer camping. Bring bug repellent!
3. Road noise was present, but not bothersome.

The worst campsite ever—this is a SCAN. Watch out if you’re planning to spend the night. They don’t make any effort to make this place a place that you can enjoy. Trash everywhere; I don’t mind the toilet or the “shower” but lease make look nicer. I call this a nice scan; because you’re not getting your money back even if you don't spend the night. We did the check-in, but after looking around, we just left…

I really enjoyed my weekend stay at Brandy's! It was very quiet, and my dog Sadie was able roam around the space. When a friend of ours came by for an unexpected short visit, they were welcomed as well. I also appreciated the water and electrical amenities that were provided here too :) The site is a little difficult to find off the main road, but the separate instructions Brandy gives brings you straight to the site no problem. All in all, very kind people and I would recommend staying here for those looking to enjoy their time at the beach while being able to come back in the evening for a campfire in the woods. Lovely place. Would love to come again!

Close drive to the beach and relatively private single campsite, especially for a populated area like carolina beach . Site offers both power and a cold water shower. Compost toilet was very clean. Can't ask for much more. Hosts were very nice. Thanks guys

Great experience, wood recommend. Wish we could’ve met tHe ReAL brandy. Enjoyed the slug on the toilet seat. Made the bathroom experience both more physically comfortable and less emotionally lonesome. Wet trip.

Great spot with helpful hosts! Loved the makeshift shower and motion-activated lights. If you have one, bring a hatchet to split wood for the fire and grill!

The host was very friendly and communicated well. The location was great only being a few minutes from the beach. The camping area as a whole was pretty run down. Multiple piles of junk or old debris litter the camp area. The bathroom consists of a few tarps strung up that blow in the wind with a five gallon bucket on top of a pallet. We consistently stay at hipcamps and sadly this is the the least effort we have ever seen put into a camping area.

Everything you need for 1 night

We had everything we needed for one night after coming into town late. The property is quite primitative, tucked back in a wooded area with lots of privacy. We had a shower, compost toilet, and fire ring. There was a lot of space, enough for a large tent, but we slept in the car. The best part was... it was just us! We brought our dog and she had plenty of room to play and run around. Even though the property is tucked back, highway traffic was audible, so don't forget to bring ear plugs!

The site is in a convenient location, and covers the basics if you just need a place to stay on your way through, but not the most pleasant camping experience itself. On the upside, sites are level and well cleared and there are fire pits and some wood provided. On the downside, it is directly off a very busy and loud road, the composting toilet is a bucket with a hole cut in the bottom that is in pretty full view of the campsites and the neighbor’s houses. Pack your own toilet paper and drinking water.

Woods near the beach

This was a sweet oasis right in the midst of Carolina Beach bedlam. It’s rustic while being close to the action. Toilet and shower are elegantly primitive. There were woodpiles ready for campfires in the fire rings.We enjoyed meeting Brandy, who was most accommodating.

It was exactly what we needed! the campsite had a bench, a fire pit, a shower, and a compost toilet! It was about 10 mins from the nearest beach access at Carolina beach. Enjoyed our time here!

Good location, easy to access and easy to find.
Camp sites are cleared out well. However, there is an abundance of poison plants near and around the campsites. As long as you steer clear of them it’s fine.
