Enjoy our back lot for a private campsite which borders a prairie preserve. Watch the deer come in the morning and evening and listen to our friendly, happy hens cluck away, not to mention all the beautiful song birds. We are happy to share our golf clubs and balls to hit a few into the field. Our kids love it! Tree coverage along with an open field. We cut the field to offer a walking trail to the prairie preserve. There is a tree surronded, very private tent site for tenters, but if you have a camper you can find a spot that works best for you! (The tent site is very private and a camper would not fit.) We are a short 10 min drive to Stillwater but there is so much to do in Somerset! Take a walk around the prairie preserve and kayak down the apple river, but don’t forget the local brewery and boutique shop. There is some great fishing on local lakes in the area as well. We offer a 30 amp electric hook up and our hose for water. We also have a shower tent with a camping porta potty.

Previously a 100 acre century farm, this fertile land was tended to by generations of old time farmers. Their dairy cows pastured in areas which we now graze sheep.  The restored quarry provided gravel for the nearby highway restoration and local projects. The property is currently a mix of hay ground, cropland, pasture, forest, and quarry. Twin sisters, Darla and Kayla, and their families live across the road from each other and own the surrounding 140 acres. They keep busy planting/tending trees, making hay, moving fence for grazing animals, operating a farm business called Twin Folk Farms (pastured meat, camps, etc), and raising their families.Learn more about this land:- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected. - You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. You can also set up a time to come up to the farm and purchase meat. - The beautiful, historic town of Red Wing is 10 minutes from our farm. You'll find a mix of modern amenities and historic shops to suit your fancy.

Situated on 36 acres, this working farm is 2 miles West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! They hope you enjoy their place as much as they do! Feel free to ask them to show you around or even get your hands dirty with them as they plant or harvest.

Looking for a quiet, peaceful, romantic getaway? You found it! Sit by the campfire, relax in the hammock, watch the stars twinkle, and listen to the sounds of the night. The canvas tent is located at the back of our 200-acre organic, regenerative dairy farm. It's tucked among the pines and birch trees at the edge of a steep embankment overlooking Sweeny Creek. Our one-of-a-kind A-frame canvas tent was hand-built by us. Tie back the screened canvas window for a true close-to-nature experience. A queen-size mattress ensures a comfortable night's sleep (it's a real mattress, not an air mattress). Solar lights automatically turn on at dusk. We don't like spiders or mice any more than you do, and we do our best to keep them out. However, you're immersed in their natural habitat, so don't be surprised if you spot a few. Your private rustic outdoor toilet is located just a short walk from the tent (about 50 feet away). Soft solar twinkle lights, strung through the branches above, turn on automatically at dusk. Mosquitoes are typically minimal. We're here to make your stay as memorable and enjoyable as possible. If you need anything or have questions, just holler! We'll provide you with a map of the farm, and you're welcome to explore the deer trails, woods, and ravines. Please be respectful of the birch bark. :) The following items are provided at your campsite: • Soft linen duvet with a warm wool comforter • Pillows • Flannel sheets • Extra blankets • Dry firewood • Hatchet • Lighter • Kindling • Cooler with ice • Hamburger grate for the fire pit • Camp chairs • Toilet paper • Kettle for heating water • Roasting sticks • Paper towels • Towels and rags • Bug and tick repellent • One of our exclusive tick bite kits Included and available for pickup at the Farmhouse (a wagon is provided): • Bottled water • 10 gallons of potable water • Hand sanitizer • Dishes and silverware • Cast-iron griddle and frying pan • French press and coffee • Salt and pepper • Cutting board and knife • Cooking oil • Dish soap • A small basket of fresh organic eggs from our hens • Coffee cake • S'mores supplies Also included with your stay: • Unlimited Wi-Fi on the Farmhouse porch • Homemade ice cream at the Farmhouse and a farm tour—just let us know when you'd like to enjoy them!

The Hattie Shack at Peony Power

13. The Hattie Shack at Peony Power

26mi from Boyceville · 1 site
Welcome to the Hattie Shack! My husband, Wayne, built it when our young daughter wanted to have sleepovers. It’s now a peaceful and idyllic slice of heaven for your personal retreat. Writers, artists, musicians, sojourners, and outdoor lovers are all welcome to enjoy this creative and colorful glamping experience. Our elevated shack is perfect for a one-person getaway, with views of fields, woods, and gardens. It’s just a short walk from your personal parking spot, with mowed paths and trails to explore in the woods. The space is accessible year-round—there’s AC for the warm months and heat for the colder seasons. Amenities include an outhouse, a BBQ grill with charcoal, a table, and a fire pit. A hammock and outdoor gear are also available. Our friendly dogs, Wally and Sunny, will likely greet you—they roam freely. And then there’s Bobby Sue - our rescued tomcat who thinks he is a dog. He is very curious and will undoubtedly come to visit. If you bring a pet, we ask that it remain leashed, as we have chickens on the property. We’re a short drive from Class 1 trout streams, including the Kinnickinnic and Rush River. If you prefer to stay on the farm, the shack features a writing desk and an outdoor porch table—perfect for when inspiration strikes. There is no Wi-Fi, but there is an AT&T tower nearby for data connection. Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint users may have limited service. A small fridge, French press, hot plate, fresh water, and basic utensils are available. Peony Power Farm is my new business, where I am in the process of planting and cultivating peonies for the cut flower market. The plants take 3 years to mature for cutting, but once in bloom, the Hattie Shack will offer a beautiful view of the peony fields. In the meantime, Wayne and I plant huge vegetable and flower gardens. The abundance is amazing and we love to share the beauty. Please join us in this little slice of paradise.
