We bought the farmette with much work outside and home interior remodel to complete. We slowly turned the property into our family oasis. We neighbor a pasture with cows. There are free range chickens running around during the day. Geese greet us every evening and morning at the pond...as do the many bullfrogs. Occasionally you'll hear the coyotes, but they keep their distance. The stars shine peacefully and the sunsets are picturesque (most afternoons). The pond is a great place to swim and fish. The hillside is a nice walk for exercise or take the easier route and sit under the great oak tree in the other pasture. Campsites are off the road, behind our main home. You won't find a sign...we keep it simple. We allow pets at the sites for a $5 per pet/per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add the Pet Fee which is listed on the Extra during the booking process. We have firewood available for sale, $5.55/bundle. This is located in the Extra section during the booking process. Lastly, there is free range chicken eggs available for purchase, $3.50/dozen. My favorite trail at Governor Dodge is the Lost Canyon Trail that starts with the decent to the gorgeous Stephen's Falls. My favorite time of year to go is around Mid-May when the leaves are G R E E N and the bugs are minimal.

Such an adorable cozy and lovely area! The accommodations were nice and everything was well kept and clean and organized, lovely hosts as well! Would totally come back for sure during spring or summer season, came during harsh rain and wasn’t able fully explore and stay on site but was still such a nice experience! They also have a small shop and we were able to buy pumpkins! Very cute! Very lovely!

We really enjoyed our weekend here! We were close to Middleton, we enjoyed seeing the animals frequently on the farm, and the hosts were great communicators and very welcoming! There was a bit of walking (maybe 1/4 mile?) between the parking area and the camp site, which made setting up a bit difficult, but not terrible. Our site was private and spacious. There was definitely traffic noise, which we didn't mind and at night was like a white noise machine. The only bathroom was an outhouse, which my 10 year old struggled with, but that builds character right? :D

The man that showed us around was very friendly. There were several sites to choose from. We found a large, flat space to set up camp. The bugs were minimal and there was a fire ring. The space was very private and safe. The walk from the car was pretty long though and most of it uphill. Also that is where the toilet is located.

you can't beat the opportunity to camp at an apple orchard! this was our first hipcamp experience and it was good! brian was super helpful and accommodating when hipcamp made an error and i am super appreciative! my biggest heartbreak for the night was that THE tree is no longer there. did i book this site soley for the tree? kinda. i had dreamy visions and plans to hang hammocks with my husband, so for sure pretty bummed that it no longer stands to hang hammocks in, but i did still mange to find two great trees to hang from, and with the views of an orchard! (maybe those pictures should be taken down so no one else is disappointed) i did roll a portion of it to the bigger firepit so i could still enjoy it as a table (it looked really cute actually!) and i did roll it back when we were done. we really really appreciate an on site potty and ample, great burning firewood! the street was fairly busy, more than we anticipated, but not awful at all. and we really loved being the only people there! it's perfectly sized for one family! we also took a walk down to say "hi" to the horses and to swing like kids on the tire swing (seems the teeter totter left with the famous tree)! the site has GREAT tall trees for plenty of shade with a sweet wooden swing hanging between two of them! the sunset and sunrise were both plenty visible and beautiful.

It's a smaller campground. There's a town 5 min away so if you need stuff, it's easy to get to. Liked the pond. Our spot was difficult to back into. We liked stating there. There isn't much shade so plan accordingly.
