Second visit here. Very beautiful and quiet retreat. Plenty of space to set up for multiple tents. If you are looking for a private and secure (total site fenced with locked gate) place to relax, this is it! Very friendly hosts that respect your privacy, but will help out if you need it.

This property is lovingly maintained, and the couple was really communicative. There are tables and chairs and a fire pit. Everything was set up well. I think I was just looking to get out in nature and kayak so I was just looking for a different experience. There's a lot of city noise 24/7: sirens, squealing tires, the constant hum of I-35. And the ad doesn't reflect the drought. The water levels were so low on the Blanco that I could only go about 1/4 mile in the kayak before I had to stop and walk. I kept stopping to walk the kayak again and again, and I kept hoping it would get deeper but it didn't. There are lots of filmy spots with algae all the way up and down the river. I went in both directions. I think if you're just looking to hang out by the water and drink- this is for you. If you're looking for a campsite where you can do water activities from the campsite and just be in nature- I wouldn't recommend this spot. I think the ad should be updated to reflect the low water levels or people should be notified before booking.

We had a great, time despite some unlucky weather. Campsite is really well stocked - really appreciated the trash can and trash bags in particular. Beautiful private river, fire pit, etc. Great for friends, kids, and dogs. Would love to come back!

Possibly our new favorite camping spot in the greeter Austin area. Great water access. Great fire pit set up and sail shade with a picnic table. Mostly fenced and very private. We’ll maintained and easy to find. We will definitely be back!

Great scenery and very private. The train was my only complaint. It ran a few times throughout the night, nothing major just didn't expect it. The fishing was great, water and kayaking was amazing. I do recommend a blow horn. Some of the wildlife will walk right up to the camp--i loved it and so did my dogs. The deer were drinking right across the river from the hammocks. Plenty of shade throughout the property giving you a breeze at any point in the day.

This is the absolute perfect riverside get-away. Private location, not far from town and really easy to get find. We had a bunch of kids with us and they had a blast! The river there is serene and beautiful, we all swam almost the entire time. The water is nice and deep, perfect for floating or paddling on the surf board. Not a single sign of snakes or anything like that. The campsite was clean and fully loaded with chairs, picnic table, BBQ grill, shade and lights. The fire pit is a really nice touch. We also enjoyed the corn hole boards there. Dustin and Val were great hosts, they were so nice to chat with and made sure our stay was great. You can tell that they have out a lot of thought into the space and really appreciate it. We couldn’t recommend this place more to people that have kiddos or even those that don’t! We will definitely be back.

The site was very private, so that was a plus. However, I asked in advance whether the water was moving and how much visibility there was as I have a three-year old, and the only response I got was that the water was “fine.” It was not. It was stagnant and there was no movement or visibility. I wasn’t sure about even letting my son swim, and when I did I was scared about water moccasins the whole time. These folks seemed primarily concerned with turning a profit as well. They did not tell the truth about the water for one thing. Also, when we arrived, the hammock swing they feature in all the photos was lying on the ground. Out of courtesy, I let them know. They said they were coming to put it back up next weekend. I was then advised that I had only rented one kayak, and I would have to pay another $15 for the other kayak. They made it a big deal. I wasn’t sure why we didn’t just call it even since the swing was on the ground and the water was disgusting. it wasn’t about the money, but I had no service and the owner demanded that I show him proof of PayPal payment before he would give me the code for the second kayak. I didn’t even see where in the app it gave me the option to rent two instead of one… basically, kayaking was the only activity that this place offered, and I had to be sure to pay my other $15 before I could access the activity for my family. We ended up leaving a day early. When I let the owners know, they didn’t seem to care one bit.

This place was exactly what my family was looking for, it was Memorial Day weekend and wanted to avoid all the crowds. Camp ground was clean, bbq pit on site, plenty of shade, and completely gated so my dog could run all over the place. Saw not a single person on the whole stretch of the river. Extremely private. Stlight steep hill to get into camp but most vehicles should clear with caution

It was awesome camping on Dustin and Val’s land! It had everything we needed, a great spot for water access, and it was close to the city in case we needed anything. They were friendly hosts and the land was well taken care of.

A very special spot! The proximity to Austin was perfect for a quick getaway, we loved that the kayaks were available on site for a very small additional fee, and the hammock chair, shade structure, grill, fire pit, etc. were all wonderful extras that we didn't expect when looking for a camping spot. The land is at a narrow point on the Blanco which is perfect for splashing around with your dog (or kids). As others have said: if you're looking for a super remote/quiet spot, this is not it as we could hear construction nearby and road noise from I-35, but it's a lovely place for a visit with water access and we'll be back, hopefully with friends next time. :)

This camp spot exceeded my group’s expectations. Easy drive from Austin, conveniently close to town for forgotten essentials, yet felt completely secluded. We especially loved the river access, solar lights and kitchen area. Will be back, thanks Dustin and Val!

Cool spot. Love the "camp kitchen" area under the sun shade. The fire pit right along the river was a great place to watch the sun set. It is fenced in on the sides but the area along the river is not. At one point some people were walking along the river with their dogs off leash when their dogs came into our camp and very nearly had an altercation with our dogs. Obviously not the property owner's fault but it was quite a shock and definitely altered the mood a bit. While it was still a good experience, it's not as remote as you may think. There is a railroad within a 1/4 mile and the surrounding properties are being developed. On the other hand, it was super easy to get to from our place in North Austin and having the walmart so close was great for charcoal and ice needs. If you want to be "off grid" this ain't it, but would definitely recommend for a quick trip from the city.

This place over-delivered what I thought it was. Even though you are pretty close to town it feels like you are far away. It's private, and the grounds are maintained well. The solar lights at night are a really nice touch. There's a trash can and some hooks to hang things and a nice shaded pavilion all really close to the fire and river.

The land is really a magical experience. Dustin & Val have created an oasis that's rustic enough, and simultaneously inviting for anyone who needs a bit more than just flat earth. They are awesome!
Aside from occasional loudness from the surrounding highway (mostly due to revving motorcycle's or cars without mufflers) it's a peaceful enough place to get a good reset in nature. There is romantic solar lighting at the picnic bench for evening meals, and good places to pitch a tent. The firepit is awesome, as is the creek-bed that leads to an incredibly gorgeous series of cyprus trees. I highly recommend the adventure down the waterway, or floating on the surfboard/kayak as there are fish, tadpoles, dragonflies, and the occasional nocturnal mammal doing their thing.
Worthy of a second visit, and perfect for a weekend getaway.

Great space next to the river and spot for group camping. Had an awesome time around the shaded picnic table or in the water. Easy access to get to the property and will definitely be back as it was a close get-away for our group.

We had a great time camping on Dustin & Val’s property! It was a beautiful spot and had everything we needed. We loved the covered picnic area, access to the water, and the fire pit. There was a bit of neighborhood noise at night but it didn’t bother us much.

The site was great, unfortunately, you can hear the highway in the distance, but the river was great as well as the overall setup. Dustin and Val were very responsive and their instructions were clear.

Great spot close to San Marcos, yet some how feels miles away from any city. A large lot right on the Blanco river, plenty of space for dogs and humans to go wild. Plenty of flat area for tents and an awesome covered picnic table with solar powered lights was really useful!
