The weather is perfect for camping now! This seclude, beautiful pet friendly 40 acres of fenced camping site is on top of hilly land and is rare in Iowa. It has close view of 3.5 private fishing ponds and far view of the Red Rock Lake. There are 10 acres nature timber area that keep you away from the other campers and rest of the world. Each site has a firepit, picnic table and a solar light. The drinking water is at the entrance, but no electricity on site. The RVs need to be self-contained. There are tons of nature features, you may see deer, rabbits and other game birds by your campsite. Each camping sites have good distances to keep privacy from each other. A recently built a 20ft diameter geodesic glamping dome tent is for those who want more climate-controlled stay while still enjoying the magnificent nature's gifts. For surrounding areas, the close by White Breast Beach is open from May 23-September 3, 2024, boating, hunting and hiking activities in the lake red rock. For our camper's safety, any hunting activities are not allowed within our camping ground. However, in case you come for hunting with Iowa hunting tags, a couple of public hunting grounds are near our camping ground. The recently built glamping geodesic Dome tent is located on a top of hill. You will have a fantastic sunset view of ponds and lake view while enjoy the great nature and have a comfortable stay. The cell phone signals are good from most providers; you may use your cell phone hotspot work remotely at this astonishing Lake Red Rock Oasis ^_^. Hope you will find joy, peace and happiness in this wonderful piece of natural land and the Red Rock Lake areas. A little history of this land: These 40 acres of land was a surface mining site. The reclamation works done during the 1970s. But over the years, the soil was seriously eroded. Anna and Peilin, who have Master's and PhD in soil and environment health background, bought this land several years ago and started to restore the vegetation. Now the site looks beautiful and ready for the nature lovers and campers to enjoy the fantastic view of the lake, ponds, hills and tall grass, Butterflys... The site is totally different from what the Google map shows now.

Glamping in Fantastic Geodesic Dome

The newly built 20ft diameter geodesic glamping dome tent is located on top of hill in Tri-pond campground near the lake Red Rock. The dome has a king size wood bed with mattresses and bed linens, a table with a capsule coffee maker, and a sofa that can be folded out as a queen bed with two sleeping bags. The dome is equipped with a electric generator, a portable air conditioner for summer and and a wood stove for winter. There is a solar fan on top of the dome for general ventilation. The dome has a front yard with a portable fire pit and a a charcoal BBQ grill which is perfect location to watch sunset, and the dome also has a back yard under the shade with another fire pit and a picnic table. There are a car parking space and an additional tent space and several trees for hammocks in the shade areas at back of the dome. We also provided two hammocks which you may use them in the back of dome. There is a camping toilet and camping shower/wash stall with a camping shower bag near the dome. The dome has a remote controlled solar light over the bed, which will light up automatically when it is bark outside, and can be turned off in your confirmable bed. The dome also equipped with a solar battery and solar panels for charging cell phone, decorative lights or other miner electricity needs. we provide two bottles of drinking water in the dome. The regular drinking water tap is located at the campground gate by a small house. We also provide a camping cooking stove with small bottle of propone battle to make a quick meal. The campsite are located on a peninsula in the Lake Red Rock about 50 miles south east of Des Moines. It is a 40 acres fenced hilly/pond land, which is rare in Iowa. You may enjoy three private ponds for fishing and 10-acre tree area for shaded hiking. The area is peaceful and quiet and peaceful. The are also a lots to do nearby. The Whitebreast Beach (open during May to September each year, $5 per carload), Red rock lake boat ramp, Historic Coal Ridge Church, Stu Kuyper hiking trail and the Youth park are all within a mile. Knoxville raceway and historic City of Pella is nearby. Hope you will find joy, peace and happiness in this wonderful piece of nature heaven campground and surrounding areas.

You can see miles of open field with pond view, fantastic sunset view if weather permit. You need drive up and down hills to get to the site, four wheel drive recommended. For RVs, it is kind of likes luxury boondocking camping with a firepit, solar light and a picnic table and drinking water near the gate. Note: No shade at this site. I've stayed on Anna's land quite a few times. I've stayed on the hill, in the gully area, and last night I stayed in the dome and it was awesome! It's glamping at its finest in that it's still camping but with some really nice and comfortable amenities. This morning the wind chill was -16 and it only took about 30 minutes for the wood-burning stove to heat the place up. I very very much enjoyed my time on the land and in the dome! I will most certainly be back!!!! Thank you, Anna!! :)

Had a beautiful, peaceful evening car camping on Anna’s land! The campsite felt safe and tucked away, and had an absolutely stunning view of the sunset just up the hill. There was someone at the geodesic dome site next to us, which was a little closer than I thought it would be, but they were quiet neighbors! Planning to come stay here again :) Anna provided detailed instructions to help us find the site, which was very appreciated!

This is a great hidden gem in the Red Rock area. Cool campsites with three ponds for fishing and exploring. Beautiful views all around. We were in campsite 4 and loved the tree cover and cool bent tree. Perfect for a hammock. Host was very accommodating and check in/out was simple. They even give you the option to have an ax with wood to chop. Brought out my inner lumberjack. So fun!

I had really good time tent camping here on Anna’s land. I was confused about a few things before my arrival but the host was very helpful and was able to answer my questions. It was super quiet and I liked how spread out everyone was from each other making privacy easy. If you like catching fish..these pond are filled with fish and easy to catch your next meal. I will be returning for a winter stay.

I highly recommend this location! The owners happened to be there when I arrived and kindly mowed an area where I could set up my hammock and park my car for the 2 days that I camped there. They were incredibly kind and accommodating!

I approve. It has some areas good for small to medium RVs and campers. Also has areas where you can choose a spot and set up camp for more primitive camping experience. I would recommend checking with the host if you have a large RV. I do like its proximity to Lake Red Rock and Knoxville Raceway.

Overall it was a really nice and peaceful place to spend the night. I’m glad I was able to bring my dog and she loved going on walks in the property. The description of the site was very spot on, and I’m glad I booked the shady campsite because it was pretty hot that day so being in the shade trees was nice. I took the advice on the description and walked up the hill for the sun set and did my best with the bug spray, because in the summer there were a lot of them haha! I appreciated that there was fire wood there waiting for me because I selected that option however, I will say, carefully read what that entails because I thought the wood would be more prepped for me and I had a hard time spitting it even though they provided me a very nice axe. It was just too hard for me to split the wood up more on my own. There was deer in the evening and early morning so it was very peaceful and we even saw bunnies too, so cute! The view was beautiful and I would consider staying on this property again to try some of the other sites.

My wife and I hada relaxing stay in the dome. As long as you don't mind the very rustic toilet facilities, there's nothing else we could have wanted. Thought and care was taken by the hosts to provide for all contigencies.
