Overall, it’s a nice camp for long drive to take a break. Jim is nice to welcome us and navigate us to the site. The site floor is pretty even, but only bother us is the tree with lower brunch touched the roof of trailer, that need to be removed. The camp has big space to walk around if you have dog, that’s a good camp for you

Perfect place to camp after a busy day at the volcanic national park! Nice tents sites with everything you need close by! Showers were very nice. Would recommend!

I had a great time in the cabin. Perfect spot as I broke up my travels from Oregon to California and back. Cozy, quiet and clean! Will definitely come back if I do this type of drive again.

We really liked staying here, the host was amazing and opened the little store for us so we could get ice, they have very clean bathrooms with showers which we definitely needed after hiking around in the caves all day. We will definitely be coming back 🙂

We booked this very last minute. Tent sites were great! Bathroom was great. We would have stayed here on our way back what it been on the way.

Historic Northern CA Cabin #7
We didn’t get to stay as long as we would have liked because we were traveling to see family, but our cabin was clean and spacious. The campground was quiet and well maintained. Pam was kind enough to accommodate our late arrival and was very responsive by messaging. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a fledgling camp area and it has potential. The owners were very nice and helpful. It wasn’t the uncleanliness of the bath (there is one there) and unkempt grounds that ran us off early. It was the mosquitos! They were so bad even a good smokey fire did not keep them at bay, a few were injected every time you opened your mouth. Not sure what could be done with that!!

Site 1 - Hawk's Nest Tent Sites
My son and I had a wonderful time and a good nights rest on during our stay. Having shower during a road trip is a plus. The host was extremely accommodating and helpful. We felt safe and saw the stars. The campground was quiet and clean.

On arrival there was no one in the office. We went to our site and set up then went back to the office twice to check in as we were prompted by a message through Hipcamp. We even called the number and no one answered. Finally someone came out and chastised us for just driving through and not checking in.
So service could improve.
The campground was basic and nothing to write home about.
The only redeeming value is the proximity to Lava Beds.
I guess that’s why it was available at the last minute.
We will not return.

Very cool place to stay, amazing little spot near Lava beds national monument.
Great that each site holds water and outlets, shower and toilet clean. All peaceful and amazing deer activity.

Great place, if you dont mind a lot of people. Its spaced out enough but it is a big place with lots of people.

I loved this campground! It was easy to find, the host was sweet, and everything was clean! I didn’t expect it to be so nice. My kids loved the playground, too. The tent sites were flat and large. Everything was perfect!

Loved the nearby Lavabeds! Camp ground was very nice, large tent sites, flat with picnic tables and chairs. Mostly shaded by pine trees and had deer running by our site in the AM! Bathrooms and showers were nearby and clean. Would recommend!

The facility was great. It was nice that they had full hook up. But the sewer was higher than our piping. So there was an issue trying to empty our used water.
Otherwise everything was great. And it was the rest we needed.

Wonderful and very clean cabin! #7 is at the end of the property and felt very private. Pam was super accommodating of us arriving in the evening after a long drive. Would definitely stay here again!

We had so much fun in our little cozy cabin, and used it as a base to explore the Caves and the beautiful area surrounding Hawks Nest. We had originally planned to camp, but there was snow (surprise!) and Pam was gracious enough to let us cancel the campsite and upgrade to the cabin. No stores for miles around, so we were glad we brought everything we needed. The bathrooms were super clean, heated 24/7 and had great showers. My only suggestion would be to add a few more hooks or shelves to accommodate jackets, towels, keys etc.

Keep pulling forward when you arrive and turn left. We were a little confused where the site was at first. Host was friendly. The bathrooms and free showers were old but clean and functional.

Our camp host was very friendly and responsive. She had preheated the bathroom so we were cozy for our hot showers. No one expected the snowfall overnight. We got about four inches. It was quite beautiful. The site was pretty and clean and quiet, surrounded by trees. The deer were out in the morning. Coin operated washer and dryer worked well and efficiently. Yes, I would highly recommend and stay again:)))

There were plenty of sites to choose from (it being November) and the bathroom was clean and warm. Some sites have 30A, some have 50A, and some additionally have 110V. Best to have all adaptors if you're planning to charge and EV.

Great! I arrived after the office closed, but I was checked in by the host quickly and courteously. The site was immaculate and completely ready for occupancy. Restrooms were clean, well lit, and comfortable.

Nice quiet little tent sites. Close to the cleanest bathrooms ever! Free showers! Laundry room that I didn't look at due to no need. Close to the Lava Beds and caves and Burney Falls. Perfect spot for my needs.
