Our property is just minutes from Mendocino's beaches, parks and sweet town, yet private and quiet as it is surrounded by 50,000 acre state forest with world class hiking and biking trails directly accessed from our place. Around the giant redwoods and meadows we have sprinkled in the most amazing little cabins, camp sites and deluxe bath house. We have a great outdoor camp kitchen available for your use. The redwood tree shower must not be missed! This is a very special experience for us to share with you. We are a family of campers. We agree, there's nothing better than a rest in a hammock following a hike or a beach day and a night under the stars without the constant dinging of cell and internet! Guests love staying here: "Such a lovely getaway! Our family of four and little dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heartwood. The cabins are great, with comfortable (warm) beds, very clean and cozy. It’s well worth the visit even in the winter! Really appreciated being outdoors surrounded by Redwoods, hiking the trails around the property, the modern bathrooms with hot showers, and the indoor sitting area to make coffee in the mornings. This site is flat and easily accessible with a beautiful hand made redwood picnic table and dappled sunlight. You have access to all of the Heartwood facilities including our luxurious bathrooms, the common room and the outdoor camp kitchen. The redwood tree shower is also available for your use. You don't want to miss it! This site is offset from the cabins, but has visibility to the larger grounds. This site can hold up to 4 people and one vehicle. (Additional vehicle if added on can park in the main parking area which is nearby). Please make sure to add your total headcount to your booking. A Kid friendly getaway

Redwood Camp Site

We had a great time on our first visit! Tucked away amongst the redwoods our kids 6yo/8yo had so much fun on the gnome trail. The outdoor kitchen was so fun to use as we cooked dinners and met fellow campers around the fire in the evening. We look forward to visiting again.

What Khamoor and Tim have built is truly one of the most special places that I have ever been to. My family (three kids under 10, my wife, and I) stayed for one night at one of the tent sites. The sites are beautiful, and incredibly well maintained with a gorgeous picnic table at each site. We peaked inside the cabins, and they’re also tastefully and beautifully decorated. The communal space is what it is all about here, though. A wonderful outdoor kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, plates, bowls, cutlery etc., There is a fridge and stove to use, as well as a large bear box to keep food safe in. The fire pit is accesible to all, and there are large live edge tables to share meals with other campers. In such a short amount of time, it already starts to feel like a community. The shower is a dream - it’s huge, gorgeous, and an incredibly unique experience. The bathrooms are well maintained as well, and if showering outside isn’t your thing (please, try!), there is an indoor shower as well. I felt secure with my kids running around, as the site is tucked well away from any busy roads. If we weren’t married already, I would do anything to get married here (there was a wedding being setup.. SO fancy shmancy!), Khamoor has thought every detail of this place through. We cannot wait to go back and stay longer, and hopefully bring some friends along next time as well. We WILL be back, thank you SO much for this experience.

We've camped here three times now in the span 3 months. We loved it so much we had to come back for seconds and thirds! The owners are so lovely and kind, it's clear they put their heart into building up and caring for the Heartwood. Oak campsite has the most privacy of the three but all are lovely. Watch out for mosquitos in the warmer months!

Beautiful spot! We had a lovely time. Owners Khamoor and Tim are super lovely people as well. There is soap in the shower for washing your body, but bring shampoo/conditioner. It’s a communal fire pit near the camp kitchen, which we had not experienced before. We were used to having our own fire pit at campgrounds but it ended up being super awesome because we made friends with the two other families there and our children played together and we shared the fire and did smores together. We never had an experience like that at a campground! It gets very misty out there so the tables will probably be wet when you wake up in the morning so maybe bring a towel to dry stuff off. The no WiFi and hardly any cell service was good for us too. We went on the Skunk Train which was great too. Princess Seafood in the Harbor is super fresh seafood. The site is 10 minutes from the village of Mendocino. We will be back. Very kid friendly, lots of room for them to run around and be free. Thank you Khamoor and Tim!

Pitching Our First Tent in the USA

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing experience at this campsite! This was our first time camping in the USA, and it exceeded our expectations. The campground is incredibly clean, well-maintained, and so peaceful that it makes you want to stay longer and camp more often. The location is beautiful and close to nature, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The owners are very thoughtful and has clearly considered everything a camper might need. The facilities and amenities made our first camping experience comfortable and memorable. We will definitely be inviting our friends to visit, and we look forward to coming back again in the future. Magical Camping Oasis

Our family found our new favorite spot! The cabins are so darling, and the grounds are gorgeous. Every detail is so thoughtful. The bathrooms are so clean, and the common kitchen makes camping meals so easy and fun. Even the fire pit was set up for us each night! It was the best location for all of our Mendocino adventures, and such a magical place to return in the evenings. We can not wait to come back!!!

What an amazing and rejuvenating stay was had camping at Heartwood. Everything was amazing from the start to our end of trip. Very straight forward and easy directions coming to the grounds. Our camping grounds had enough room and was private enough away from the other campsites yet close to all the amenities- bathrooms, kitchen and communal fire pit. The cleanliness was superb on the grounds and the hosts were very kind and welcoming especially the main host, Lola (the dog) she was sweet enough to allow belly rubs and play fetch with me as well. 😃 The redwood shower was a bonus treat- waking up to the magic of the shower was a true reset and made me feel like a Fairy every start of my day. Heehee Thank you and I will be returning in the near future. Tell Lola I said hi.

The property is delightful! We stayed in one of the cabin/tents: the bed was very comfortable and we appreciated the heated blankets and small floor heater provided. The facilities were close by and very clean and nicely designed. And the redwood shower was awesome. Everything you could possibly need for cooking is provided in the outdoor kitchen. It's clear that the property is a labor of love and very well maintained.

This campsite is worth it just for the shower built out of the redwood tree! The campsite is SO well done and if you're a new tent camper this is the PERFECT spot to give it a go. Great well kept bathrooms with flushable toilets, so luxe!!! Group camp kitchen and fire. This means no fire cooking at your site which was a bit of a bummer for us but we grilled at the group kitchen and it was easy. Group camp fire meant they provided all the firewood and even provided tongs for roasting marshmellows. okay but the shower, the shower is amazing I felt like a little keebler elf in the innards of a redwood. You will not regret booking here, worth every cent.

This place is awesome! This was my first time staying at a hip camp and the amenities and layout of the campsite and entire area were just wonderful! It was great to meet the host and the other campers were super nice. Loved being able to sit around the communal fire pit and talk with other people and meet others. The outdoor kitchen was great! overall a fun and fabulous experience

We had a fantastic time being surrounded by redwood on this beautiful property! The amenities are better than a hotel. There is a full kitchen, heated bathrooms, fire pit and large patio but the best feature is definitely the redwood tree shower! It is so unique and beautifully designed. The owners are very friendly and it was so quiet. The proximity to town is very convenient. It was also great to be able to bring our dogs! We will definitely return.

We had such a lovely two-night stay at Heartwood Mendocino; it's so near to town, but wonderfully ensconced in a woodsy, peaceful setting. The outdoor kitchen and bathhouse are well-thought out and very useful, as is the well-stocked fire pit. The redwood shower is wonderful! We would definitely return.

A special gem in Mendocino

This place is a true gem!!! Clean, beautiful, and very organized. I especially loved the thoughtful things about this place like a premade fire, blankets near the fireplace, flowers, wood, and a beautiful redwood tree shower with hot water. We came to Mendocino to enjoy a trail run along the coast and paddle board the river, very glad we discovered this spot. We can’t wait to return!

Surprisingly beautiful and peaceful spot. The owners have thought out and provided everything a camper (or glamper) could need. Just wish the county could fix the last stretch of road before the entrance. I hope to make it back soon with friends for a longer stay!

Heartwood Mendocino is the most adorable glamping spot I’ve ever been to. It is comfy, clean, has fantastic amenities, and is in a fantastic location close to trails but also about 10 min from town. . The redwood tree shower really is worth all the hype! I appreciated the heated mattresses on the beds and the well-stocked kitchen for cooking meals.

This is our second stay at Heartwood. We love it here. They’ve added some beautiful tiles to the outdoor kitchen. We love the attention to details. And being one with nature and the banana slugs! Brought our son and daughter this time. They enjoyed the outdoor shower and really loved the communal fire pit! Also, they felt very bougie with the bathrooms! It rained while we were here and appreciated the indoor hangout room. Highly recommend! Will be back!

We had a wonderful time at this campsite and cannot recommend it highly enough! It is immediately clear that the hosts have built and nurtured this property with a tremendous amount of love. Every corner of the site feels intentional, and the entire grounds are immaculately maintained. The amenities exceeded our expectations for an outdoor stay: Sparkling Clean Bathrooms: Truly some of the cleanest facilities we’ve encountered while camping. Convenient Outdoor Kitchen: Having access to a functional kitchen area and a fridge made meal prep incredibly easy and kept our supplies fresh. Beyond the setup, the host was incredibly sweet. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and shared fascinating details about potential wildlife sightings in the area, which added an extra layer of excitement to our trip. If you are looking for a peaceful, well-cared-for spot with thoughtful touches, this is it. We had a great experience and would definitely return!

Magical Stay at Heartwood Mendicino

Heartwood Mendicino is a magical place that I would highly recommend! The way it is setup allows you to just hang in your camping space and enjoy the woods, or take advantage of the well setup shared outdoor kitchen, or meet new friends around the shared campfire. The outdoor shower is simply stunning and Khamoor was also amazing, responding to my sometimes silly/newbie questions quickly and completely and making sure everything was perfect when we got there. Maybe the best thing I can say is that my partner, who is not a fan of camping, loved it too.

Heartwood Mendocino was a dream! what a slice of heaven. we were so impressed by all the details and thoughtful considerations. It was raining a lot of our time here and we still had such an amazing time. Khamoor had amazing communication prior to the visit to work out all the details (i had a few questions and needed to add another night). Very grateful and will absolutely be back!
