The property has been in my family for over 40 years and was originally settled in the mid 1800's. It is about 10 acres and is primarily wooded with Cedar, Oak, Maple, Hickory and Birch. The topography is diverse, having steep heights, easy flats and everything in between; which makes hiking fun and interesting. The lower College Drive side features a historic limestone homestead and quarry, also a fossil rich creek-bed and rustic (4WD) road to the top. The upper property (Hwy. 52 access) offers a secluded forest as well as a spacious meadow. The woods are filled with birds and many other indigenous wild animals. We are only a half mile from towns edge and two miles from its center (also a five minute drive from Luther College). The Decorah area is well known for its scenic natural beauty and has extensive hiking trails, biking trails, cross-country ski routes, rivers, creeks and hunting areas. People come here year round for our outdoor recreation and beauty. Canoeing, Kayaking, Fishing, Tubing, X-country skiing, and Trail Riding are very popular activities around here. Bring a side-by-side or ATV and have a blast both on the property and around the area. Decorah has several museums, a movie theater, 2 golf courses and bowling alley in addition to dozens of charming shops and several restaurants. You'll never get bored staying at Cedar Springs.

Weekend Trip to Timberline Cabins, Waukee
Rented one of the cabins by the pond. From the moment arriving we were greeted with such great customer service. We enjoyed every moment of our stay especially sitting by the pond having a fire and just enjoying the stars and all the deer that were roaming bye. We will definitely be back again.

Debbie's property was absolutely stunning, it was a nature lovers paradise! They had a wonderful set up with the adorable retro camper and a short stroll away was the lake with all sorts of fun water toys to play with! My seven year old loved it and already requested we come back next year. My husband and I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and having a nice camping setup already established so we didn't have to pack the entire house for a fun time camping!

My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary in this beautiful, exceptionally clean camper with a private trail down to the lake! There were many amenities that made it feel more like glamping, like a coffee maker with coffee, a working fridge and freezer, and even air conditioning! Debbie was very kind to let us borrow two of her kayaks and life jackets over our stay, and we had so much fun exploring the lake. The property is covered in wildflowers, and we were lucky enough to see deer and bald eagles during our stay! We enjoyed cooking our meals over the fire, and they provided us with an iron skillet and roasting sticks to make things easier! I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to enjoy a serene, private, whimsical visit to Iowa’s largest lake. We would love to visit again in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!

We loved the views, the trails, the location, the privacy, and the ability to have our dogs with without any worries! Everything was great and we had everything we needed. Thais and his mother wer super helpful and informative with directions and making sure we had what we needed. We also had the luxury of staying one night in the GreenHouse. Very Cool! A great hip camp very cozy in a beautiful prairie. The host Debbie was really kind and had the camper really nice! It’s really easy to get to and close to a cute town. The boat house and lake are awesome if we had better weather we definitely would’ve kayaked, they have everything you need there for it. Would 10/10 recommend this place if you’re thinking about it!

Weekend Trip to Cedar Springs
My fiancé and I loved staying here! The views were gorgeous, the greenhouse was beautiful and warm, especially for the colder night we stayed here in. Directions were easy to follow, the outhouse was clean and so was the whole grounds. The owners were extraordinarily kind, and people help make the place. This was a perfect first Glamping experience and we can’t wait to come back!

Very easy to follow directions. Debbie’s land is on gravel road but easy to drive, well maintained roads. There are no other homes within view of Debbie’s land which I love, felt private & remote but it is a quick 20 minute drive to town. The camper was comfortable and decorated very cute! Electricity but only bottled water- which was fine. Toilet but no shower (fine for this short stay). The surroundings are beautiful & peaceful! The path is lovely leading to the boat house and on to the lake! The boat house is epic! Next level for sure❤️!!! Recommend plan to spend time hanging out at the boat house and kicking around at the lake! Enjoyed the rocks and drift wood, skipping rocks…

Definitely the most unique property I've stayed at on Hipcamp! Stopped just for the night and I loved the little greenhouse experience and now I am spoiled because I had a whole rock quarry to myself! On top of all that they were very accommodating and got the spot ready for me last minute, I look forward to seeing this property in the future and would come back to this area to explore just to see this place again.

Stayed here with my two boys. The camper was surrounded by prairie. Was a beautiful place to spend a couple nights and had just a short drive to the dam to fish or Knoxville to eat out.
Nice firepit with plenty of wood for a campfire. The host was very nice and made us feel at home.
