Enjoy our back lot for a private campsite which borders a prairie preserve. Watch the deer come in the morning and evening and listen to our friendly, happy hens cluck away, not to mention all the beautiful song birds. We are happy to share our golf clubs and balls to hit a few into the field. Our kids love it! Tree coverage along with an open field. We cut the field to offer a walking trail to the prairie preserve. There is a tree surronded, very private tent site for tenters, but if you have a camper you can find a spot that works best for you! (The tent site is very private and a camper would not fit.) We are a short 10 min drive to Stillwater but there is so much to do in Somerset! Take a walk around the prairie preserve and kayak down the apple river, but don’t forget the local brewery and boutique shop. There is some great fishing on local lakes in the area as well. We offer a 30 amp electric hook up and our hose for water. We also have a shower tent with a camping porta potty.

Their dairy cows pastured in areas which we now graze sheep.  The restored quarry provided gravel for the nearby highway restoration and local projects.The property is currently a mix of hay ground, cropland, pasture, forest, and quarry. Twin sisters, Darla and Kayla, and their families live across the road from each other and own the surrounding 140 acres. They keep busy planting/tending trees, making hay, moving fence for grazing animals, operating a farm business called Twin Folk Farms (pastured meat, camps, etc), and raising their families.Learn more about this land:- This site is at the edge of a restored quarry, sheep pasture, and wooded hillside.- The site is tucked down a flat mowed path, so it feels very private and protected. - You can hike up a path to the sheep pasture. Sometimes sheep are there, sometimes elsewhere on the farm. You can hike the other direction and check out the restored quarry. We have paths all around the property, so feel free to respectfully explore.- You can't see the highway from this site, but you can hear it. It's super handy to be able to hop out of your campsite haven and onto the hwy, but be aware that you will hear vehicles.- There's a Mississippi river boat launch a few miles down the road, so feel free to park your boat at the bottom of the quarry driveway.- The Hay Creek riding trails are 25 minutes away, so contact us if you want to set up a place in the quarry to park your horses and trailer for the night. - We are certified to sell meat straight off of the farm (Twin Folk Farms), so contact us if you want to purchase your meat and have it delivered to your campsite. You can also set up a time to come up to the farm and purchase meat. - The beautiful, historic town of Red Wing is 10 minutes from our farm. Situated on 36 acres, this working farm is 2 miles West of Taylors Falls. Dan bought this property with the intention of growing stone fruits (plums, peaches, apricots and cherries) using sustainable and organic practices because health and wellness matter to them! They are still in the process of improving their property. Many of the building on the property were in poor condition, including the old barn foundation which is now one of Dan and Danielle favorite places to keep cool in the summer. After they had excavated all the debris (which took years) they were able to transform it with gardens and fire pit for all to enjoy. They love sharing what they have been blessed with! A small fridge, French press, hot plate, fresh water, and basic utensils are available. Peony Power Farm is my new business, where I am in the process of planting and cultivating peonies for the cut flower market. The plants take 3 years to mature for cutting, but once in bloom, the Hattie Shack will offer a beautiful view of the peony fields. In the meantime, Wayne and I plant huge vegetable and flower gardens. The abundance is amazing and we love to share the beauty. Please join us in this little slice of paradise.

Had a great stay at Whippletree Farm! My husband and I booked this site to take his younger siblings on their first ever “camping” trip. Peter’s cabin was the perfect intro to camping experience! My sister in law loved the goats and chickens and spent plenty of time with the cats that were roaming around. Having perks like the compost toilet, beds w/sheets, and fans was especially nice because it meant I didn’t have to pack as much stuff. We wanted to do a day of Mall of America and a day of hiking at Willow River State Park, so this was the perfect location. 10/10 would recommend!

Weekend Trip to Twin Folk Farms

The cabin is lovely, secluded and we were lucky to have a clear night for stargazing. The toilet inside is fantastic, especially for those of us a little older. Kitchen is stocked with basics, great coffee and there is a cooler to keep your perishables. My only con was the hike up to the cabin, but again, I’m old. Darla did send someone to help haul stuff up when I called.

Weekend Trip to Belle Creek Bluff

The green cabin was the perfect retreat for our family (2 kids + 2 dogs). The creek crossing plus the hike up the hill was a little bit of work to get all the gear across, but well worth it for the spacious and private site. Water was a little high early in the season so water shoes or wet boots were a must. All round very memorable trip.

The site was tidy with its own compostable outhouse. There was even four chairs set around the fire pit. The site was private and the sounds of nature was very refreshing. Dan has a very nice place with well cared for land. There are friendly chickens and a happy-go-lucky dog, who escorted me to my site the second night.. I would definitely recommend the site. Dan was very kind and accommodating as well. He also provides wagons to tote your things.

Weekend Trip to Whippletree Farm & Nature Trail

Really great site, we had beautiful weather and didn't really spend much time in the cabin. There was plenty of firewood available to us which was really great. When we were going to bed we couldn't help but think we missed out cause the cabin was really great. Great time, great site and great cabin.

1 night at Belle Creek Bluff

Overall amazing site. River is clear, secluded and beautiful. Only downside I would say is that the main front door doesn’t lock. Although the screen door does it was definitely a worry through the night. Great service. Great price. Love this place so much and we had a blast!

Everything was amazing about this space. The privacy was unmatched. The amount of hiking trails, the view, the creek. We had a blast and can’t wait to return. Our beagle boy loved all the places to run!

Weekend Trip to Serenity Valley

This was an absolutely beautiful cabin with great views of the woods behind the property. The cabin was perfect, clean and comfortable. Probably the cleanest, nicest outhouse I’ve ever seen and the hosts were wonderful.

Full loft is yours for rest and relaxation.

Weekend Trip to Cozy Lofted Barn Retreat

We were the first guests of the season and it was COLD outside (It even snowed) but the barn was so cozy and warm inside. Homemade breakfast was delivered along with homemade hot tea and it was exceptional! They offered us to reach out for anything we may need but we didn’t need a thing! It was perfect! We’re looking forward to coming back for a longer stay when the flowers are in bloom!
