Ideal semi-glamping experience
Wow, what a beautiful, unique, fun, relaxing experience!! I didn't expect the property to be so vast, with such accommodating hosts & friendly fellow campers. We loved our peaceful little campsite tucked into a quiet corner near the very clean outdoor kitchen, bathrooms, and showers. A short walk up the hill leads you to the lovely pool, and if you continue up you'll find their Western-themed bar. On a saturday night, lots of people were hanging out and we made some friends. But if that's not your vibe, it's totally silent back down the hill at the campsites. Excited to come back soon!!

Perfect to Camp with kids
We love this place, even that we got there in the wrong weekend of Labor Day was rainy and extra windy omg we were not expecting that but we trying to make the best of it. First I will say everyone was really friendly, and place was clean bathrooms, Kitchen everything was great. Omg views was great when the weather clear we were able to go for a Hike that the owners give us instructions and was perfect we got to she great views up up in the mountains. My 2 years old baby girl she enjoy the goats, new born baby kitties and the dogs she had fun with the animals and also she enjoy the hike was a great time there we for sure recommend this place.

This is a unique camping experience in a beautiful location. The people were all very nice and friendly. The only real downsides were that the campsites seemed unnecessarily close to each other, and we were hoping for a little more privacy. And this is in no way the fault of the owners, but there are SO many flies buzzing there during the day that it bordered on unbearable. It got much better at night. The camp has a "no rules" policy, which I appreciate, but it also meant there was no real quiet-time, and people were socializing late into the night. The vibe was good, but it's probably not for everyone.

Cool place, deceptive listing
The location is beautiful, but I would say the listing is far from accurate. Secluded camping on a ranch was really picking a nook among a junkyard full of abandoned rvs and cars. There is a house with a kitchen and bathroom, but it is just the owner’s residence (and not the cleanest). There are giant German Shepards that follow you all over the ranch. My partner and I enjoyed our stay, but I feel the listing is definitely deceptive. Be advised: you will not be in nature, per say, though the mountains are very beautiful. You will be camping among rusting rvs and cars, some of which people seem to be living in. The bathroom is definitely usable, so if you’re not picky about cleanliness you will be fine. If you accept this place for what it is, it’s a good time! I just would have liked to know what I was getting in to when I booked it.

12/10 would recommend!
Once we arrived we could tell right off the bat this was a hidden gem not too far away from LA! The hosts were loving people and you can tell right away the positive energy from the campsite. We highly recommend coming to this place if you enjoy nature, hiking and don’t want to drive that far to disconnect for a little.

Magical, Hidden Gem!
Lost Valley Tent Camp was memorable! I know some of the reviews were negative, mostly about aesthetics. My review comes from the lens of my children, and Lost Valley Camp was magical! We had a spot next to a running creek and the children had so much fun splashing and exploring, they even caught a toad! There was a magical fort near the creek that the children delighted in. Our hosts were welcoming and we felt at home. The children had access to battery four-wheelers, hammocks, three darling and protective dogs to play with, baby kittens to love on, trails to hike on, strangers to make friends with, space for autonomy, free run of the property but still protected and safe, gorgeous views, millions of stars, a saloon complete with a pool table, fire pit, and other games. This gem gave my children to be creative and occupied outside the entire trip, and they did not care one tiny bit if there were a few campers scattered here and there, they were just more opportunities to explore and use their imaginations. Mom, for the record, shared in my children's delight and I am grateful for the amazing memories we will all carry with us.

The hosts were flexible with their accommodations and their amenities. I did enjoy the amenities and accessibility to water and restrooms and various locations to camp.
If you’d like more of a secluded spot you can find some, but if you want a real camping experience and to rely on your own resources then this is not your place. There were various trailers around, some little cabins and other items on the property. If you don’t care about that this is a good spot regardless. Just my honest review and I had a great experience for a 1 night 2 day weekend trip.

Great vibes at the ranch! Hosts were so sweet and accommodating and theres plenty to do on the land. Awesome bar area with fire pit (free wood!), pool table, foosball, and more. Got to pet the goats and the dogs are super friendly. Heard theres also a great hike on the land around the ridge, would've loved to do that with more time. Good star viewing as well. Would definitely recommend!

Under current management I would not recommend staying here. These people are sweet and welcoming but have no idea how to run a camp site. I felt like I was camping in a squatters camp with the amount of trash, abounded vehicles, and weird unusable construction equipment littered throughout the site. I emphasize the word site and not ranch cause this is not a ranch it's a dirt pit. There are no trees there only dry dieing bushes that will be tumble weeds soon. The "communal" center they said we could cook and shower in was unsanitary. There where ferrel cats walking around the counters eating the same food they where trying to serve us.......no thank you please. Stuff was growing in jugs and when I asked what it was they said we have been meaning to throw that out......these jugs where leaking all over the counters their spiled and rotten food juice. It smelt like moldy rotten food in the kitchen. There turned out to be people sleeping on the kitchen floor of this communal area. Also the showered where disgusting. We didn't even try to use the showers cause they where covered in cat pee and poop that we had to inform them of. Also the "trail" they claim on their property is a legitimate safety issue. The state needs to investigate it cause these people cut down barbed wire and put up wooden signs trying to make this a thing......it's unstable sheet rock don't chance on "hiking it". These people are sweet but put people who stay on their property in danger. SHUT THEM DOWN!

BEAUTIFUL PLACE AND GREAT HOSTS!
I had an amazing time staying at Lonesome ranch, I felt anything but lonely because my girlfriend and I were treated with so much hospitality and love. Saskia and Tony are such warm compassionate people, they were hands down the nicest hosts I have ever had. We forgot a few things for our trip and they were more than happy to lend us items to help us out. At one point, I wasn’t allowed to ask permission anymore, I was told to treat the place like it was my house. Love that! It literally felt like I was staying at a close friend's or family member's property and I was free to use the kitchen or restroom or anything if I pleased.
The ranch is beautiful and has many places for lodging such as yurts, small cabins, dispersed tent camping, and beautifully refurbished campers. There are a lot of beautiful hiking trails around the ranch that are connected to Angeles Forrest. There is a community clubhouse and a beautifully decorated bar that is open all day for anyone. Even the lodgers are very friendly. Not only is there great scenery, but the ranch has very good music and art vibes, which is great for inspiration.
I plan on returning indefinitely. I feel like this place is going to explode in popularity, and I would like to soak up as much of this place as I can before it becomes too hard to reserve a stay. I look forward to the future pool, outdoor theater, music stage/waterfall, and recording studio. Highly recommended for everyone, especially artists and musicians.

Lonesome valley ranch and artfarm from a van life perspective has a wonderful vision that isn’t quite ready for prime time. Our spot in the “campsite area” had about 6 inches of dust everywhere so trying to level was difficult. But we got it done. There are many projects in the works and we can see the vision. Where we were able to level our sprinter had some low trees that were just low enough that during the crazy winds the branches rub the top of your rig.
Pros:
1. they have starlink internet and it worked from our campsite.
2. Tony greeted us and gave us the lay of the land. The coordinates were wrong but they live at the end the road so keep going.
3. We hiked up the hill and one of his dogs “japko” gave us a tour up to the top.
4. Super close to Los Angeles and a great place to get out of town.
Cons:
1. lots of projects / campers that were half completed. Like many ranches old decaying campers around. Wood piles everywhere.
2. Rv information in the post said the surface type would be grass and we ended up in the dust bowl. The surface wasn’t level and needed blocks to get level.
3. They did have two dogs running around and one looked really aggressive and we slowly walked away from him.
4. The pictures in the Hipcamp ad aren’t all from this ranch. I believe they are trying to give you an idea of the vision.

Read this before you book...
The hosts are great. Bodhi is well versed in travel and a natural host. But....
They are in the beginning stages of the what they envision the place to be, however it is far from that.
The Red Barn cabin is beautiful though. It is nice and comfy. The land it sits on is not conducive to doing much. The hiking is very limited and there is not much else to do activity-wise. Maybe the dream will come to fruition, but until then, I wouldn't recommend it.

Disappointed
Barn is as pictured (super great). Hosts are kind and very accommodating. Great, healthy food prepared for us. But…Property is not as described. Lots of piles of junk, broken glass, lots of broken down trailers/cars/campers, boards, broken furniture, etc. Not at all pleasant to have as a view. The hikes were hugely disappointing. The outhouse hasn’t been cleaned/wiped down or emptied in at least months or longer. The “clubhouse” is actually their private home with a bathroom in the house to shower in (you share this with the residents of the property and other campers). One occupant on the property was rude and has a pit bull that is unmanageable and made it uncomfortable for us and our two dogs. Sadly, we left a night early. Wasn’t a good fit for us but may be for others. Again, the hosts are fantastic and the actual barn was great.
